I remember fighting this guy! Bur he only showed his head. Now if I had gone against him when he was like this, I'd have panicked. Anyways I knew something was up with Zelos! I'm in the angel city right now but before then Zelos scared me when Presea asked him if he was alright. then the music stopped and Zelos said " What a sharp girl." in this chilling voice. >.<

They should have been suspicious, but they were a little distracted, don't cha think? ^-^; Besides, they trust him and he's their friend. Maybe they just waved it off as a Chosen thing or them not knowing everything about Angels and the Chosen.

I think that Zelos has his power because he was born with his Cruxis Crystal and allowed to keep it. Because he lives in the flourishing world, all of the seals have already been undone. Colette had to undo each of them in order for her powers to be unlocked. He didn't have to lose anything because he didn't have to unlock them. Thus, he had his power to begin with. I think their power corresponds to the seals.

@Breezyfeather That theory does hold up quite a bit. Only problem is, without journeying and going through hardships to unlock each angel power, any Chosen that isn't exactly a pure person can abuse their angel powers.

This brings me to belive that somehow, along with the point of every seal already being unlocked from your theory, Cruxis must unlock their powers first. Which again leads back to the question of why the party wasn't suspicious in the OVA.

Well Chosens are expected to have angel skills... I guess. I'm actually not too sure why it is Zelos gets to use his angel skills when Colette has to get them by losing her voice and whatever.

@xXMikotoNakadaiXx well for a while he did work with cruxis so maybe they helped him unlock his angle abilities without hindering his senses, or maybe his cruxis crystal was different since he is guy and he couldnt be martel's vessel

@song0flife That has nothing to do with it. Since Chosens of the flourishing world don't have to complete a set of tasks to gain their angel powers, their only purpose is to continue their bloodline of Chosens.

So, the only way that Zelos had become an angel is if he had become an angel the same way Kratos, Mithos, and Yuan had become angels, with the help of Cruxis. Which brings me back to my point that using an angel skill should have made the party suspicious.
