  • How hard would it be to build a clean and safe orphanage for 5,000 homeless children with all that oil money coming in. The government has 32 Billion missing, they could have built a 1000 orphanges with that kind of money. The child takes him aside and ask for help, but they are not their to help, they are there to just exploit your misery.

  • As a proud Angola national, the only thing I can say is thanks this production for the courage demonstrated in doing such illustrative documentary. Most of the people in this country suffer what others do to them. They do not choose their situation, they do not accept their life, as the production well said "they do not have guns to fight their regime". Their only hope does not live on the United Nations but on the fire they all have to believe in better days and better live conditions

  • Angola, officially the Republic of Angola is a country in southern Africa bordered by Namibia on the south, the Democratic Republic of the Congo on the north, and Zambia on the east; its west coast is on the Atlantic Ocean with Luanda as its capital city. The exclave province of Cabinda has borders with the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Are we clear NOW???????????????

  • Angola is part of the South of Africa, please get a map of the continents , and verify for your self

  • It bothers me when journalists or others in general speak of the American people broadly. When they generalize that Americans and their empirical ways are causing the destruction of other nations they assert that every single American plays a conscious part in said countries' demise. In fact, the vast majority of us are unaware of this and those few that are are almost powerless to stop it. Boycotting fuel, refusing food, etc. doesn't do any direct good unfortunately and some feel helpless.

  • All most of of the oil goes to China

  • Look at these people. How they live, for years, not days, YEARS. And then you get some american girl, that cries because she doesnt get the right color lexus. Seriously, where is this world going to. I feel very bad for these people and really hope, that when I go to andola, I can make a big difference. God bless

  • American empire... LOOOOOOL

  • "27 years of war" America created the atmosphere for the war to start. America encouraged Apartheid South Africa to attack Angola. Now that Angola is destabilized America can suck Angola dry. America is EVIL. Africans need to wake up and fight for a fairer world. FXCK AMERICA!

  • Looks a lot like the Bronx. I guess they live like this everywhere.

  • Don't trust that nasty man..Run!!

  • this is from 2004! 7 years ago!

  • All the countries in the world are interdependent globally, so dont come and see Africa as corrupt or depend on US aid notion than ur not intelligent at all. The United State and Angola depends on each other whether u misinterpret it your benefits we do business together in SADC. In order to understand African countries progress, you should check in their Government Gazette & newspapers whoe are the true information sources of the magnificent African continent.

  • If these rotten Americans ever turn their graze towards Angola, we will fight them. We don't like them, need them at all. They are filth and evil.

  • @shussey100 True. the US and CIA backed the South African's to invade. Even when peace was restored the US kept supporting Sivimbi. On a real macro level he US now are economically strangling Angola. Obviously they want the oil. However Angola will pay a huge sovereignty price.

  • @shussey100 The American government already did their damage. Today, international oil companies (American, French, British, Chinese, and Italian, to name some) are just handing over money to the Angolan government. Obviously the foreign powers had no business helping Angolans slaughter each other for decades. But today, its foolish to blame Americans. Someone will buy that oil. You know they will. And the corrupt Angolan officials will skim lots of money off the top, you know they will.

  • @shussey100 Why would say such a thing? Have you been there, do you what its like. You better shut your mouth

    -An angolan

  • fucked up fucked up fucked up fucked up fucked up

  • WHY, why do struggling people have children with no means to support them ??

  • @ HenrySims the way you say its like you guys don't depend on other countries to survive,i wish all the countries with oil would stop selling to USA then we gonna see, hater

  • @acmlussoke Yeah, would like to see that too, my country is currently investing in natural resources, 52 % of our elecctricity is based on natural resources energy, soon enough oil will be over

  • sigh i live in the empire. i'm still in school; angola will be on my top visit list past grad school. mck sounds kewl and the citizens obviously want schools and improvement. how to educate the children?

  • Africa will never change!!

