  • I dislike. Capoeira is firstly demonstration of frienship and spirit... not just beating each other. This "full-contact capoeira" sucks :(

    translate to english

  • CAPOEIRA LIGEIRA E BRASILERA!

  • this another one of those comment pages full of haters. :sigh: I am leaving you guys alone I will watch the vid and enjoy and shut my mouth like on many other comment pages like this one.

  • I see many retarded close minded people, I bet no one here could bet any of those guys. And if the problem is which martial art is stronger, I would just buy a fucking shotgun and shoot IN THA FACE.

  • People need to stop being so stupid...you say that Capoeira is not a fight just because you don't see them hitting each others for real, right?...that's why Capoeira is awesome...the skill and the agility of these guys make they do those crazy sequences without that.....it's not the real Capoeira, it's just a show, if you ever get a chance of seeing two Capoeiristas fighting for real, you will see how fast and violent it can be...after all, that's all you like...

  • Breakdance fighting?!?! You homo that style of fighting has been around for a few centuries

  • They're breakdance fighting!

  • I want my child, some day I'll have one, to learn capoeira. He/she may get bullied. they'll start 'dancing', they'll get laughed at. They'll destroy their bully and never be picked on again.

  • Actually, it doesn't all depend on the fighter, I'm pretty sure martial arts depend on the environments, as something requiring large and powerful movements may not be the best in a forest and something that relies on speed would also be weak, depending on the flexibility of the fighter. It also depends on what you're going up against, as certain martial arts are weak against others. It's like one big f*cking Pokémon battle <.<

  • @thunderstorm997 That was the most kickass analogy ever.

  • @katesie98 Well, I thought it fit ;). Glad you agree :)

  • this has to be the least applicable martial art in the book...

  • Capoeira is awsome. :D

  • Most effective Martial Arts for fighting 1v1 in a cage are BJJ and Muay Thai in my opinion, but Martial Arts weren't all designed for UFC rings, certain Martial Arts have existed for hundreds and hundreds of years and are for all different kinds of situations and reasons, anyone saying you couldn't defend yourself using Tae Kwon Do or Aikido are wrong, anyone saying you could always defeat a Capoeira fight with BJJ are also wrong, it all comes down to the fighter.

  • capoeira is not for fightin, this shit is wrong.

  • @koblack capoeira . html planet . com/ capoeira_ hist. h t m (Take out the spaces) Just a little history on capoeira. If you don't want to read it I'll just tell you that yes, it was developed as a martial art and was used originally for fighting.

  • Different martial arts styles are better for different situations. It also does depend on the fighter and how much they have trained.

  • Hello smartasses, try to take 10-15 Capoeira lessons, and after that take 10-15 lessons in Wing Chun, you'll quickly notices that the martial art really matter, and all that bullshit that its the "fighter" who that matter, hes only does about 15-20 percent.

  • nice they are dancing.

  • martial arts was made for protection, inner peace, and confidence. not to beat people up with it. if you want to be a bully then you will always loose, because you have none of the above.

  • In a real fight, a capoerista would not do this artistic things. I am playing Capoeira for 4 years now if you ever tried to do some of this kicks full contact on boxing bags etc. you would realize how much power und effectivness is in this movments.

  • @zaqueujr WTF???? Capoeira from Brazil O.O???? ok champs lets go u pro

  • Every martial art, when practiced, is choreographed. And yes, playing in a roda is practice. The good things that a roda teaches you are the energy of the fight, how to relate to different people's styles, and practice your moves in a (relatively) safe environment. If you get in a fight and you train how you practice you're gonna get fucked no matter what, because you train choreography, not adaptation. - 1 year of Capoeira, lifetime of JKD

  • Its like Break dance fighting, but not as cool......

  • @beanhill74 you're saying that break dancing is not as cool as capoeira, right?

  • where did capoeira originate?

  • @Jetgui22

Capoeira originated in Brazil by slaves was also utilize to defend

  • @Jetgui22 Brazil. Portuguese african slaves brought to Brazil and created capoeira along with brazilian tribes.

