So I live here on O'ahu and I surf but I have been interested in surf photography and video for sometime. I see that you used the Canon 5d for this. I have a rebel T3i and would like to make similiar quality videos. What lens did you use for this?? All I have is a 15-80mm lens. Seems like something in the 300mm range would be decent. Unfortunately, I am a college student and those lens aren't cheap. What about the difference in HD video between the two cameras?? Is it significant?

The power of these waves is stunning... And yet I've met "kooks" at my school who believe their so bad ass, who claim they would paddle out at Tahiti, Mavs., etc. Denying that they will be ripped to shreds if they get sucked over. It's kids like these that anger me and and doing so they can not recognize the true force of mother nature.

@XXsurf990XX Most of them did drop down the face..? But to try and further answer your question just riding a wave down the face isn't as "fun," I suppose, as truly riding the wave. Most of those faces are straight down anyway.