  • @Mrcbclobster not with that attitude ;]

  • Dont say that cuz it will change even tho their r some street homeless kid's what do u wanna say that USA r other nation's dont have such rejected kid's it will change and it is changing..unfortunately i do not agree with ur opinion and i'm very patriotic.....Godbless

  • Greed and Corruption. What do you know ...

  • there is jus too much greed in the world, some ppl r jus meant to serve while others r masters

  • so r u gonna sit done and watch..... r work with ur country.....and help those who need?

  • blood-oil

  • /watch?v=nDYQf6CIO2k&feature=related

  • Everythin is about money... just live angola alone and return to ur country, even him, hes did this report for money.... if ANGOLA WASNT RICH WHO WOULD CARE ABOUT THE COUNTRY AND THE PEOPLE?

  • /watch?v=gZ-gw4AWpW4

    Watch now the short history

  • difference entre poor et riche will may be reduce in future with hard work and conscientisation of the poor and the rich

  • I don't blame the rapper for singing about what he sings about. Angola needs more rappers like him.

  • Angola its not West africa dude , its Southernwestern

  • @acmlussoke

very true. definitely incorrect to use 'west africa' considering that term invokes the ghana, ivory coast, benin, etc region

  • @acmlussoke correction, southwestern

  • @acmlussoke

It's still west dude. That's like saying the state of washington is not on the west coast because it's not California.

  • Rampant corruption is happening in most countries around the world. There should be a move 2create an international organization that will check&balance the incoming and out going profits of every country,it is obviously easy to plunder by just bribing government officials. Although it will affect the sovereignty of a country, if it's for the good of the majority why not?but i know who the fuck will agree to such an agreement if it means cutting off their authority to plunder in their country!

  • Thank you for the truth... sometime i wonder if God can Help us from ZEDU...

  • Take the oil and let those semi-retarded monkey kids starve.

  • @moojeed No wonder America is colapsing, at least Europe helps the undeveloped world with nothing in return. I just would like to see Angola stop giving you your precisous oil and kick your fat ass americans back to where they belong.

  • @HenrySims Take the oil and let those semi-retarded monkey kids starve, especially Henry Sims.

  • @moojeed yeah I am sorry to disapoint you but I do not live in a third world country and I would never fell starvation. You on the other hand should die with aids, starvation and all thing that is bad in the world you fat ass american

  • @HenrySims You still might starve. When your countrymen get around to expelling all of the niggers and Muslims, they might send you nigger-lovers with them.

If you were really paying attention to Angola, you would know that it is China's new frontier, not America's, and they will strip the place and nobody will do a goddamn thing about it. At one time America would have saved them, but now most of my White countrymen hate niggers. They don't care about those semi-apes. Fuck Angola. Fuck Africa.

  • @moojeed My country would never need expeling muslims or black people because we barely have them here but if you look at the USA you are full of them !! Plus I dont see what is the big difference between angola being ruled by USA or China, they are both impearialistic countries and oilsuckers, let the World be ruled by European Unions, at least we are not invading any country and we have way better foreign relations than you.

  • @HenrySims Yeah, right, you Bozo cocksucker. There isn't a single country in the EU that isn't being overran by goddamn niggers and Muslims. Also, there is not a single country in the EU that doesn't have a rapidly growing anti-immigration movement. I hope they ship your nigger-loving ass to Africa when they get around to chasing off all of your nigger boyfriends.

  • @moojeed Tou are saying that we are a bunch of raciscts but you are the one saying "muslims and niggers". You know how much wrong are you ? We are not muslims and never will at least in my country, here in Portugal the muslim comunity is something like 0,01 of the Total population. So good luck in your crazy theories

  • @HenrySims You Portuguese pukes are all part sand nigger from when the Muslims conquered the Iberian Peninsula in the 5th century. They took over and did a whole lot of fucking. No wonder you love those cocksuckers so much. You are part Muslim nigger yourself. They already had their way with your women.

  • @moojeed Firstable I am not muslim, I am catholic christian and I don't know anyone muslim. That was four laughing right ? We expelled muslims on the 12 century, and we are 99 % chritian so yeah we love muslims, we love them so much that we don't even have them here ! If you want to say something about a country get kowned his history first !

