I think mikris´s comment is a bit OTT, but lazyasp has a good point; there is a real danger that Northern Soul could become a victim of wistful celebs trotting out tired clichéd commentaries of their 'golden years at the Casino'. There has to be an element of mystique-it's what makes NS what it is.
i went the casino for many years and the clip he uses i am actually in it. But when you try to recreate the scene it just just doesnt translate. Leave well alone otherwise we will be remembered as a gang of vest wearing, wide pants, footsie dancing dickheads. And its programmes like this that sells out the real people.

O'Grady, Oh Gravy slurp looking more like Slade's Noddy Holder's Fuck Pig! They didn't get it then and as such can not lay any claim on it now. Both shameful and ridiculous!! Light entertainment invading what was and remains a very heartfelt, underground environment. As if O'grady gives a fuck - tosser!

but inacurate rubbish like this and that film soulboy is going to put young people off the soul scene and at the very time it needs more young people i dont blame the people from the soul scene taking part (i think theyv been used and exploited) but the people who produce these types of film are making us all look like t***s

their is no such thing as a crap soul dancer evryone has their own style and evryone interprits or how ever you spell it their own dance steps and feels the music differently.
apparently im a fast dancer that do alot of flicks with my feet. i dunno what i do i just surrender myselfe to the beat of the music and to the beat of my heart

i watched it in hospital i was looking forward to it as im a big soul fan and im in the film that them people are in. i think it was a big let down. we should be showing our scene off to the nation with pride and show them how ausome the music is. too many breake danceing moves when they did the danceing soul is about feeling the music not showing off sorry about the poor writing as the keays are breaking lol

But I think it does cheapen the Casino a little bit
Not the presenter or the guests fault(scripts etc)
I remember the filming of the "This England"
Programme and as Sandy Holt said many of the key players/dancers would not get involved with it at all trying to keep the casino as a cult
