Well, this is actually a version that was probably ARRANGED by Jesper Kyd, but it's the Ave Maria that was composed by Schubert who was German. It's a pretty universal song, and there have been many arrangments of this particular composition. But yeah, the lyrics are German because though it is a Catholic prayer thing (thereby the title being Latin) the lyrics themselves were the German translation of the Latin Catholic mass or prayer. I forget.