  • @HenrySims Yes, Henry, you have monkeys up your family tree. You and all of your brown-eyed, curly-haired part-nigger countrymen.

You are the one who needs to learn your country's history. Men from other parts of Europe chased the Muslim horde out of the Iberian Peninsula. Your ancestors were too scared to do it.

Finally, I must point out that if you only have 1% niggers and Muslims in your country, then you have no idea what it is like to live around those cocksuckers, so shut to fuck up.

  • @moojeed Ahah I have even less then 1 % of muslims and black people in my country so I guess that I am pretty lucky. Oh and by the way, you are seeing the descrition that you made about me ? All wrong, ahah I am blound and have green eyes, and most of people here have blue or green eye colours. You are just jealous because our society is more whiter than yours. Also, we did most part of the job kicking the muslims asses out, its all on history just read it.

  • @HenrySims I read your history. You guys grabbed your ankles when the Moors invaded and you didn't do much to help chase them off. If not for the French, you weak bitches would still be under Muslim control.

I've been to your gay ass country and I saw mostly people with dark brown hair and brown or hazel eyes. Don't judge your whole nation by your inbred village.

Why do so many of your countrymen walk and gesture like homosexuals?

  • @moojeed all right first : That homo jockes have absolutely no fundement, and by the way, your country is the one who likes homos and black people and muslims. secondly, yes we did had help of the french people, but we did most of the work, at least the portuguese did most of the job. I am actually impressed, no american knows so much about european history, I mean you americans think that Africa is a country and stuff like that. You are all so much dumb

  • @HenrySims Actually, Henry, the vast majority of White Americans don't mingle with niggers, queers and Muslims. We are more segregated than you think.

You can't believe what you see in American movies because Hollywood is dominated by queers and nigger-lovers and they are attempting to make all of us think like them. I think that we will have another McCarthy era before long because many of us are fed up with the faggots and socialists who control so much of what we see and hear in America.

  • @moojeed I doubt that, in fact in think that your country is pretty lucky in having Obama. I mean he gave health care to people who coulndn't afford it, he's also helping the environment and trying to correct what the Bush administration did it. I mean, we (people from the developed countries) are very lucky in having health care and transports and all sorts of stuff that countries like angola don't. Some countries were just ment to be colonies. They were much better under european rule.

  • @HenrySims All that Obama has accomplished is pissing the voters off so much that the Democrats will be swept from power in Congress and possibly the Senate in November. Obama's health care fiasco hasn't gone into effect yet, but has already started to drive up insurance and health care costs. Over half of our states have sued Washington over provisions in the law. Several states have passed laws to prohibit the implementation of the law in their states. Obama is not poular here anymore.

  • @moojeed Lol its clear that you are a republican right ? Well we, here in Europe see Obama with "good eyes" he had a big effort in the states about the health care although so many people was against him and about human rights too, mostly about guantanamo and the iraqi war. Bush only did shit and you have to admit it, the financial crisis that came out was under is mandate. You might be republican but we all to say the US and the even the world is far better since he became a president.

  • @HenrySims Portugal is 5 hours ahead of New York, 6 hours ahead of Chicago, 7 hours ahead of Denver and 8 hours ahead of Los Angeles. We have 4 time zones in the continental states.

  • @HenrySims please don't pay attention to moojeed, he represents a tiny % of Americans who suffer from down syndrome, it maybe caused by our tap water, we're looking into it

  • @whatsgoingon07 yeah, thanks, the worst thing that people like us from developed countries can do is discriminate them for being poor, as western citizens, we must help them and prevent this kind of things from happening, Africa isn't just oil, it has much more to offer and so do us, although I think they could use the infra-structure that colonisers made to make a better future with them, instead of destroying it, now they have got to start from the zero again, the best thing to do is help them

  • @HenrySims No, I am not a Republican. I dislike them almost as much as I dislike the Dems. Both parties were responsible for the economic crisis. Both parties parties pressured the banks to give mortgages to unqualified applicants. Both parties supported Freddie and Fannie, who backed the "NINJA" loans to niggers. Both parties supported legislation that permitted Freddie and Fanny to bundle the bad mortgages and sell them as "derivatives". Both parties pressured AIG to insure the derivatives.

