I found this novel called The Suicide Game that feels like a Tarantino movie and even has a character that seems to be Tarantino himself. It features a black hitman, a murderous priest, and a gay phone sex operator. I downloaded it for free at smashwords . com and it was awesome.
I saw this opening weekend -it was a day or two after Christmas. I was blown away by it back then,-but not nearly as much as I am today. It was WAY ahead of it's time. Instantly iconic. A true classic that stands the test of time. Pam Grier is legendary. Tarantino is at the top of his game with this film. As with most Tarantino films, (Kill Bill especially), Jackie Brown was somewhat critically overlooked...but I think it grows in appreciation over time. It ages like a good wine or a great Scot
No doubt, Pam Grier should have won a best actress oscar for her scintillating performance in Jackie Brown. However, she wasn't nominated and Helen Hunt won for her ridiculously one dimensional performance in As Good As It Gets.
You might also want tto check out True Romance, which was written by Tarantino before he made Reservoir Dogs, and is really great. Death Proof was probably his weakest offering, but if you get a chance to see the entire Grindhouse double feature with fake trailers, it makes the experience much more enjoyable.
this is one of QT's best movie imp
