This was a ritual workshop to give people IDEAS on how to develop their own "dramatic" ritual. It was meant to be fun, and we laughed alot and had a good time making this. Don't be so serious people...
As a pagan that has little to no access to much of anything concerning paganism where I live, I have recently found youtube to be a great resource for seeing how other pagans do things. This video and ones like it help me connect with other pagans. I really liked this video and I'm glad that people are putting their rituals (even the rehearsals) online for others to learn from. Thank you. :)
Hey, it looks like you guys had a lot of fun, and I hope you did because you don't have to be serious around sacred things. Joy and excitement don't make anything less respected. I liked the song, but I wish we could hear the lyrics better. Great job for the lack of prep though!
I wasn't impressed at all. Too fragmented and the music was irritating. When all is said and done, perhaps the Great Rite has no place on amateur video with accessibility this easy for minors. Public persona is critical these days to gain the credibility we deserve as Pagans. This video diminishes us as a whole.
how does it diminish us? wicca/paganism is growing by the day and with access like this for minors then its helping them to realise its not like "The Craft" and wheather they prefer to stay or not is totally up to them, but the ones that do are our wiccans and pagans of tomarrow
to the maker of the video... i respect your concept for this ritual. however, as a wiccan and as far as i know, the great rite is a sacred ritual for wiccans as this ritual shows the union of the god and goddess and should be done with great respect and seriousness. as i was watching the video, i can't really concentrate because there's so much turning. everyone in this video turns. they made me really dizzy. and i have to agree, the music seems to be inappropriate for this kind of ritual.
And as a wiccan you should know that rituals work best when the people of the coven are having fun, without the fun the rituals would be pretty dull.. being able to laugh, sing, have fun, ect is what sets us apart from the mainstream religions, yes theres times to be serious, and the great rite for most part is, but you cant discourage what they did, things work differently for different people.. haha Blessed Be :) )o(
Do all neo-pagans perform rituals to gay techno music?

I see this isn't the traditional way, but nice ceremony, anyway.

the music just didn't seam "Pagan enough" I probably would have used something from Enigma. But other than that interesting!