  • @HenrySims never say never

  • Os EUA não são exemplo a seguir para Angola, nem sequer aquele " american way of life" com gastadeiras em fast food e consumo de 50% do petroleo produzido.

  • I think this presenter's introduction of Angola as a West African country is wrong. It is located in South-Central Africa lol.

  • angola isn't part of west africa. it's on the southwestern coast and is considered to be a part of southern africa, isn't?

  • @youngatheartgirl : you are right.

  • @youngatheartgirl no it's central africa

  • @wiibot15 Angolans refer to their country as being in southern Africa = "Africa Austral." Divisions such as western, central etc. had to do more with colonial divisions and the way historians later refered to these regions. The truth is that it happens to be on the western coast; therefore referring to it as western is correct, but not Western with a capital letter as it would imply the colonial designation. It's a really beautiful country by the way.

  • Angola is Portugal! And I'm glad to know that Portuguese are going back to Angola to bring her up again. The US, the Russians and their communist allies whom feed with arms the rebels just destroyed what the Portuguese did over 5 centuries in Angola to foster a 40 years long civil war and exploit Angola's resources for their own benefict. But wouldn't be the military coup supported by the Russian communists in Portugal to overthrew the Government and Angola would still be a prosperous state.

  • @rmo18 And prosperous Angola will be, just like before 1975.

  • and why is not chevron cleaning the pollution that they are creating ?

  • is not a new frontier. America has been interfering with Angola since the early 70`s with only 1 intention. The good thing is Libia had to pay 2billion Stirling for celling explosives to IRA. Well ow is time for America to pay to Every angolan for all the damages caused by their mines

  • paradise viva young friends viva buzz

  • The oil industry... The main reason for the "UN" aka "US" not to worry about destroying a 5 century old empire and the lives of millions... People there did not want the portuguese out through war. People in Angola wanted independence through phased, structured stepping out from their brother portuguese people. Staged rebelions in the north Angola caused a carnage that endured for over 4 decades. Angola ain't America's next frontier; Portugal it's Angola's next European frontier (PERIOD)

  • @XTENSion911 Absolutely!

  • The average lifespan of people in Angola is about 38 years, the age of my teacher.

  • DOES HE SAY ANGOLA WEST AFRICA?

  • @ridim2007 It is? Angola was like the Portuguese West African State. Check it up. And for everyone who speaks badly about Portugal way of colonizing - in all true, we were the best colonizers among the European powers. Check the videos about the Mozambican capital, Maputo, which was known under Portuguese rule as Lourenço Marques. It was a huge city, and now is a poor wasteland. The same goes for Luanda (Angolan capital). Then again, they wanted their independence... here they have it.

  • @AvatarMarxon90 So you r trying to legitimize Portugese colonisation of the country?

Secondly Angola is not West African country..

  • @ridim2007 I never said that? I said, Angola was called as PORTUGUESE WEST AFRICAN STATE. Check it out, before you comment. Anyways, I guess I was clear - I'm not a fascist, nor some frustrated Portuguese dude that lost everything in Angola. But if you try to be arbitrary (which obviously you can't) in history of Angola, both Angola and Mozambique were far better under Portuguese rule than what they have become.

  • @ridim2007 In the colonial war, countries such as the USA, Russia and Cuba, participated at the side of the rebels... a war that didn't have anything to do with them. So, why did they came in? Answer: oil/ influence spheres; although Portugal was already a NATO member.

I'm not saying that everything was perfect. Portuguese did abuse on their responsabilities to Angolans and Mozambicans - but if they were given a degree of authonomy, both regions would be perhaps the most rich in Africa.

  • @ridim2007 Even during the colonial war (which spans through the early 60's to mid 70's) - the capital cities of Angola and Mozambique, especially their nowadays capitals (by their old Portuguese names) Luanda and Lourenço Marques; registered an economical advance/ development never seen before. Check it out, search - use google mate.