  • this is awesome

  • Debates about anything amuses me.

  • A lot of people don't seem to realize that this martial art is a bit "showey" because it was disguised as dance. Something about slaves/prisoners trying to hide that they were actually learning to fight. Or something... ( >.<)

  • be careful, you should never underestimate ant fighting style...

  • This martial art looks awesome, like most do XD. I believe that the martial art that a person likes the most is the best for that person.

as for mma, it's not better, just because it has good things from most martial arts. If you've seen people fight like I did, you know what I'm talking about.

still I like this Martial Art, it looks rather peaceful.

  • mixed martial arts is way better WAY BETTER

  • @Taquee19 since MMA is not a style, but a combination of styles, you can practice capoeira along with another style and you'll be practicing MMA, rendering your argument invalid.

  • Capoeira é uma dança

  • lol, stop acting like one martial art is better than other... it's the fighter that matters not the martial art , bunch of stupids lol, and go on a real fight with a capoeira pro before start saying shit out there.

  • @MegaBrittin thank you!

  • @MegaBrittin that is so not true :D 1 boxer or 1 wrestler will just come up there hit him once or twice or the wrestler will just take him to the ground for a spleet sec and there goes the capoeira :D

capoeira is not a martial art its a jump-around-gymnastic-brazilian stuff:P

  • @pointtheblame wrestling isnt fighting, also you are an ignorant uncultured child who doesnt belong here

  • @pointtheblame Capoeira is a dance style Martial art.....mostly used to fight using your opponents weaknesses and basicly dodging or counter everything thrown at you

  • @pointtheblame, dude, i wanna see you taking a "Flying Hammer" or a "Corta-Eucalipto" (Capoeira moves) on your face and saying this stupidity again...Capoeira isn't just about acrobatic moves...there are grabs, holds and even fatal blows on it...so, do not talk crap about Capoeira...you don't know about it.

  • @pointtheblame, no offense though.

  • @felipe21279 i know enough i dont mind you liking it i mind when someone tries to convice me that all the show off jumping around acrobatics etc can match a judo , a wrestler , a boxer , krav maga muayi thai etc . Those are real martial arts that are made for really doing some leathel damage to your opponent capoeira is to jump around impress someone ( dunno who) do some abs mb do a flip or 2 thats it :)

    Non taken :P

  • Comment removed

  • @pointtheblame...and over 30 defensive, you REALLY don't know what ur talking about...for your information, a single "Armada" or a "Martelo" in the head can make a man fall unconscious, a "Corta-Eucalipto" can brake a neck, a "Martelo"+"Benção" combination can knockout a man...before saying those things, try to LEARN, please, don't be a intolerant...i like and respect all Martial Arts, you should do the same, because Capoeira IS a Martial Art.

  • @felipe21279 dude that maybe true that his can brake your neck that can knock u oui etc but the problem with capoeira is that is not efficient like the other martial arts because of all the dancing around its nearly impossible to break the deffence of someone like Fedor Emilianenko Veskez or Silva with a dance like that :P they will kick the shit out of you while you are doing a flip or something thats all im saying NOT EFFICIENT for the hit power i can agree with you

  • @pointtheblame, XD...i think a scene of the movie "Never Back Down" made you think that a Capoeirista need to do flips, jumps and dance to actually fight...you don't even need to do the "Ginga". All those movements are just show...they don't hit each other because the slaves "fought" in that way, it's a culture. Slaves were so united, they would never hit a "Irmão de Cor" (the treatment they gave to other black slaves). That's why Capoeira is different. It's not a dance-based Martial Art...

  • @pointtheblame...it's a Martial Art hiding in a dance...

  • @felipe21279 youtube.com/watch?v=R8FJyScbV6s&feature=related there it is reality :)

  • @pointtheblame, HUH???...seriously, where in the world it was Capoeira???...that guy REALLY sucks, he don't even know how to do the "Ginga", a kid Capoeirista can do better than him...he's SLOW, don't have any skills or experience; how could you be convinced by that???...dude, you need to visit Salvador someday....

