  • Still one of my favourite Motown tracks.

  • This track reminds me of a girl friend Elaine Kane I was with for a while in Barrow in Furness England in the late 60s

  • A slower, more soulful track that demonstrates the vocal versatility of this fabulous group. What a shame the Contours never cut a version of 'What Becomes of the Brokenhearted'.

  • I absolutly love this tune it has to be my favourite by the contours!!!! thank you for the post

  • Thanks for posting this great song.

Dennis Edwards is at his best on this.

Love the lie "A walk in silent solitude"

    The great songs never date.

    A true Motown gem

  • HELL YEA IMMA LOZER AND BELIVE ME IT SUX ASS BEIN ONE ITS US LOZERS AGAINST THE WORLD AND WURR THE ONLY ONES THAT DONT MAKE THIS STOOPID WORLD GO ROUND

  • I love the contours, what great music and great memories of the good ole days!Thank you!!!

  • true classic one of those songs i remember as a teenager and trying to get hold of a copy in those days was impossible so thanks for posting and to all the other posters of great classics

  • Classic Contours, KTF...

  • its so hard...being a loser

  • the wheel KTF

  • this was one of my late wife's

    fav tunes

    thanks for the memories

  • yes what a classic hey!!

  • I too am from Detroit (Eastside) one of the last songs I remember before the Detroit Rebellion in 1967, Dennis Edwards could sing

  • I searched for this song for over 40 years! At that time I also thought to be a looser! It was so interesting being a looser! Now I have won everything I wanted. Now I only reach for God!

  • I remember being at a club in Torquay in 1969 and remembering someone requesting this for all the Man City supporters .... live on

  • THE FINAL RELEASE from the Contours, released by Motown on March 9, 1967 - it peaked at number 79 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April/May of 1967-

  • Top track from a top group. Cheers

  • top track

  • What a beautifully sad song.

  • One of their best songs!

  • Thanks for posting this, I haven't heard this track for over 30 years. Amazingly I can still sing along to it. Must be The magic of Motown.

  • this was the last tune dennis recorded with the contours, before he joined the temptations,he was not an original member of the contours

  • I've always loved the Contours, now that they can dance!

    Watch me now, huh!!! ;D

  • how many leads did dennis have when he was with the temptations

  • wow, i mean the contours

  • The Contours have a special place in my musical heart.

  • MoMagic'59,

I was born and raised in Motown, turned 18 in '67 and remember the Contours well. Great group. Don't recall this song though. Thanks for posting it, keep up the good work.

  • I envy you living in Detroit, you must have visited Hitsville? The reason you don't recall this track may be because Motown issued different singles here in UK to the US as they were more popular for some reason here. Some were only issued in US as they thought they wouldn't be appreciated here etc I used to be a DJ in the 70's and got very many 45's from Motown, (I'm glad to say), they are rare too some of them today! Thanks for commenting.

  • Nice Dennis Edwards lead

  • Yes, he had a very recognisable voice, especially later with the Temptations.
