  • needs 3 more blowers lol

  • yeah, this makes me drool

  • I used to build this entire detroit series for the navy for ground support equipment!

Those detroits.... they are the shit now buddy!

  • I have an old detroit on my machine at work and it is a 3 cylinder two stroke detroit with a blower, now my question is that turbo or blower on your oliver?

  • @hitdapipe Blower

  • @hitdapipe all detroits came with a blower. they need a blower to run. a turbo is optional.

  • my lawn tractor goes faster

  • best tractors made

  • I spent a full day on one those and i could not hear anything at the end of the day

  • is that a 3point hitch?

  • @Jrcaseman sorry.......

  • wowww! great

  • rpm???????????????????

  • Love that sound, ever plow or do any field work with it?

  • Jesus if its this loud without anything behind it whats it sound like loaded?

  • Thank you for the update

  • The 71 Series top end is 1800-2100 rpm.

  • Isn t this a 1950-T?

  • No the 1950-T had the Waukesha. The 1950 had the 4-53 detroit like this one.

  • Wow, how many rpm at top? :)

  • The DD 53 series, 2800 rpm top end. Some people mod them to rev to 3200rpm, but they tend to deteriorate quickly at those revs.

  • Holy shit, we gotta McCormick MXM125 with the 359 Cummins and that runs around 3,000 RPM.

  • haha i know about those terex's with the 471's, theres one that works by our school with straight pipe you can hear the thing inside the school, i think everyone on the work sight wears ear protection because of it :) i love it

  • sounds like two stroke diesel. is it 3 or 4 cylinder?

  • 4 cyl.

  • that is a 4-71 the 53 doesent have the ragged rev up like the 71 and the 71 has bolts on the covers

  • it is a 453

  • @nitro74cs with detroits, the 3 numbers stand for 4 cylinder, 53 cubic inches of displacement usually written 4-53

  • @nitro74cs that would be what the 4 in the 453 stands for. 4 cylinders at 53 cubic inches each. its supercharged

  • @ackermanfarms No it is not supercharged, it is blown. Yes there is a difference.

  • i had a neighbor back in the 70s and 80s with an oliver, thats what it sounded like all day long,i could hear it while disking on our 560IH Gas! another neighbor had a ford with a bad turbo ahhhhh those where the days!

  • @digzie1 ive got a 560 gas. theyre gr8 tractors. they sound gr8 too.

  • Where did you buy the Oliver from. I sold an 1950 Oliver in 2006. That tractor is sharp. All I know of what happen to the tractor is it went somewhere in WI.

  • those folks at Detroit know how to make an engine. our 1970 michigan 55 loader has the same engine and it has over 15,000 hrs on the origonal engine

  • by the way it revs and the exaust note i vote 4-71 cause most terex scrapers have em and that make quite a sound exactly like this

  • Sounds alot like a 318 with strait pipes. Awsome!

  • cool the john deere 435 diesel has a 2-53 gm diesel in it i have a freind who has one they just replaced its water pump and it runs again

  • That is definently a 4-53 Detroit. Oliver never made a tractor powered by a 4-71. It would take a lot of modifications to even make a 4-71 fit in a 1950.

  • No, not really , they fit quite well! lol

  • Yea you're crazy. You have to make some modifications to put a 4-71 in a 1950. We've done it and believe me it doesn't just bolt right in like you make it sound.

  • No man I'm not crazy, I never said its a bolt in fit did I? But hell, you use a stock bellhousing to do it! Make some mounts, fits in the stock tub. Dallas, you're not the only one on here that "tweaks" olivers!

  • Did I ever say that I was the only one on here that "tweaks" Olivers?...Exactly no I didn't.

  • my grand fathers got a 1950 oliver and they can make a man hard of hearing. DN

  • sounds like a mini 12v71 love it

  • Man is it loud or what!

  • Sounds good brings back lot of memories!

  • He sure could wind it up just like a fiddle string!
