In this tragedy goodness will emerge and a renewal of serving others. It will also reminds us that material possession can be ripped away, but not our values and what we believe. Some may blame God but I don't. I believe amazing stories will come of of this tragedy. Even in ways you may never have thought. Praying for all those who will need to start over. May the love for our neighbors be abundant. I know the citizens of Merrill are fighters and won't back down from this challenge.
@Eladnav thank goodness!!!! going up next weekend. do you know about 107 and snow road? also did it actualy go into the north side of "dow town?" by 10th st. and N cottage street? have friends up there, and im a little woried?
@Hurdoutdoors Hwy 107 is fully open. There was some damage by the Smith Center, but it is mostly cleaned up now. From what I have heard, only very minor damage on Snow rd.
The tornado went over the Smith Center, down Taylor St. (the Industrial Park) and then up to Hillside Dr. and then over Hwy 51. The worse damage is along Hillside Drive and Pier Street. That area is just annihilated.
10th St at N. Cottage is where the bad damage starts to the north.
@crazyman7000 No, this is the last business on Taylor St, well West of Northern Wire.
It has a bunch of camouflage painted vehicles parked in the back (a lot of them flipped over). Everyone I talked to in Merrill doesn't know what this business does. This place is right across 107 from the Smith Center (MARC).
My thoughts and prayers go out the families affected by the tornado. I live in Edgar WI, and there was also a tornado north about 4 miles. Not nearly the extent to what people in Merrill are dealing with. And to @wmcb you should be ashamed for the comment you made this is a serious time and all you can do is make fun of the situation. GOD BLESS THE PEOPLE OF MERRILL AND THEIR FAMILIES!!
Ah, you misunderstand. I do sympathize with the people affected by this unfortunate event. I assure you that I was not "making fun" of the situation, rather expressing a heartfelt dislike for the terrible scourge that is the "music" of Nickelback. I would suggest that the youtube community refrain from associating such homeostatic garbage with what is clearly a serious issue. Indeed, it does all of us a disservice.
@wmcb Ever try speaking for yourself? Instead of writting it does all of us a disservice? Im no huge Nickelback fan even if I like the first 2 albums before they started producing Pop for the Masses. It remains our Opinion, and Bands Like Metallica disgust me even more, seeing where the went after Cliff died. Does it make it my right to knock them down because it is not my taste? I bet I know enuff about music to rip the crap out of almost every band you call good...wanna give it a shot?
@Mtthwmeatball It doesn't pay to argue with @wmcb. As you pointed out, not everyone will like my choice of music for this video, and I am ok with that. I thought this song fit the somber mood and devastation our town felt.
Lovely little Merrill. I dearly love the towns and people of Wisconsin and one of the best parts of moving to Chicago 47 years ago was to be able to enjoy much time in Wisconsin.
I live in Gleason, work in Merrill. I was working in Merrill at the time and watched it all happen. It was kind of creepy. Power and trees and some damage was done in Gleason aswell.
I live in Central Langlade county, during the tornado it was nice out to the west. Very sunny out but blue ahead oh it. Looked nice where I was but not about 40 miles to the West.
Every time i watch this i still dont think i happened.

does anybody have any report from south end road, or lone pine?
Hurdoutdoors 10 months ago
@Hurdoutdoors South End Road didn't have any damage. Lone Pine only had branches down from trees. That area is well north of the tornado.

Oh my. I fear I've made you upset. Musical tastes are of course highly individualized. It's perfectly alright to enjoy any or all music in existence.
Except Nickelback.
I do apologize if you don't agree, but I don't make the rules about these things.
Goodness, any more of this and you'll make trolls of both of us.
