@JIZZZification Don't Squeeze!!! That will cause damage to your voice. Increase the air how? If you allow the air to release - great. If you are pushing air - no so much. Volume is fine if it's not pushed. Falsetto is a different range for men. Your highest falsetto probably isn't reachable in full voice. Spend a few pennies- get a couple videos: go to SingerQuickFix. com and check out the free video first, then take a look at the Falsetto, High Notes and LOng High Notes. Deck the Halls!
@zimnochmusic if you your so professional why are you here? Are you just so completely immature that you need to bash on their video? Some professional.
@RecklessInspirer You're so welcome! I have a great free video you might be interested in - go to SingerQuickFix. com and you can watch the video! Enjoy.
Neither am I (talking about whistle tones). All of the singers I mentioned have countless records with sustained high notes in them. They have no problem shifting registers or moving the voice either. While you do talk about some important basics, you certainly are not sustaining high notes either, or demonstrating that you even have the ability to.
@SingLikeYouSpeak But your video is entitled 'how to sing 'High' notes' a 'detailed' vocal training". You fail to demonstrate your own ability to sing high notes (if you actually have it) and with the exception of one basic principal of keeping the body open and not closing down the throat, you have failed to explain anything about how to either. The whole premise of your training program is flawed. "Sing like you speak" only works if you are speaking well. And yes I a professional singer.
@zimnochmusic Don't knock my technique until you've tried it. The speaking voice improves dramatically along with the singing voice - they are 1 voice. Also, there's only so much detail one can go into in a 4 min video.
If you are a professional singer, I'd like to see your videos.
@zimnochmusic That's a whole other lesson. My focus here is to give the person who is new to vocal training a glimpse into what's possible. This is also training for contemporary singers and not classical singers who need to sustain high notes as a normal part of their repertoire - not so w/contemporary singers.
@SingLikeYouSpeak Oh, you mean like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Diana Ross, not mention Minnie Riperton (Loving You) or Janice Segal and a host of others. Oh, Yes those singers 'never' sustain high notes. It's only the classical singers that do - mm mmm right...
@skyjordan0330 I will have a video for you in answer to your question next week. For now, try to relax your jaw when speaking and singing. It will help to relieve the what causes a raspy voice. All the best!
@skyjordan0330 Hi. Thanks for your question. A raspy voice is the result of HOW you are using it. Screaming is not a good use of the voice anyway and has nothing to do w hi notes. U need someone to help u learn how to use your voice in a healthy way. Take a look at SingerQuickFix. com and SingLikeYouSpeak. com. Both sites have the info u need to sing like a pro. Check out the free videos. Good luck!
@TheDarkchaos55 Singing in the mask is not exactly what I"m talking about here. Open those spaces behind the mask and let the breath and sound move through. Stopping the sound in the mask makes for a harsh and brassy sound, not one that is released and communicative. For more info SingLikeYouSpeak. com

@TheSamitola Shouting is a very different and harmful use of the voice. Speak on pitch is the key. The power you want in your singing comes w/practice and training. don't shout, don't yell, Speak! Check out my website for tips: SingLikeYouSpeak. com
@TheTelevisionRemote I bet that when you are excited and happy, you do speak in a higher range. Play around with it and listen. Don't push anything, but when you see your friends, don't you say 'hi' at a higher pitch than normal? Try it out and let me know.
This is very great video. I just got a problem... or whatever you decide to call it. I've got absolute hearing, so I always get frightened cuz I know when I'll reach the notes I usually can't reach. I hear when I'm soon at C5 so I strain; my voice gets tired and my head aches and the show is over.
@MrAlmqvist If your head is aching when you try to reach certain notes, you are doing an awful lot of pushing. It's just a bad habit. Habits can be changed. That's what vocal training is all about. Check out this video here on youtube on my SingLikeYouSpeak Channel called Why Study Singing. Also, I have some low-cost options for singing lessons on my website, SingLikeYouSpeak. com All the best!
Thank you so much!! i used to 'strain' my voice when i was younger and had such a range, lately i've been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and a post nasal drip and began to really struggle with my singing in general due to it hurting my throat even through acoustic music. i'm glad to say that this has really helped :) I actually can't thank you enough! :)
@soupandgravy If your throat is hurting when you sing, it has to do w/how you are using the voice - not w/post nasal drip. Keep singing! So happy the video helped. For more help, go to my website SingLikeYouSpeak. com
I guarantee you that the reason people strain is for two reasons: 1. They don't know how, or 2. They don't want to get high-pitched, which they don't realize is actually how you do it.
@SingLikeYouSpeak Well, those people who sound like they're singing in chest, but are actually in mix didn't START that way. It starts with a more high-pitched sound. You have to train your mix and head voice to become more powerful, and thus, sound more like an extension of your voice.
@zarapato Thanks for your comment. I can see how ki might help you focus the sound so you can hear yourself better. Make sure that you don't 'place' the sound very forward to get the correct pitch - it will cause your voice to get very tight and not free.
Hi, Ive been watching a lot of these videos and I have learned to not strain my voice and to go higher then I usually do but my problem is I can only go high when I sing soft or low as in the minimum volume and every time I try to increase the volume my voice either cracks or im stuck in my chest voice and cannot go into head voice =/ what can I do to prevent that or to actually sing louder?
@lilpunk144 It's tough for me to write out how to sing. You need to have the right breathing, the right muscles working and to be able to sing in a normal range before you sing high. Keep doing the hi notes soft. If u're doing it right, the muscles will get stronger and over time you'll be able to sing louder. Get a free video lesson from my site to help - SingLikeYouSpeak. com
