my dad takes them, he left yesterday with a pink one for breast cancer. theres a convoy of 4 of them with his being the only pink one. there only around 50-60 ton and they get carried on 50 ton floats. now days they have to have 2 traffic police escorts, and 5 pilot escort vehicles for the 4 of then.
Its written as 160ton dumptruck bodies... That is their capacity, they hold about 160 ton of dirt. They weighbetween 40 and 80 ton, depending on their size etc.
I am an escort vehicle driver and pilot those size loads pretty often. The trucks get about 2km per litre empty and down as low as 800 metres a litre loaded.
the second one is set way forward,,,plenty of length at the rear,,,,,,most of the weight is in the front of the bucket,,,2 x quad setups equals big weight
just like to point out the bucket only weighs 25 ton but if you were refering to the truck they go on then it is either a 789 or 793 which are 180 and 240 ton.

Don't think I have ever seen a W.A. oversize load going as slow as 80KPH. I know that they are supposed too, but they never do
matjencharli 2 years ago
Yes They do. In Queensland the maximum speed limit for oversize loads is 80 km an hour.

a Bogie dolly and Quad float seems to point to a bit more than 25 tonne payload
TARBABY71 3 years ago
i think you'll find it is just to gain length/width not because of weight
