It was really the hardcore players who ruined it for themselves...Will Wright made it fairly clear from the beginning that it wasn't as much of a game as it was a successor to the Sims. It's just that those gamers, me included, were a bit too foolish and perhaps mesmerized by the possibilities to really listen to him.

Consoles are typically for quick bursts of fun rather than devoting lots of time to a game. That's why you don't see games like the PC Sims, very mmos, strategies, etc.; the don't really appeal as much to the audience.

I don't really agree with this being an "ultimate" strategy game. While it certainly plays a part in Spore, it doesn't come off to me as extremely deep or involved. I think strategy just falls into the background to the creative and exploration aspects of Spore, which *is* the focal point of the game.
They did a great job with this video, the announcer was funny without sounding too excited, and the punchlines well... there very cliche, but they work great. >.>
To be fair, they havent made it too hard, i had to get it to my other computer, same house etc, i had to look for it in the hard drive, i found the whole thing in a file, and then all i needed was the registration, i am 14 and it was easy for me, so they could make it much harder...

Well, piracy is an issue on any system or console-not just the PC, and it isn't going to go away. All EA is accomplishing with SecuROM is punishing paying customers and doing nothing against piracy, as it has already been cracked.
I'd say it's just a matter of opinion. I went and looked up the E3 2006 trailer for visual reference, and honestly I much prefer the current graphic style to the older one. The graphics from a couple years ago, while less "colorful" and exaggerated were also much more plain and generic in the same regard. It's nice to have variation in art direction rather than your typical realism every time. That's why I enjoy particular games such as LittleBigPlanet, No More Heroes, Team Fortress 2, etc.

Yeah, PC gaming is really different from console gaming. A large amount of the time consuming/dedicated games are on the PC only, like Sims, Spore, WoW, WAR, Civ4 etc. Consoles and console gamers couldn't really handle those games well imo.
4. People have already cracked the safe guard EA implemented on their games. The Spore Creature Creator for instance was cracked just a week after it released. Not only is EAs system a hassle, but it's a bunch of garbage as well.
5. I think it might refer to the fact that you can make pikmin in the creature creator...I've tried :P.
I don't know anything about a 360 version, but for the one's that are coming out on the Wii, DS, and Iphone, it's basically a drastically different game...it's all land-based as far as I know- no space travel or anything like that.

This is AWSOME! I play spore creature creator, its very cool, and when I look at other people creatures and things, i see like 2 million and even more people making creatures, and if its 2 million making, TRY to think how much people will play the Full SPORE! :D

Ye, i spose 6gb is alot. But dont go thinking it will take atleast 6gb to install, cuz thats not quite right. 6gb is more like what u waill wanna keep free for the entire game, as its a massive game with millions of planets and creatures, so having those brought into ur game will take a fair bit of space up. Although i thinkin 6gb is a very small price to pay when u take into consideration the sheer size of the game. Like i said there are literally MILLIONS of planets in the game.
Plus im sure u can make room for 6gb of space. Unless ur harddrive is very very small, in which case get a portable harddrive. If u like, message me or email me, and i can let u know a website where u can get ur hands on a high quality 500GB Harddrive, for only £49.99. (Im getting one soon :D).
Yes, I realize that, but no matter what, about 4 gigs of space is freed from your hard drive for collaborating creatures and such. and what that space is used for matters... nothing. My point was that free space is going to be the main reason a person wont be able to run the game. I had no other point.
As far as graphics go, yes. If you can run the creature creator, you should be able to run the game. The real catch to this game, is it is going to be a RAM hog.
Fair play. Both very good points. So basically, if u can play creature creator, if ur happy enough to set aside 6gb or so, and if u have a RAM thats atleast about 700mb, then you are very much sorted for playing this game. So ye, if ur buying this game, just need to make sure u have ample HardDrive space, and a decent RAM. If ur RAM is like 1GB or more, then u'll be absolutely fine with it.
Oh, and i may aswell say, i agree with everyone else, this video was amazing!!

although he did say it would be "massively single player" meaning your creatures don't necessarily interact under your command but they are on other people's spore game. It can notify you if your creatures are friends with another species or if they were extincted by the other players. It sounds awesome and I bet that system will work pretty well.
I think SPORE has more creativity then Minecraft.

hmm i have question, if your in the tribe stage or space or civ, can you go back to be just a normal creature like in creature stage? or you cant, and you have to make a new creature?

you probably have to start a new game. spore will most likely have save/load profiles so you can have multiple creatures going at one time.

From what I know, whenever you start a game you can essentially skip to whatever stage you want if you've already played through it before.

This is AWSOME! I play spore creature creator, its very cool, and when I look at other people creatures and things, i see like 2 million and even more people making creatures, and if its 2 million making, TRY to think how much people will play the Full SPORE! :D

Well, if spore creature creator works, then the real thing should, because they have the same sprecifications. So if creature creator works, ur fine. Most operating systems play spore, surprisingly :D

Ye, i spose 6gb is alot. But dont go thinking it will take atleast 6gb to install, cuz thats not quite right. 6gb is more like what u waill wanna keep free for the entire game, as its a massive game with millions of planets and creatures, so having those brought into ur game will take a fair bit of space up. Although i thinkin 6gb is a very small price to pay when u take into consideration the sheer size of the game. Like i said there are literally MILLIONS of planets in the game.

Yes, I realize that, but no matter what, about 4 gigs of space is freed from your hard drive for collaborating creatures and such. and what that space is used for matters... nothing. My point was that free space is going to be the main reason a person wont be able to run the game. I had no other point.

As far as graphics go, yes. If you can run the creature creator, you should be able to run the game. The real catch to this game, is it is going to be a RAM hog.

Fair play. Both very good points. So basically, if u can play creature creator, if ur happy enough to set aside 6gb or so, and if u have a RAM thats atleast about 700mb, then you are very much sorted for playing this game. So ye, if ur buying this game, just need to make sure u have ample HardDrive space, and a decent RAM. If ur RAM is like 1GB or more, then u'll be absolutely fine with it.
Oh, and i may aswell say, i agree with everyone else, this video was amazing!!

dude this game is goig to be the greatest game since will wright came out with the sims you truly play god in designing the creatures but the thing that gets me is that this game truly encompasses the entire universe and you can battle your friends online too

no its not going to be mmorpg.
although he did say it would be "massively single player" meaning your creatures don't necessarily interact under your command but they are on other people's spore game. It can notify you if your creatures are friends with another species or if they were extincted by the other players. It sounds awesome and I bet that system will work pretty well.