  • @felipe21279 excelent :D

  • @segashizerouser, thanks, XD.

  • @MegaBrittin well said padawan, you are on the road to mastery of the force with this attitude :)

  • @MegaBrittin Finally! Someone who agrees with me!

  • @MegaBrittin I agree with you to a certain extent. However each style usually places emphasis on a certain part or aspect of fighting. At the same time a skilled fighter can overcome the weaknesses in their style so yes in a way you are correct but there is still a need to acknowledge each styles differences.

  • in a real fight you wouldn't dance there around like a monkey.

  • this isn't a fight. this is a dance

  • @cocon227 We're Americans. We take something take something from one country that looks cool and hip. But if it doesn't work out for us we bitch about how bad it sucks and what not. Sorry.

  • A bullet will win every time

  • put them against UFC fighters and they would just get their asses kicked , just a show :D

  • @luke111194 look at this

  • @luke111194 do u know a brazillian fighter called "anderson silva"?? he´s yellow rope in capoeira, go search, u´r just saying that because u dont know what a fight is, you don´t even know how to punch, so keep your amateurs coments just for you.

    lol

  • Yeah remember that one Capoeira MMA fighter that was champ for like ever?...

Me either cause Capoeira is fucking stupid.

  • si me gusta

  • i didnt know Eddy Gordo knew the Shadow Clone jutsu :\

  • I have a question, this stuff is definaltly pretty for an entertainment perspective, but how would it fair against a pressure fighter who wouldn't allow such ariel displays Like a gracie type ?

  • @mweagle777 Depends on the fighters...remember its the fighters, not the style :) Respect to all martial artists.

  • @Unjesue I have respect for all styles, but most fights I've ever been in end up on the ground and I was wondering if a person could close in, and it goes to the ground what then? You have realistic martial arts, then you have hollywood . It seems to me, alot of hollywood here. taekwondo for instance has alot in it's arsenol to stop one from getting in on them but if an MMA fighter took them down without the ground skills your done. Question is do i wanna look good or survive?

  • @mweagle777 survive what? the ring? or the street? and TKD doesnt have anti ground moves any more than boxing does. Stand up arts dont spend time on the ground. Hence why MMA trains both. And if your in a MMA fight, generally its in a ring and 99% of the time both fighters have ground game and striking game. I have never met a MMA fighter with no ground game, reguardless of if they knew capoeria or not. so mute point.

  • @ikcjjtt Kimbo Slice

  • @TheTriple88 who i dont consider a MMA fighter. He was more of a joke. and he didnt know mixed martial arts. fighting in an Octogon doesnt make you a mixed martial artist. It just makes you a fighter. Knowing striking and grappling art forms make you a true mixed martial artist.

  • @ikcjjtt lets face it, capoeria is 90% show. It's a joke. I cant see it working in either street or ring. Put it against judo and watch what happens.

  • @mweagle777 capoeria is 90% game. its not designed for the street OR ring, its made for the hoda. and its played as a game. Its about a conversation between two fighters. Thats how most of it is taught. Just because it doesnt fit in the ring or street, doesnt make it a joke/useless. Fitness kicking boxing doesnt either, but its purpose is to give a great work out. Now some legends say capoeira started out as combative, but there are no written records of it back then, and its changed since then.

  • @mweagle777 Once again I would have to agree to an extent.I mean in a ring I can't fight to my full abilities since there are rules against favored techniques in Capoeira. Out on the streets there are some moves that are dirty that I would use in a situation like that (considering I was in one not too long ago). In an MMA fight you don't see eye gouges, throat punches, groin shots and they don't allow the 12-6 elbow. But these are common moves in Capoeira. If you wanna chat more send me a msg :)

  • Great cardio, cool dancing, interesting culture study, not effective fighting - comparatively speaking. It could whoop the ass of some neophyte know-nothing. But an MMA fighter? No chance.

