maladroit is under-rated but their new album is't that bad. however make believe and red sold out in my opinion. not as bad as green day but hey it did make them a lot more money
madadroit is ok and i actually really like make believe but it was the begining of the end. Raditude is horrible though and red album has like 2 songs that i can stand without thinking of some stupid person singing it

The first two albums are fantastic. I think we can all agree there. However, there's a big difference between doing something different and shoving a horse's cock down your throat. After Maladroit, which is alright, not amazing, almost everything is complete shit. I would rather gargle jizz than listen to Make Believe.
i know everybody rips on everything after blue and pinkerton, but you cant write the same shit over and over, you gotta do something different, and they did....
Pinkerton was the best by far, blue was good. I listened to Maladroit and Green but not as much as the first two. Judging by the singles and what I've heard, Make Believe and Red aren't worth listening to.
Green was O.K but nothing beats blue and pinkerton. all these kids are probably too young to actually know what those albums are so they defend the shitty stuff so valiantly.
im sorry but i disagree a bit, the blue album was actually released half a year before i was born but i still know what the blue album and pinkerton are, and i still think there are some good songs on some of their newer albums
Agreed. Make Believe has some of the best Weezer moments ever. ..Yet it has some pretty terrible ones. But the great parts save the album. Just skip a few tracks and you have a pretty solid album.
I think red was complete bullshit. I cannot stand it. "Heart Songs" was the only song on that album that I actually own.
1.Blue
2.Pinkerton
Those are the two that I like, the other albums are all over the place. I like a few songs on Make Believe like "Perfect Situation" and "Haunt You Every Day". Perfect Situation reminds me of the Blue Album.
Some stuff on Green is good, some stuff on Maladroit is good, but Pinkerton and Blue was almost ALL good songs, flawless almost no duds.

