  • I've been having nightmares about freddy will i die now??

  • What is this song called?

  • the remake is a lot creepier, the original freddy is more cartoony and comical

  • @OsaKaboom No, the original freddy AFTER the first film is cartoony and comical. I don't really like any of the films except the first, and the second is still "Freddy" but nowhere near the original. The rest are just pathetic and "comedic". Wes Craven didn't make the sequels (except New Nightmare) so yeah...

  • everything about the original nightmare on elm st. is better than the remake lol

  • Both versions are awesome. Specially the new one, because Freddy appears like a real monster or a ghost. Something like that.

  • @halofernandez0029 Plus, it shows a flashback of Freddy getting burned alive!

  • @Dinoman217 True

  • I like the original more. to me it seemed more realistic and scary rather then new one having CGI. but the remake made more sense

  • The remakes score does not suit a Horror film. It sounds more like an adventure or fantasy score. The original is the better film and has a much better score.

  • Been a Freddy fan for a while and whilst I agree that the remake wasnt as good as the original in any way, the new actor and angle on the story did do it some justice....

  • @Maxmotor2009 yeah exactly. that new movie was not better or as good as the original but it was pretty good.

  • Oh come on, guys.... The remake's score is not bad. It's just not the original.

  • i think the problem with the new score was that it did not include something recognizable for Freddy. He did not seem to have a powerful leitmotif for himself. The score overall was good, but there was nothing iconic for Freddy himself. What i mean is, you hear the original and you know Freddy is coming, i hear the new one and i .... well.... dont. AGAIN, not bad, just ineffective i think.

  • The orignal film is better the remake soundtrack is WAY better.

  • I prefer the remakes score. Its more mysterious. O.o

  • I like the newer main title, but I like the original movie better.

  • I've listened to the original and the new score. And i grew up watching freddy movies.I am now 31 and the original score still sends shivers up my spine like they did when I was younger. I'm not saying that the remake is bad. It just doesn't get to me like the orginal. And my husband agree's with me he likes the original score also

  • Non c'è storia il primo nightmare è qualcosa di unico irripetibile, basta con sti remake scoglionati.

  • remake sukked!!

  • @mikskee1406 I agree. Was rather pathetic.

  • Best 2 scores ever made......Period

  • @TheScamp44 I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to say, because of the sentence structure, but this is my response:

I don't think the "fake effects" are terrifying. Just overused and cheap.

But Holbrook bursting from the ceiling was great. Looked really neat. However, i judge films on quality in plot, script, acting, characters, true thrills, etc...not special effects.

  • @TheScamp44 Mmm I really don't like the new effects. The CGI is really bad in this film.

  • O_O wow, NancyThompsonOfElmSt is on here a LOT. ^^ Yay! More freddy views! Honestly, I think BOTH scores kick total rear- I mean the original is like a classic chiller song, but the new one is a dark and f-in creepy symphony...meh, either way, both creep me out a great deal. ^^

  • @dragonholder411 Yeah. what can I say....I'm a big original fan.

  • the original score is so eerie & it sends shivers down my spine. I freakin love it.

  • @mrspeed7v =) I love it as well.

  • Both are creepy. But the original is classic and will forever BE a classic. The 2010 film will never be up to par with the original.

  • @TheScamp44 The originals are horror icons. The new one is good, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original.

  • I just don't know whom should I believe anymore...

10 of you said new is better

other 10 said the old is better...

guess I'll have to watch them both...

  • @MSK2232 The original is a classic. Watch both...but I assure you that the original will be forever...just like Freddy himself.

  • the first one is wicked and dark, the remake is wicked and dark as well... its like comparing apples and oranges.. 2 different movies ima huge freddy fan i love them both..

  • @Abi969 please suck a dick

  • @TheScamp44 the new one is scarier only because of the special effects..but the story is repetitive and one thing that i didn't like is that some names of the protagonist change..this is not nice!!

  • @pulcippo Because of the special effects? Compare the wall scene of the original and the CGI shit in the remake. Everyone I have spoken to, including remake fans say the CGI is terrible.

  • @NancyThompsonOfElmSt ououou just a moment!!! i also prefer the old one but i think that people who didn't saw the old, like the new! but i like, better i love, the original nightmare!!

  • @pulcippo Your comment here would now have been known simply by your previous statement.

  • @pulcippo i grew up on noes, and i love them all even the remake. i love the remake for the simple fact that its freddy' i was just happy to see something new

  • @bevdogg88 i agree with you! when i knew that there was another nightmare, i was on the 7th heaven!!

  • 2:47 Welcome to prime time bitch!

  • Freddy started off scary as shit then slowly become more humorous and scary.

Only Wes Craven can create such a awesome character.

