  • From the looks of the comments, I think people are gonna strongly disagree with me. For me, this song is like the ultimate in delayed gratification/anticipation, the main verse/chorus thing is pretty good, but I basically listen to this song for those short kickass harpsichord breaks. That makes the whole thing worth it for me.

  • Perfect Pop Song

  • THE BEST!!

  • Can hear all the similarities to Madonna's BS is just the first minute!

  • @newkid22 huh? Madonna?

  • @MichaelHansenFUN Listen to Madonna's Beautiful Stranger and you'll see what I'm talking about.

  • @newkid22 HA HA HA GOOD ONE!!!

  • @newkid22 similar but different keys

  • @newkid22 I see (hear) your point. All musicians borrow from those before them.

  • @mermaidprincess9 not forgetting Bryan Maclean wrote a lot of their stuff too

  • I think I listened to Love for about 5 months straight a few years ago. At a time when I needed a distraction from the god awful hard job i had & a break down or,,,near break down,,,? I dunno man but,,, I listened to this band constantly. I still listen to them a lot. They are and will always be one of my MOST favorite bands. Beautiful & warm and just what we need. thank you xx peace

  • Well wrote, RakyMaky. I thought they were from ny. This represents a cursed period in my life, I think that my alcoholism made me vulnerable to witchcraft-curses from some strangers in the environment, whom I have since identified. Readin sermon on the mount gave me the needed prayerfulness to want to recover.

  • Listen to the flute in this song, then listen to a song called rainy day mushroom pillow.COOL!

  • dudes and dudettes, you really would of have to been there to get this song!

  • Get a stereo, a copy of 'Da Capo' and 'Forever Changes,' some peyote buttons and a car. Drive to Sedona. Liberally apply items 2,3 and 4 to your mind. See what happens...

  • Love was one of my fav bands of the Psychedelia era. I love their unique blend of rock, soul, blues and fused together with classical. They were so different because of the amazing vocals and writing of Arthur Lee. This is my fav Love song.. Wonderful Magic. WHen i was young in the sizties Love records stayed on the record player because they were the coolest and Arthur Lee was king.

  • who's the asswad who clicked dislike? Own up!

  • Its amazing how so much of the music from "Beautiful Stranger" comes from this song, yet you wouldn't notice unless someone pointed it out.

  • @MerlinParish

In truth, Beautiful Stranger is a much better song. Shame it was sung by Madonna though.

  • Great song by one of the most underrated bands ever.Their album Forever Changes is a masterpiece.

  • Love was a great band.

  • Wow, at least the title reminded me of "She's a Rainbow"

  • this band and the late 60s..at college..those were the days

  • It is rather harsh to say they perversely refused to tour. Arthur Lee was a suffering agoraphobic and this kept the band from touring. When the A&R guys w/ Elektra came to try and talk Arthur Lee into touring, he took them out that night to the Whiskey to see a new LA band...the Doors. Elektra signed them and the rest is history, and the end of Love, too.

In Oliver Stone's "The Doors" there is a scene where Jim Morrison stops Arthur Lee at a party and thanks him for helping get them signed.

  • Ray Manzerek has also said that without Arthur Lee, The Doors would have never found the success they did. Here is a great interview with Arthur Lee:

  • if you all don't stop all this Madonna Led Zep Joe Walsh stole this and that song nonsense i'm gonna ban you from my internet

  • beauty

  • arthur lee - gone too soon. madonna stole this? who's madonna???

  • arthur lee - gone too soon.

  • @orienteeer

gone too soon? he was old as fuck

  • @OrangeSaint420 Don't you think we all die too soon ?

  • @craniuman Sometimes we live too long. When we grow old enough, (and perhaps wise enough) to lose all hope. Become jaded to where world holds little fascination or promise anymore. When we realize that people will never change, that history keeps repeating itself over and over again. Same shit, different day.

'Oh yeah life goes on, long after the thrill of livin' is gone. They walk on.' - Mellencamp

  • @MaceMn ... Is it possible to be free of the accumulation of experience? Is it possible experience music, sex, food, a beautiful face, the clouds in the sky, your spouse or friend, the computer when you turn it on, the amazing technology of an automobile, the wonder of being alive, as if you're experiencing these things for the first time? Try looking at the world THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD. That's a Moody Blues song. Search for it on YouTube and isten to it now.

  • @JackJamesElias Well put. I'm happiest when I feel like I'm a kid and I"m 60.

  • the first Love song i ever heard...since then i've been hooked,,Aurthur lee was a genius

  • Unless I was trippin at the time, this was used for a commercial background tune. Hair coloring or some type of cosmetics in the late 60's or early 70"s. . . . . maybe not.

  • Madonna may have ripped this off, but I like her version a lot better than this.

  • @shutdafup Madonna will never create anything this awesome. Just listen to 1:40.

  • @jumpinjoe88 I have been listening to LOVE+Arthur for a few hours here in LIVERPOOL UK where it is 06-27 ....... "when I was in England Town- the rain fell right down !!!!" & it is falling right down now.

[[[ I am sad because there is people who feel that Madonna (!) could even begin to make this fucking amazing song come alive ...........]]] ♡♡♡

  • @jumpinjoe88

    What's so amazing about 1:40? :S

  • A thought in my head, I think.

  • wow madonna ripped these dudes off cold!!!! william orbit is THIEF.THIEF

  • Hmmm..Gee, I wonder where Madonna/William Orbit got the idea for the hook for "Beautiful Stranger" from? Yep, a real head-scratcher....

  • @galaxyhigh73 WHAT A RIPPOFF TO THIS GROUP

  • It was the middle piece in between two Rolling Stones classics; first influenced by "Lady Jane" and subsequently influencing "She's a Rainbow"...

  • fantastisch!

  • A perfect masterpiece of a song.

  • Lovely song :)
