Daron magically sings through Serj's vocal chords. Daron also magically controls Shavo's fingers to play the bass. And even though Serj wrote the majority of the lyrics for the first three albums, Daron really magically controlled Serj's mind and made him think of those lyrics.

The reason the credits of albums say that the "lyrics are by" Serj in every song, and by Daron in only some, is because Daron sings in some of the songs, while Serj sings in them all. Ergo, the lyrics are "by" Serj, but were straight up written by Daron. That's why with each passing album, Daron is mentioned more and more in the lyric credits, cause with each new album, he sang more and more often.

Actually, saying something sounds System or sounds Daron, is saying the exact same thing. When you look at all the facts, and truly listen to the music, you'll see that Daron actually IS System of a Down. He wrote 100% of the music and 95% of the lyrics. I'm sure the Serj-heads will disagree like hell cause they like Serj's voice to the point that they believe he wrote the lyrics just because he's singing them, but that's not true.
