  • I'm I the only one who gets goosebumps when listening to JD?

  • Ah yes, the man who's responsible for my love of mountains. ^_^ These songs were my life when I was younger and will always be a part of me to the end of my days.

  • One of my regrets in life is that i never got to a live J.D. show. Loved his music when Take me Home Country Roads came out the song spoke to me and made yearn for a small town in Colorado that i spent much of my youth.

  • One of the best recordings I've heard. Thanks! My son, Cameron Brooks, plays in a band called Listen 2 Three. I have asked him to cover John Denver songs. He would be good but no one would be better than John's voice was. Thanks, Thom Brooks, Savannah, Georgia

  • great video. i grew up hearing his music and i cried when i heard that he died. rip john and god bless to everyone.

  • Wonderful, marvelous!!!! Sing along with this man with such powerful and lovely voice. I hope now he has found peace and sings with the angels.

  • John Denver - Videoke DVD

Asian DVD (NTSC/All Code) reissue 'Live In Australia' (1994) (not mentioned on the cover) & includes 16 karaoke tracks (identical live footage). 30 tracks. BMG. 2004.

  • @oicurapns Thanks for your posting. Any idea where I can get that karaoke disc(s). You can email me at jsoder@carolina.rr.com. Thanks , enjoy the day.

  • Does anyone know what album this is from?

This live version is amazing. John adds a little extra to a beautiful and meaningful song. Thank you oicurapns.

    Brad

  • @2lath Originally it was on the album "An Evening With John Denver" concert album. You can also get it in the compilation set "The Essential John Denver". Both are great, but if you like the live version, I'd go with the concert cd. Both are available at Amazon.com.

    Regards, Jenni

  • powerful, distinctive voice.... under rated as a songwriter because his songs were unabashedly optimistic .... no world weary irony so the critics dismiss it as naiive and pollyanna...

but his early songs 1970-75 were unmistakable and impossible to ignore.

  • Beautifully done! Love the way this was put together!

  • My first concert was John Denver at Red Rocks, I was 10. My mom told me someday I would truly appreciate how good of a songwriter JD was. I love his music to this day! Thanks mom!!!

  • I believe this is his greatest song ever and, yes, it gives a sense of something worth living for!!

  • Wow! It's been soooo long since I heard this one! It's like you don't want the song to end! He's got a way that makes your spirit soar, and you don't want to come back down. What a gift!

  • this song got me through some hard times and still love his songs

  • This video is simply BRILLIANT , a work equal to the beautiful song!

  • John and this song got me through some very, very tough times. It saved my soul.

  • What a wonderful job you did with this!

It's like watching the spirit of John Denver singing one of my favourite songs.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • 1 person shouldn't ever come across me cause John Denver was one of the best!

  • It is on my 'bucket list' to vist Aspen before leave this world. I had the pleasure of seeing his last ever concert at R.A.H. just before his untimely death. His music still brings much joy to my life. Thank you John!

  • when John hit that mountain, humanity hit the wall.sadly missed

  • This would make a great memorial clip to honer John Denver. The world has certainly lost a wonderful advocate for wildlife and the environment on his passing. Walk in peace dear John..... you are surely missed

  • great video !! nice handling of pictures . thanks for posting

    willy

  • Great song, awesome video. Thanks for taking the time to put this together!

  • You can't be on some backroad out in the Rockies but think of John Denver. I know I did.

  • Gone but never forgotten.

  • Strong performance, brilliant vocals...

  • Beautiful video ~ thank you so much for sharing ;D

  • Sounds rich and beautiful as always John..

  • I,m not sure where I,m going and I don,t know where I,ve been, but I have found someone to believe in.

  • You are missed, John.

  • PS. Is that a young Jerry Seinfeld playing on the piano? (-:

  • WOW!!! This is far better even than his original recording! His voice got even better with age!!!! .. the world is empty without you John!!!

  • Travelling around northern Canada, I can see how the Rockies and rivers would have inspired John Denver's creativity. The area is truly one of the wonders of the natural world.

    Requiescat in pace.

  • hi - this a great video with a great sound - only thing is dear john is playing in the key of ''A'' on the video but he is singing in the key of ''G'' - the music is in ''G'' - now that is a great singer - never - the - less - i really like this song as i sing it myself -- in the key of ''G'' - that's how i spotted the '' blooper ''

  • @djcranny ... it is common to tune 12 strings a whole note low, sort of a reverse capo just as many rock bands tune a half note low to add bottom ...

  • @djcranny John is playing a Leo Kottke model Taylor guitar which was made for lower tunings. So this guitar is tuned a whole tone down from standard pitch and although he is fingering the A position it is in the Key of G. As years went on John began lowering the pitches of some of his songs.

  • Awsome video! Kind of like what I picture Heavens music pavillion being like. A true favorite!

  • this is wonderful. It is what we all know. John is there, and singing in all the wonderful glorious beauty he loved sooo much.

  • oh great in HD !! could u please upload the original video clip in HD ? i mean without the image layers...

  • JD: your spirit and your music will bright in our souls forever. A very nice five stars video.

  • Very lovely version- probably the best version of SS- great backdrop as well. Makes me think of Kathy who a few of us knew who died last April- this was her "anthem" going across country she said.

  • @puck57

I agree. The rythm and the different background strings are just perfectly i harmony

  • I love to hear that man's voice - one of the best ever....

  • Hey Nat, my wife and I have been to the Rockies. We've hiked in The Tetons, enjoyed the sites of Yellowstone and seen the beauty of Banff and Jasper. The mountains inspired John Denver and I'm sure that the same images shown here drifted threw his mind as he wrote the music you hear. Nature and his music go hand in hand.

  • I think you have done this beautifully. Thank you :-)

  • hmm, not so bad, keep on trying

  • could u please upload the video without the background/nature photos ?? i love this song and can't find a live video

  • Very good 5*****

  • That's very nice. What show was this from.

  • not bad keep it up and do more u r really good!
