to me the scales and three fin helmet of the king's gard were more conected to dragons(scales, horns) perticularly the three headed targaryan dragon(three heads=three fins). the kings gard didn't make me think of fish.
I wish HBO would get in contact with the association for renaissance martial arts (ARMA) to get some help with their fight scenes. Authentic looking fighting is way, way more entertaining to watch than "filler" fighting.
The fight scenes so far in game of thrones have been basically a stand in, only worth as much as "there was a fight here".

wow, i just cant believe the amount of effort and time that the crew have put into making the series look so spectacular! im happy it paid off coz it looks amazing!! good job
@archacon42 Honestly, you have probably never seen anyone that tall in person. People of that size don't come by that often, especially those that would fit the role of Gregor Clegane.
@archacon42 Andre the giant at his highest supposed height was 7'4. Not that much bigger then Conan. I honestly think they got the best guy the could have. There aren't that many people 7 foot + in the world, and out of them only a few have a muscular physique. I do wish they would have pointed out how big the dude is better then they did. It doesn't help that his battle with Sandor is a dude who's 6'6 =P
It's hard to find people that work well and are that size. The Mountain and the Dog are both described as unnaturally huge men, Gregor in particular. And yes as mentioned he is over 2 meters tall and very strong. I think they made the right choice. He certainly looked menacing as hell in his armor. For the most part the choices of actors are amazing. The only one I actually, visually disagree with, is Queen Cersei. She's a natural brunette and blond is just bad on her..
all great, but one costume style for the north and one for the south? what about the vale, the tullys, dorne, highgarden, freefolk....ect? i hope they dont stay with that simplification once the series keeps going.
@julsdarulz I'm of the opinion they're putting a huge deal of work into this entire miniseries...it's not a movie, and their budget isn't endless. The fact that everyone looks how I imagined, the locations look amazing, the armor and weapons all have as much detail as they already do...we can't ask too much more. Have you seen the first 14 minutes that were put online? If the entire series looks as amazing as that, you can't complain. You might find some different armor detail later on though.