  • You guys dont give a fuck. All you Americans want is oil. We give it to you and now that your oil is over you suddently move yourselves to Africa. I think its time to do your part because you helped destroy our country with south Africa and now fix what you destroyed or at least help us with what you are good at. You want to control our country but you do little to help we are doing what we can with the little that we have left from war

  • to ALL who have seen this video, I ask that each try their best to contribute to a better society, whether ANGOLAN or NOT! Because people build a government, a country, a nation! Stop arguing and start doing YOUR PART!

    Thank you

  • @Brancaxxincxx

    how do we get organised?

  • It's sad how even years after this was made, the government is still as corrupt and the people are still in poverty as they were before. I don't live there now, so I don't know all of the details, but I have lived there before, and my father works for Chevron in Cabinda. He told me that there is a lot of grumbling going on, and there could possibly be a coop if the government doesn't change it's ways. It's a shame if they'd have to suffer through more after so many years of war.

  • More than enough, in not just Angola but Africa period in terms of potential of wealth through investment.

  • If that bitch nigga "dos santos" and his compaign provided a foster care homes from these children who suffered under his bullshit war, I believe they wouldnt be in this position. instead, he's thinking more about his daughter and son creating buildings from upper classic people, having private jets and telephones companies.I love my country to death but fuck the system. the funny thing is that they dont discuss this on tv.the other guy was right, the country has more night clubs than libraries

  • @OrionetsiriusI dunno what youre saying but Im far from white and now I came to a conclusion that this british guy have no business checking my country untill he shows how people in hackney, peckham and brixton are living. that goes for America too, help your people in new orleans, south central and brooklyn first before helping my people.

  • @0Moreno0 What I mean is. Next time you vote. Vote for a different president. A new face. To see a change. This time. Vote for a president without kids. So he will give everything to the people of our country

  • @Orionetsirius That wouldn't change anything - and besides, corruption started when the revolutionary groups of Angola fought for power, and the communist cancer spread in ex-Portuguese provincies. I know that not everything was perfect, but then again, Angola and Mozambique were better under Portuguese rule - and it would have been even better if they were given a degree of autonomy such as Hong Kong. The problem is that interest from America, China and Russia stripped those countries apart :/

  • America brought 9/11 on themselves and they sure as hell deserve it. I wish I could plan another 9/11 to show America who is boss! Their time has come! Death to the West!

  • anogola is in southwest africa, not west africa.

  • Is truth, only truth

  • Kick America out!! They and the West are nothing but devils in disguises! They'll take with 1 hand and take with 20000000!!!!!

  • @vixxy02 I agree. Let these people starve. Have other people feed them.

  • Maria looks mulatta or creole

  • Angola should bring a strong African American force into the country

  • What will that do? Theres already enough people coming into Angola to get a piece.

  • African Americans need to expand and one piece of that country could help both the Angolans and the African American. We can help them develop their country.

  • How? China, India, and Europe are already scrambling to take everything they can.

  • @makkool

african americans can barely help themselves let alone another country. Also, don't by into the properganda of some of these documentaries. It serves white people's purpose to talk about corrupt african countries but they never seem to talk about the ones that are doing well.

  • Have you ever heard about Blacks without borders?African Americans have every type of skill on the Earth.Dont you believe the media about us.We can build the continent with one hand.Learn who the African Americans are we have scientist engineers builders, bankers,we can easily put 100 billion dollars on the continent with our spending money. We earn more than most of the world 900 billion a year!!We are coming home so get ready.

  • Please do it brother. the world is coming to a stage in which i personally think that it´s time for at least to us blacks to return to our origins and build our own world and leave these whites and their madness for themselves. Hope many think that way.. i think about it every days... but still got few things to do yet before depart.

  • I guess that in about 10 years Angola will be a regional power with a great hydroelectric energy source and a improving agriculture, but only time can tell.

I really hope for a better future for the people in Angola.

    /regards from a Swedish guy.