your fucking retarded all of make believe was freakng awesome greens good too you just havent listened to it enough, red wasnt bad either. you just have a dildo in your ass because you want everthing to sound liek blue and pinkerton, well listen faggot he doesnt wana play the same shit for 15 years fuckign appreciate it isntead of complaining like a fucking bitch
lol why aren't you arguing at the fact that weezer doesn't perform like this anymore? Rather than cry about how much a failure the red album turned out to be. They have nowhere near this much energy on stage anymore.
Pinkerton was the first Weezer album I ever listened to. So that'll always be my favorite. "In The Garage" is my favorite song of the blue album though. Does anybody know where this video is live from?
one word makes weezer great "original" have you ever heard anyone say these guys sold out?........didnt think so they sound like no one out there always have and thats one of the big reasons i love these guys
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
actually ive heard a few reviewers call them sell outs. There new shit sucks dick. I don't understand the whole meaning to the red album. Its like this wad of random shit smashed together. Blue and Pinkerton will always reign supreme. I really hope you don't love weezer when they're singing about the greatest man that ever lived or when you see the drummer singing.
so i guess your being ignorant and close minded.I've listened to it and gave my opinion. So i guess you can't accept that someone doesn't like the album as much as you do.
Am i the only weezer fan who really liked the green album, cuz i loved hash pipe, island in the sun, dont let go, photograph, crab, and smile. they are over the top awesome.
EVERYONE HAS THERE OWN FUCKING OPINION ABOUT WHATS WEEZERS BEST ALBUM, SHUT THE FUCK UP NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY YOU CANT CONVINCE SOMEONE TO CHANGE THEIR OPINION TO YOURS. wow..
idiot! how could you say that... the blue album is *clearly their best work. pinkerton was so drab and stale in comparison. every song on the blue album is a hit, there's like 1 or 2 really good on songs on pinkerton but they would be considered the skipable tracks on the blue album. and I'd take the return of the rentals over pinkerton anyday.
I'll take the mature songwriting and cohesiveness found on Pinkerton. 1 or 2 songs? are you mad? when the worst song on the album is Getchoo... you've got a fantastic fucking album. An album with enough fucking balls to divulge in any topic it damn well pleases.
It's their most refreshing and honest work, Rivers will never attain those heights again.
The Blue Album is just pop music, it's not bad music... but to call it better than something as phenomenal and influential as Pinkerton is wrong
so you think say it ain't so and undone are pop songs? you call it w/e you want but there's better, catchier songs on the blue album... they do the vocal rounds in a few songs and have bad ass guitar solos and riffs. pinkerton was too artsy fartsy for me...
both albums are pop music, weezer has always been a pop band.
the difference is that one album appeals to everyone, and another album is insanely rewarding beyond simply being a good pop record. It's an aural attack, an album that wasn't afraid to be refreshingly honest and often brutal.
Pinkerton means something, it's a statement record... it may be the greatest album of the 90s.
you can call it artsy fartsy if you like, but it just makes you look like someone too dumb to get it.
too dumb to get it? ok there dbag, maybe you're too dumb to 'get' the blue album and see why it's clearly the better album. quit arguing with me, it's not a debate it's just a matter of opinions. so you're saying that say it ain't so wasn't a brutally honest song?
you're mistaking me... I love the Blue Album, but Pinkerton is just in another world.
Say it Aint So is probably the only truly honest song on the Blue Album, it's also the album's best song... so I fail to see your point... if anything... it's a sign of the maturity and themes that were coming on Pinkerton.
Pinkerton is an album of Rivers Cuomo attacking his own flaws, and that ultimately... is it's genius
that and musically, it's just better. It's a beautiful sounding record.
dude you can say w/e you want but the blue album sold a hell of a lot more than any other weezer record and it's truly a classic rock album...the songs flow very well in the next, whereas with pinkerton the songs are so different from the next that it's hard to get in to the entire album. critiquing your own flaws doesn't mean you're genius...maybe he just had self esteem issues.
why do hardcore weezer fans consider the demo/blue album to be the golden age of weezer then? that's because those were the best songs they've ever written.
I'd say casual weezer fans consider the Blue Album to be the golden age of weezer.
real fans know that the golden age of weezer was 92-98.
but there's a little period in that period, in which they made an album that was just incredibly unexpected and special.
Pinkerton is so good, that I hate weezer for it... it's so fucking hard to make fun of them for sucking so hard when they achieved something like that.
honestly, Rivers needs Matt Sharp just like J Mascis needs Lou and Murph
Is that a purple guitar Rivers has? Ohh, I like it! By the way Pinkerton and Maladroit will always be the two best cd's of Weezer. They just are! Not to mention there are some underappreciated great songs on Make Believe.
Ok, I just went through my weezer collection and reviewed the blue album. I am sticking to my origional statement; however, there are some really great songs on the blue album too. Weezer in general is just sooo freaking great!! :)
Only the fans do. It was met with a horrible critical response, and sold like shit when it first came out. It's only started selling decently recently because of the "emo" movement.
Weezer's website has a list of of the equipment they've used. They say that the red SG Brian is using is a '63, they also say that some people insist it's a '66.
El Scorcho is the best song of Weezer!!!
and then Undone - The Sweater Song!!!

Pinkerton isn't exactly musically diverse, and that doesn't make it any less amazing.
critiquing yourself is a big step of maturity for any songwriter, one that Rivers lost upon the commercial failure of Pinkerton.
Sales do not matter, it's fucking music man... some of the greatest albums of all time will never approach platinum, Pinkerton being one of them.

why do hardcore weezer fans consider the demo/blue album to be the golden age of weezer then? that's because those were the best songs they've ever written.

I think its just the stage lights, his guitar isn't necessarily purple.

Only the fans do. It was met with a horrible critical response, and sold like shit when it first came out. It's only started selling decently recently because of the "emo" movement.

It's a Gibson Melody Maker in Cardinal Red, probably 1966-67.

Weezer's website has a list of of the equipment they've used. They say that the red SG Brian is using is a '63, they also say that some people insist it's a '66.