  • You're lucky you new cocksuckers are too scared of my young daughter seeing this. Otherise, I'd let you BITCHES HAVE IT! HAHAHAAHAHHHAHHHAHHAHHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wish that in the 2010 movie they applied more burns to his face instead of just his cheeks

  • i love the original FILMS, but the soundtrack for the remake is awesome

  • I'll give credit where credit is due: Steve Jablonsky's piece is a worthy NOES remake music piece. Although the music sucks, I can praise this guy for at least doing his part of the movie better than anyone else can (besides Jackie Earle Haley who obviously knows how to act).

  • this helps me sleep at night. am i o.k?

  • Comment removed

  • they're both good but extremely different when I hear the original I think of just pure evil and the newer on when I hear it I think of mystery and super natural which is good because the 2 Freddy's are different so the score should be different

  • The original score by Charles Bernstein is a masterpiece, but the adaptation of Steve Jabolonsky is darker and sad, in my opinion, it is adapted to musical instruments and voices of children and not to synthesizers

  • God, I love the original's score =)))) So eerie and truly nightmarish.

The remake's one is good too. It has the essence of the ANOES universe with the chimes and the voices.

  • amityville 2005 was one of thier better movies.

  • 2010 score not as memorable.. i think its with orchestra.. sounds more like the score from a sequel to Nightmare.. my god steve's score sounds abit too Zimmerish. sounds abit like The Ring's score.

  • I really was dissapointed with this movie and ecspecially his makeup

  • @bleachxx

    same here.

  • i feel sorry for the kids he molested it wasn't their fault freddy is a perv

  • @ali902100 it was a fiction movie

  • the 1984 one is more scarier and more creepy

  • @TheMovieMaster17 yeah the score of the remake sounds too similar to The Ring.. u can deftly hear the influrences of hanz zimmer

  • @BRm2008 yeah.. also the 2010 theme would be a good theme song to the amityville horror

  • f this. The remake is soo much better!! Well in my opinion, I pretty much loved everything in the remake than the original. Though the original is what originally made me a Freddy fan.

  • @horrormovies101

    crazy.

  • @horrormovies101 Original = classic. Remake = not.

  • to me the 80's film wasn't so bad because in that time they didnt have good electronic devices so 6/10 on that 80s film now in 2010 i give it 10/10 for it use of illusions and the ending seen that shit was funny as hell wasnt scary to me

  • The Original one is a better movie and has better music

  • I'm not sure if it's fair to compare these two pieces. The first one was created ENTIRELY with synthesizers, whereas the new version was clearly performed by an actual orchestra. Realistically speaking, the synthesizers in the original create unsettling, unnatural sounds that suit this film more than any sound from a violin or cello. Charles Bernstein's score IMO is superior. One night I listened to the original NOES soundtrack in total darkness laying on my bed. It changed me as a person.

  • @revokdaryl1 lmao, it scared the shit outta you too i see.

  • The only time I heard the original theme, from what I could remember, was after the opening kill when they flashed the title. That was the only moment I heard the original theme.

  • I don't understand why they had to change the music so much. Look at the Halloween remake, they kept the original score for the most part with a few of their own compositions.

  • His claw looked the sharpest in Nightmare 4: The Dream Master

  • I enjoy Steve Jablonsky's music but his theme for this film feels weak, and that's not comparing it to the original. Even on it's own, the 2010 theme isn't very frightening...the original honestly gives me chills every time I hear it.

  • The new one is very good and well made, haunting, creepy and sad. But the classic is better. It is simply sick and disturbing.

  • @DarthSparhawk my thoughts exactly, but i think that more work was put into this one for this had a chorus and was orchastrated while the original was made up almost entirely by synthesizers

  • I like new Freddy played by Jackie Haley, but don't forget Robert Englund!

  • @kermitliberiliberi Robert Englund himself actually praised Jackie Earle Haley's take on Freddy.

  • @movinitlikedat45 Not necessarily. I've seen him praise Jackie as an actor, but in several interviews he doesn't give positive feedback.

  • Both are brilliantly done. They both have a feeling of unease. But I do have to admit the new version done by Steve Jablonsky is to me more compelling and has a certain body to it that the original had.

  • @navyboi09

The original has a classic score and theme music that certainly did not come out of the 2010 film.

  • the only thing i was disappointed about the remake of elm street is tht they didnt show freddy making the glove like it did in the original.

  • I never watched any of these freddy krueger movies.... so should I watch the original or this new one?

  • @MSK2232 You definitely want to start with the original series.

  • @AngelofMusic04 I liked the old freddy more then the new freddy :/

the new one was alot more violent thats not what the movie was about

    old was definetly better

  • @MSK2232 forget the new one till u see the original first..

  • @MSK2232 this will scare the shit out of ya

  • @MSK2232 nooo! watch the new one!

the 1st one sucked lol I think itz just becuz itz really old :P

  • @Abi969

The original is a legend. The new one has practically died off.

  • @MSK2232 both.

  • Watch The Original Movie

    It's Better Than The Remake

  • @MSK2232 Remake is sooooo much better

  • @L7MuSiC That's why it practically fell off the face of the earth, right?

