@MadnessDixie Well it doesnt matter anymore cuz they deleted the video. So MTV gets rid of Music video's and VH1 Classic plays big hair videos all the time. OMG, dude what has happened to the entertainment industry? It's gone to crap. Oh well like you said I could buy it on DVD from the jerks that pulled the video down.
As much as people bash 80s music, alot of creativity and originality died at the end of the decade. What do we have now? Justin Bieber and company. That's a great improvement.
Remember how awesome 3-wheelers were before the Nanny state came in and took them away from us. I wish the government could have found a way to cash in on them so they could remain on the market. Almost impossible to find a good used one now.
@JohnnyC989 I've heard that the Big Country was only a one-hit wonder in the U.S. I'm with you that this song holds a special place in my heart, because I'm a fourth Scottish.
@8erfromdec I know what happened to the whole video for this. This is one of the best music videos of all-time and should be seen in it's entirety. You would think that the record company that owns this tune would want the whole video put on youtube it would probably get tons of hits from 80's music lovers.
The whole video was on youtube but they took it down. Who owns the rights to the video, and why do they not want it up on youtube? I do not know where else to find the music video but on youtube.
What great memories. I wore this record out on my stereo back in the day. I am so glad we have YouTube to keep these wonderful memories with us. Thanks for posting.
Man, I always loved this band... certainly most played cassette tape I ever had 80-early 90's when i was in the Marines... even during Gulf War Period... a gf of mine new the lead singer... well.. from these posts just heard of his loss.... it is 2010... 9 years after he died.. but i do feel sad... sorry for the loss... but thanks for the good music... good times.
The lead singer, Stuart Adamsom, commited suicide and was found dead in a Hawaii hotel room on December 16th, 2001. After his death, they continued to release music for the cult following they had until 2005....I agree, they were larger than life!
This just played on VH1 classics. A great song, so I looked them up. Guess the nostalgia of the song sparked my interest. I mean, I suspected it was from my highschool years. I looked them up and sure enough, it is. Again, a great song.
I'm surprised it only has 5984 views (?) I mean, the song seems larger than life.
@emailkenny I love the song too. I was a year old when the song dropped so its not in my nostalgia banks like other songs are. But that VH1 show exposed me to it. High quality track. Amazing that that are a 1 hit wonder in the US. I mean this song is great, you'd thnk that atleast one other song would have been another hit here in the states. Sad that the lead singer took his own life back in 01.
guitarist looks just like Owen Hart.............R.I.P. to both Owen and Stuart both loved and missed.........so sad for great lives to be taken from everyone
Great song and band..................

They used E-bows
Offenso 1 year ago
@facmptr It's called a synthecizer (sp?) A lot of sounds were imitated by just that one instrument during the 1980's.
