How to seed?

someone told me:after your downloads are at 100% just leave them there, in utorrent..that's it... don't remove them (as I always did)..

BUT! my files go to my downloads file, and I don't keep my music, movies or whatever there..I move my movies to my movies folder, music to music and so on...

but i can't move them since "another program is using them, can't move right now"

so, how do I cut/paste my downloaded (let's say) movies to my preferred movie folder and still keep seeding?

Im trying to seed my own torrent i created. In peers it says: 11 (82) but in seeds it says 0 even though i followed all these steps. Also the status just says downloading and its only 0% done. Occasionally the downspeed pops up as like 0.8 or something but go away quickly. What am i doing wrong?

@magarize It's good to leave a torrent seed until your ratio is at 1:1 maybe even 2:1 if you can wait that long.

@magarize Also as to the amount of time you'd have to seed, most upload speeds are capped depending on your ISP or modem/router. The average upload speed is 15-25 kb/s. They key to seeding is really just patience.

@BruceLeeRock25 It does not really. The only time I think you're at real risk of getting caught is while you're downloading or if you've installed your downloaded material wrong. By that I mean not going through the proper steps if you've downloaded a game and not gone through with overwriting cracked files. Other than those 2 events which should really never happen to you, you're fine.

@justkid415 Unfortunately no. There is no way to download a torrent what has no seeders. The best you can do is ask the uploader of the torrent to seed his own torrent. Once he seeds you can download, once your download has finished I suggest you yourself seed the torrent. This way if the uploader decides to unseed again like a douche, someone else downloading the torrent will still have you as a seeder and thus the train of seeds begins.

@carson0524 Yeah with the latest version of Utorrent, just leave it running when the torrent has finnished & it will start seeding. Leeching is stoping the torrent after it has downloaded & not seeding. You should seed to about 3:1.

My trouble is the torrent files has to many leecher and it's only has 2 seeder until i can't complete to 100% so it's stuck at 99% forever...So is there solution for that because your video shows that the files need to be completed until 100% before we can seed it.

this is a strange way... Normally after downloading a Torrent on 'Utorrent' It should start seeding WHILE downloading, and seed even when it is complete. You can re-run a check without deleting and adding again

Check your Port is Forwarded Correctly to Seed properly!

wouldnt it just be easier to just download the file you want and after its done downloading LEAVE IT THERE??? cuz it automatically starts seeding after the download is complete... you dont have to go through the whole process of clicking remove and looking for it to put it back it puts it to seeding by itself

Yes. If the status is set to seeding then it obviously must be seeding.

Torrents don't finish seeding. You're seeding it to help other people download a file faster. When more people seed the faster someone else's file downloads. But if you feel comfortable with making the process slower for someone else, just right click and select remove.
