First of all, opening up your Xbox 360 voids the warranty if you still have one.

Second of all, that Xbox was "brand new" that's the arcade version - those didn't come out until after the Elite did - so they have the new hardware which means you won't RRoD. I have a 360 Pro with the HDMI port - I haven't RRoD'd and I've had it for two years now working on my last year of warranty as well. (Bought thru Sams Club here in California.)