  • @MSK2232 watch all 9 movies

  • @MSK2232 The first one is creppy as hell, and had Johnny Depp in it

  • the orignal

  • I love the original score, but just "like" the newer score.

  • i don't think the new one sounds as "nightmarish"

  • Jablonsky's score is so much more professional and more haunting!

  • @yronline Charles Bernstein created an iconic score that is greatly recognized. Part of it appears in the remake during the title sequence. Why? Because thew original score is so iconic and brilliant!

  • I don't like Jablonsky's score. It sounds almost like he's trying to copy Christopher Young's score for Drag Me to Hell. Bernstein's score is very much a classic, through and through. It will always be the definitive theme of the franchise, much as Carpenter's theme will always be the definitive theme of Halloween.

  • Remake is better he actually gets to the point and fucking kills you :)

  • @akumatekkusu666 yeah but where the suspense? the wierd and freaky dreams?

  • Jablonsky FTW

  • THIS IS SOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL BECAUSE IT HAS REAL TUNE TO IT NOT JUST WEIRD NOISES IN THE BACK GROUND :)

  • @deppissexy The original has an iconic theme! WTF are you talking about??? It's brilliant and captivated the feeling of nightmares SOO MUCH BETTER.

  • original is better. can't beat a classic!

  • Old one gives off a sort off unsettling sound but the new one is very dramatic and creepy. To be honest, I think both sound great in their own unique way.

  • I personally think that they're both good

  • NEW IS BETTER DEAL WITH IT!

  • @xenover aggreeeedddddd 100% :D

  • original i can remember for hours on end new theme song is 'Meh'

  • im not Freddy fan,but damn except theme and graphic new Nightmare sucks for me

  • jablonskys = way better

  • both are good but the scores fit the movies they go to so technichly you cant compare them

  • @360GamerHere the new a nightmare on elm street wasn`t as good i though, im aussie to and i was angry that they made him a pedophile D:

  • @mudchyplysys That's what he was in the original script. Wes Craven thought a child molester would be the worst possible thing, but the people around him said that was too much. That's why he's only a killer in the original series.

  • The old one is way better than the new one O.o

  • @mudchyplysys I totally agree

  • 1st one sounds like shit 2nd fits the movie better

  • @911jesse 1st one is iconic. Classic. irreplaceable. They may have created a remake, but it doesn't come close to the original.

  • each one is good for the purpose it was made for:

the fist one matches the original movie, intorucing us to a nightmarish atmosphere of fear and to a terrbible feeling that there is no way to escape from it

the second one undertones that something dark is going to happen at this movie and that there is a spooky secret hidden that we, the audience, are unaware of!

as a music i prefer the second one. and i can say i really liked the new one

  • 1:07 to 1:18 is in the remake for the title, i almost exploded when i heard it.

  • I hate the remakes but this is good compared with anothers xDD

  • 4:45 - 5:28 Gives me the chills

  • 2:45 - 3:00

    PRIME TIME BITCH!!!!!!!

    such a memorable quote

  • yep original robert englund all the way

  • The new one sounds very much more scary, and bone chilling.. 0_0

  • @KATANANINJA It sounds sad. Not nightmarish.

  • Steve Jablonsky's score sounds like it would of been better for a Tim Burton movie. Not that is a bad thing, it just doesn't sound like a NOES score to me.

  • I have not seen the new one yet, but it does not seem like it will be as good as the old one, because I have seen the old ones, but in the new one i saw a picture in the paper, and he (Freddy) had his claws coming out of ALL of his fingers, and last i recall, Freddy had his own glove with just four fingers having claws. (Yes i might not be making sense but I am only 11.)

This movie will not be as good as the old one, BUT I am still exited to see the movie and I hope you are to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The original one is tons better then the new one. I am a bit dissapointed with the new one. While I do admit it's creepy...it just doesn't feel right. They should of just made a updated remixed version of the original.

  • @Berniewrestle Agree 100%. I like Jablonsky's theme a little bit, but it feels so standard. Bernstein, he plays against genre conventions to create something truly memorible and unsettling, such as Elm Street or The Entity.

  • @AngelofMusic04 What are you smoking man!? The old one just sounds.. "old" not better. Actually the old one sounds miles worse.

  • @LordSande the new one has that emotional feeling, that literally captivates you..and anything you think about..starts to feel to the theme of this song. DARK, MYSTERIOUS... and just kinda bad..and close to freakky.. and sad at the same time

    its beautifuly dark ;o

  • @AngelofMusic04 ok part of the original theme plays when we cut to the title screen, right after Kris screams "DEAAAAAAAAAAAAN!" when Freddy makes Dean cut his own throat open.

  • @Berniewrestle they kinda did in the begnning of the movie after he kills the guy you hear the classic remixed theme a bit

  • @Berniewrestle i totally agree

  • @Berniewrestle they could have hired a better msuic guy.. J peter Robinson is a better composer.
