It doesn't sound even close to the original. You need to use the flange 50% less so you can hear the natural sound. If you count in 2 bars(8) you engage the flanget on the 3rd and 4th beat out of 8 beats. But good effort
i know its completley different but can the x3 sound like a tube amp cause i might get a jsx but hurting cash so i might go for pod farm or x3 what are the pros cons? planing on getting van halen tone guns 80s rock ect
And love pedal purple plexi 800 is better than all these shit pedals put together. Actually I have an MXR micro amp pedal and it is fucking awesome. Okay yeah better than Vox shit.
@Gurut2009 ive played a gt-10 extensively, it seems it has alot more BS effects than the pod. lots of things you'll NEVER use just to get their effect count higher.
I know a lot of van halen now, How do I play along with the recording without the guitar part? I would like to record some songs but I don't want to play along with the guitar. Thanks
wow, i followed his settings he put in the description of the video into my x3 and it sounds even better in person. excellent job finding this tone and great playing!
how good of a PA you need to get a decent live guitar sound? i'm considering picking one of thse up for the ease of transportation and appeal to the versatility of our setlist. My gut instinct still says go with the real tube amp and some boutique stomp boxes though.
I only use the POD at home for practicing with headphones! I tried the POD over our PA but it sounded kinda "weak", so I stayed with my good old tube amp!
I think for a good live sound with a POD you should use a power amp with tubes(not the cheap transistor stuff) and a good 4x12 box! So you only use the POD as a "preamp"
Yes, good sounds on customtone is like finding a needle in a hay~stack. Almost everything submited has too much treble/harsh distortion. I play electric~blues, so having to make most of my own sounds too. I havent owned this X3L very long. I was pretty let down because straight out of the box I didnt like 1 patch it came with. Hearing stuff like yours keeps me from giving up though. Going on my 3rd week building presets seting it up for my band's playlist. Cheers Dave~~~
Dont give up. I almost threw in the towel on my podxt but I think they put those presets in to show off what it can do. I think it takes a lot more computing power to run a mod, delay, stomp, gate, etc. than just a practical sound... like what most of us are wanting :D I dunno how long you have been playing or how you have been going about editing so far, but I started looking at what the artist I was trying to sound like played (or artists that had sounds I liked, or could build off of)
Thanks for the comments guys! I absolutely agree with you! I mean finding a really good tone on customtone is quite dificult.
I recorded this track with my first "cheap" guitar(yamaha pacifica with stock humbucker!!!) and was surprised how good it sounded! And there are no other effects, only 2 tracks(backingtrack and the actual guitar-recorded through the soundcard of my notebook!!!)
I didnt use the POD as an ASIO-interface for this recording because my notebook was too slow!
needs more mids i think also when your playing this the opening after the first like 777 to the 8 on the b you go to the 333 to the 4. you did that but after you hit the 333 to the 4 pull off to the 3 again and the same when you do the 555 to the 6. (and yes i probably realize im the only here that understands this as it is extremely complicated and doesn't make a lot of sense...)
I posted the settings in the video description! But you can also contact me for the orgiginal Patch for the POD, so that you can transfer the tone easily via Monkey or Gearbox!
That sounds almost perfect. I'd cool off on the flange a little though, there is just a tad bit too much in there. Got to let the guitar shine through a little, ya know? But other than that it was pretty rockin', good job!

You mean a "tutorial" how I make my own tones(patches) on the pod for a special song?
OR do you mean the settings for this tone? If yes, look at the description...it's all there very detailed. :)