  • I think capoeira in MMA would actually be useful. It teaches how to be calm and have flow. When you combine calm body movements with aggressive attacks it confuses people. Its actually a main aspect of fighting called polarization. Also the sparring they do helps them to dodge kicks and such. Its more of a secondary fighting style though, you would need some sort of other stand up martial are in combination with this.

  • @Tinsletooth You should look up Marcus Lelo Aurelio. He is an mma fighter whose only style is Capoeira. He trains with Axe Capoeira under his father Mestre(Master) Barrao.

  • @Unjesue I watched his vids, his 20 second KO was sweeet. Definitely one of the most flashy KO's ever. I can see its benefits in fighting, but in my opinion if you going to fight world class people such as anderson silva with just capoeira you will be defeated without any other fighting styles. One of the weaknesses I seen when hes fighting is people seem to grab his kicks alot. Mauy Thai fighters are trained to grab kicks and once they have you, you're pretty much done. Risky style but deadly.

  • @Tinsletooth I would have to agree with you to a certain extent;I mean different academies train differently.Where I go to train we practice on both avoiding leg grabs as well as counters...and I've caught my Muay Thai friend with a few. However...learning another style is a great asset regardless of your previous art form.My teacher is teaching us (the more advanced students) jujitsu to help with our ground game and we each practice our own versions of stand up thru sparring.Respect and Axé :)

  • @Tinsletooth No offense, but it's not in MMA for a reason. It might cultivate things outside the ring, but exposing your back even for a microsecond in MMA will get you killed.

  • @zacktillery Actually since this comment I found out that my favorite fighter Anderson Silva has capoeira under his belt. This could explain his mad flow.

  • @Tinsletooth He also has tae kwon do, but he uses neither in his fights.

  • @zacktillery Just because he doesn't look like hes using them doesn't mean he isn't. Every martial art is unique and has benefits to a person as an overall fighter. Learning how to move around is the essence of capoeira. The way Anderson Silva moves is with ease and unorthodox. Just because he isn't crouched like a monkey doing tornado kicks all the time doesn't mean he does not use those fighting styles. If you took them away from him he would not be as good a fighter, that is a guarantee.

  • @Tinsletooth If you took away his muy thai, he wouldnt' be good. If you took away his black belt in Jiu Jitsu, he wouldn't be good. It's all these things that make him a fighter. Yet, i still think he would be a phenomenal fighter even without the capoiera. Dude, listen, i think capoiera is awesome, it looks awesome. I don't want to be disrespectful, at all. :( I love you and all people and i give off the worst impression ever when i talk.

  • First time ive seen it used properly - very nice to watch :)

  • whats the name of the music?

  • @aelf1 Sao bento grande de Regional. It's a rhythm in Capoeira :)

  • @ unjesue........EXACTLY!!! I practice taekwondo and have two frinds, one whom practices wing chun and one training in jeet kune do.And it's the exact same thing.Awed by eachother's techniques, though we have much in common. And lots of sharing tips.

  • whatta hel ?

  • this is a beautiful art. :) I don't care who says what, this is great excersize and anybody who can kick as high as that is a dangerous weapon, not to mention they can use their aerobic stamina to wear out their opponent who is flailing their arms around....it can be very effective and it looks like so much fun!

  • @caioasump you have to excuse me but I am not familiar with this at all. If it is a fighting style then so be it. It just kind of looks like some sort of dancing idk. How do you know I would get beat up? That's quite an assumption to make when you know nothing about me lol.

  • Lol who's the retard now

  • looks like they're being polite. I saw them hold back when the other guy messed up a couple times, and they slap instead of punch... The etiquette is a little different when no gear is used.

  • :DD

  • Ummmm this isn't fighting

  • @PawneeStud i see you would get beaten up by now ;d its good for us that other people think capoeira is not a real fight... good luck for you =]

  • are they calling this a fight?

