  • You can use Chili pepper over black pepper for a spicy chicken but I highly recommend spending the extra $ on Sesame Oil. The flavor is essential for Chinese cooking and a little bit goes a long way. I use it in almost all my stir fry too. Delicious.

  • black pepper and chili pepper are both spicy but have different flavours..i guess that one is up to you. however, i don't recommend veg oil in sub for sesame oil; they're absolutely different i'm terms of flavour.

  • i made this a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. really suprised how the sauce really permeated the meat with flavor. so easy

  • I did make it, it came out just okay, I think I needed to put it under the grill as opposed to the oven, I will try it again on half a chicken.

  • I made this today and it was excellent! Crispy golden skin, the juiciest roast chicken I've ever made!

    I think marinating it for the 6+ hours really helps. Mine sat overnight.

  • I love cooking! Am totally going to try this, but I will use a baby chicken (whole chicken is too much seeing as there's only me to eat it) will let you know how it turned out.

  • Wow, that look good. I'll just have to try making it. I also recommend chopping up lemongrass too! It smell just delicious.