  • Yes they are improving but you'd expect more from a country like this... just look how the Arabic countries are now... I don't expect angola like this in 20 years... Most of the business people are just wanna be, show off, who little know about investing... Under no circumstances people should support regimes like this... we know instability it's just a trigger away... we have some many examples throughout the world...

  • Anyway I got my information about Angola from a fresh source by people that's working and living in Angola they got a more positive response about Angola, ofc their still corruption but the people is getting better living standers.

They are building new railways, highways, schools, hospitals and houses that all are needed to be built from scratch, atm they are building over 10000 new houses outside Luanda.

  • Most of the houses they are builing, neither people in developed and high industrialized countries can buy them... As for as I know the general US population doesn't have 3 millions USD sitting around in their purses... So that's the situation about the housing... and their quality isn't good compared to europpean or american standards though they are being made by multi national companies...

  • This video is filmed 2005 and he really thinks that a country that have been in war for 27 years will recover at once.

Now I can say that journeyman pictures isn't one of the most reliable forms of media, at one clip when they are talking about China he calls Counter-Strike for a game where you kill Japanese people.

  • America exploit countries all the time but China went in there and pretty much staked claim to all the natural resources.

The problem in most poor countries is corruption with all the money Angola the people shouldn't be living like that.

  • @xxxxFR0STYxxxx

I hope this happen soon... then I can go to my country and live in peace, cause there won't be anything to fight for!

The Angolans that studied and finished their courses in Europe would like to come back, but to live in such a conditions where your own people are treated like crap is hard... Many but get so into the system they forget about those who struggle... and become corrupt themselves

  • @candadoify

Usar a cabeca faz bem!

  • Of course, these people are gonna grow to hate us as they already do in other parts of the World. It's a shame.

  • @takingaleak

No they won't it's not US fault...

  • @bandit2xx

As an American, I would prefer if my government did not trade with corrupt/non-democratic regimes. Unfortunately, I don't think this is an option because we would have to cease trading with most of the World. But the way I see it, if nobody in the West was trading with these regimes, the money would dry out and they would be forced to change. Whether we like it or not, the money that finances their corrupt government is coming from here.

  • Yes, you are Right that the money which supply these goverments all come from the west, but.. wait a minute think about the cold war ,where after a good credit crunch just happen that the all americans again try to sell the shit to Africa as always, don't 4get that in africa there is no guns made in africa, as in america this see me to be a culture which they decide to take all around Africa cos the west don't wanna know.xxx

  • And america and its banks are just as corrupt, so what we stop going to school because of all the meanies?

  • ....And what is the solution to all this....When are we goin´to be able to forecast and work peacefuly and fearlessly for a diferent future of our children...NEVER... not as long as we still acknowledge the presence of diamonds, oil, golds emerging from our feets.. not as long as those still have value...So, there won´t be much to kill for... So, Foreign countries will have their eyes focused elsewhere.... then we´ll be able to build our country from it´s true beauty. and simplicity.^^olf

  • @dankdd i believe in marx.. one day we will... we might not see that day,,, but we will...

  • Problem is that the foreigners plans are not to simply be a foreigner...the foreigners plans are to take over our rich countries. Neocolonialism is the main issue we angolans are facing. If we don't take a stance while we still can, we'll find ourselves kicked out from our own contry and the western countries will probably present proof that an Angolan President sold his own country...yes, that's how real things could get.

  • He says Angola is west africa, how ignorant. How can a guy make a documentary about a country and not even know where in the world is the country? Oh my god

  • true talk

  • However, this is not for every Angolian citizen and this upsets me very much. The Angolian government kills anyone that it's against their laws or views and that's the reason many Angolians get scared to speak up. 2010 is a new year for me, I am 21 years old and decide to back to my country (to live there). I believe that it's my job as an Angolian citizen to help my people.

  • I am Angolian and I definitely agree with your documentary. The Angolian government is very corrupt and it steals most of the money that makes from the oil industry and other resources. I left my country 12 years ago and I have to say that I am one of the lucky ones. My parents were able to go to school, work hard, get scholarships and have great careers.

  • Congratulations, you made this realisti
