I was watching this interview the morning it happened and it sent a shiver down my spine. This little clip does not give the whole context, Powell was spilling beans on the Bush BS and a staff member loyal to the Bushinistas tried to shut down the interview.
Powell has more credit for acknowledging he and other were misled by the US intelligence community. It is rare for a politician to say he was misled and that the war was in effect created by Bush and his immediate circle. If only Obama listened to him and not the henchmen Bush employed and Obama has kept in position.
Powell's stupid ass trying to get out of answering why he went in front of the world and INTENTIONALLY LIED in order to invade Iraq, cause the creation of millions of refugees, and deaths of hundreds of thousands. Fucking bastard.
The information Mr. Powell resented to the UN about WMDs in Iraq was false. He was mislead and that was why he resigned. Thats what you call a man of integrity. A friend of the Bush family -- and they totally fuck'ed him.
Ammm! I don't think so. Based on the intelligence briefing of which I'd consider as a reliable source was very convincing. Furthermore he's acting under direct orders from the commander in chief. Naturally if he was lying he'd try to defend his actions. In this case he just resined. Case in point George W. still says that invading Iraq was the right thing to do.
I was told we were to invade Iraq more than a year ahead of time. Why would Powell not know if I did? I knew at the time it was fabricated. Furthermore, the downing street memo proves that was the case. The intelligence agencies themselves are the biggest liars on the face of the planet. When Joe Wilson attempted in good faith to correct the false allegations of Iraq aquiring uranium from Africa, they retaliated against him by exposing his wife's cover as a CIA agent.
Actually when you see the rest of the video, you see that Colin Powell tells his staff off and answers the questions honestly. That shows integrity in Colin Powell's part of willing to face the tough questions.
How can someone who's been in the positions he's held be duped by the CIA? I think Powell just lacked the cahones to do the right thing (resign) when this country needed him most. How can we ever trust him again?

Who was holding the camera? The guy said "I think it was one of your staff, I don't think it's appropriate"... HOW WRONG! It's the staff of this journalist jerk, Powell even told him "hey, he's still asking questions"... This my friends is what we call MANIPULATION, or propaganda, just trying to give a bad image and discredit a very important witness. It's a setup...
The woman referred to as Emily by Colon Powell says to him, "THEY can't use THEIR editing in this" - that would imply to me that she and he are together and that probably makes her his staffer. OMG! Manipulation? Propaganda? Get serious...
Heckuva job, Emily. This makes Emily a top candidate for that White House Press Secretary gig...surely, it puts her toward the top of the list of likely Bush Supreme Court nominees. "She's a good man," said Bush.
A guy in a black suit walks across the screen behind Mr Powell and as he passes him he rips out his mike then the camera cuts. This version has been edited.I could not believe it, my brother was with me at the time and we were both speechless
I am surprised I am saying this, because I used to think Powell was weak when I was in the military, but he is the wisdom behind not invading Iraq the first time like Stormin Norman wanted to.
"Almost Censored"? I think he was. That was just a little hint to Colin that they are in control. Don't stray from the message and be loyal or we will get rid of you as easy as we moved the camera. I think this woke Colin up. Now Colin its time for you to come clean. Tell the truth. America needs you again.

Ancient bump, but here we go.
I think he did it because he's a military man, and even if you know the mission is wrong, you don't desert.
May be simplifying things, but that's my opinion for whatever it's worth.

Colin Powell is such a decent person; it's a shame such an unpopular administration used him in that way.