  • @leonardomessi1000

I had to translate your comment but you're right, they'd kick my ass.

  • This is a beautiful brazilian art

  • @6124h4

You fucking hater. Search about this fight style and you will know that the slaves in brazil was hidding martial arts under dance becouse they needed to defend thenselves but fight was prohibited.

Maybe your culture can look like a gay thing to others too. Watch your mouth asshole.

  • @zucchot

    typos with foul english words

low down that rage, take a deep breath

browse your online english dictionary and retype your comment please

  • You fucking hater. Search about this fight style and you will know that the slaves in brazil was hiding martial arts under dance becouse they needed to defend themselves but fight was prohibited.

Maybe your culture can look like a gay thing to others too. Watch your mouth asshole.

Doesn't matter my english. I respect the culture of all people and i sugest you to learn a little bit of respect and i will learn more of english language.

  • Eddy gordo(tekken) anyone

  • not as intense as i thought it would be... this seems more like a sparring match cuz this has both of them not tryin to kick too hard... if they practiced more their dancing/fighting style would be lethal to a normal untrained street fighter

  • I once had one of these guys in an mma match. they are useless against even noob BJJ

  • @jtsalsman BJJ is the best, what are you talking about retard?

  • @MrIndigoRS

maybe you should learn how to read before you speak, i clearly said that even noob Bjj can beat capoeira. Meaning that capoeira sucks balls. I am BJJ, we be on the same side man.

  • @jtsalsman well a noob BJJ guy can beat a boxer if he gets him to the ground. But i dont know of any capoerista who also doesnt train in BJJ. I mean they both are from Brazil...So a BJJ noob is simply more likely to not get to the ground in the first place, and if he does- he gets tapped out.

  • So many things gay about this.

  • looks like they are having fun, but when the one guy swings his leg it looked like it would kill the other one if he hit him in face..

  • what a great way to waste all your energy in a fight! kick the air... lol

  • why the hell are all the capoeira guys ripped???

  • @lelaki88 why not!!?! They are guys so probably want to be Hench for show and they are probably also quite strong.

  • @lelaki88 Because it really needs intense training to do all those moves. You need a very strong core in capoeira. Moreover, it requires presence of mind and rhythm.

  • @suakerock

fyi, I wasn't just talking about the packs, their pecs too, are built. it like they do some weightlifting, you kno?

turn out that all of those air kicking are useful... at least to get ripped lol

    gonna try them sometime.

  • @lelaki88

Well, they do weightlifting--that is lifting themselves.

  • @suakerock

well if you do some weightlifting than you'd know what I meant.

It needs repetition and appropriate weight. didn't see much of them in capoeira dance. at least in this video.

  • graceful fighters. capoeira boys are awesome!

  • now you can look awsome and beat your enemys to a pulp : )

  • After the fight do the guys Lambada?

  • get out of here just for this fight and their foreign xispa Forgas Brazil

  • thats some wwf shit

  • This is dumb.

  • wow! now these are some real copoeira Fighters!

  • So what next? That idiot is gonna say brazilians don't know much how to fight for real? Octagon folks may disagree...

  • uma merdaaa

  • Eddy Gordo!(; hahahah

  • I'd like to point out something for some of the people that doubt the usefulness of capoeira. One of the most useful things taught in capoeira is reflex and adaptation. It hones the reflexes cause you need to be quick since a kick can come from virtually any position at any time. It also teaches you to adapt and react. A good capoeirista learns the ability to turn bad positions around in his favor in an instant. It may not be the first choice for a street fight, but it teaches valuable skills.

  • Capoeira men are the sexiest mothasuckas in the world!

  • i never seen Capoeira in action. only in partner sparring

  • @sk8r9871 u bastard im brazilian and capoeira it's a dance with kicks and jumps and all the capoeira fighters have respect on each other ¬¬

  • @sk8r9871 why don't you take some classes?

  • @sociomike id rather do a martial art that is actually useful
