I showed this video to a friend of mine because I think Laurel does really interesting work. He became upset and called her the c-word and that she exploits lonely people. I didn't want to argue with him because he seemed to be really pissed off at Ms. Nakadate. The same criticisms have been made about John Cassavetes and Harmony Korine. That it is just simple exploitation which is not only artless but also demeaning. I think Laurel does good work and I hope she continues down her path.

Having watched her career and works for 7 years and listening to her speak in other venues, she has managed to penetrate into some weird but very valid and important areas of the sexual dance of humans. I´m an artist too. The only question for me is: should someone use/utilise people for art purposes? The problem is the persistence of the medium: the film. When the performance is over, the film still exists, like the photos of Mr. Goldworthy and he is earning money with his photos, not with his performances.
