  • finally i found someone who actually explains the setup well and allows me too see it clearly. thank you & great video.

  • This is very helpful for artist starting out even for artist that have been inking for awhile. Theres alot of artist out there that go by ear then when you go to show your apprentice how tune your not sure how to explain it to them. I wish I had youtube when I first started out. Thanks for the Vid Big Country

  • Im also a scratcher and went to college for tatting. keep up the work brother and i appreciate your video.

  • Im a scratcher. Keep up the good work. And to the person who said scratching is shit work, learn what your talking about before you speak

  • Great job describing the mechanics and steps involved... right on brotherman

  • Thanks for the video bro. It helped me a bunch so right on!!!!

  • Best I have seen so far

  • got kit last week. didn't bother with practice skin went straight to my arm did large writing 1st day right arm wrapped my arm chucked everything did my mates right arm graffiti writing the next day chucked everything did 5 large spiders outside of right arm. mine look better than my shop one. everything chuckable gets chucked everything else gets cling filmed 1st. screw the term scratcher im doing it for the love no charge. wouldn't mind but 80phr some shops and still shit work. thanks 4 vid

  • informative thanks mate .........appreciated

  • good i mean

  • Is that a dv8 iron machine behind your hand? If so im thinking about buying one or two is it any god is my question?

  • Like

  • @fattasticvoyage hey great video btw.. i am getting into tattooing and did the out line for my first DIY tattoo. iv got two machines one i got just right for lining but the other machine im trying to set up for shading and the coils dont seem strong enough. shall i get a set of 12 wrap coils for it or is it the power supply thats not strong enough??

    ian.

  • im a scratcher ,,,but my work,is just as good if not better than most of my,,,,pro tattooist's friends on face book ,ive tattooed for 19 years, spent 3 years self teaching myself about any kind of contamination that i could find ,surface ,equipment, blood and pathogen ,i started out way back in the day,i still pick up different way's to be sterile ,plus the extra cash is greattttttt lol

  • I have worked in a shop for over 12 years and I decided to start working out of my house so I could give my customers better pricing while puttig more money in my pocket. I do have a health dept. license but choose to be a "scratcher"! I have put over 100k this year so far in my pocket instead of 50k in mine and 50k in someone elses while working in a shop.

  • I take the term "scratcher" as someone who doesn't know what the hell they're doing, and the tattoos look like shit.. associated with scratch marks.

  • @omgfaglolz well to be honest with you i started out as a SCRATCHER lol and yet seems to me i know what the hell i am doing considering i am in 3 tattoo mags and have 2 shops both in my name and that are 1200 miles away from each other so before you go say something stupid how about you read up on some shit or just all in all stop talking shit

  • thanx for the info !! i just started tattoo so im new to the game :) lol thanx

  • @wallace86442 thnx. n what do u think is better to shade with? a roundshader or 15 magnum?

  • So your not gonna say how got an eikon product?

And sweet machines where did you get those??

  • Hey man you got danish money wrapt around the coil´s of one of your machines, nice...

  • its the same for pepole who do piercing at home and know what they are doing! We get sooo much shit cuz of all the pepole who do it bad on youtube!

  • @chenaandbert It just looks bad. Get a health certificate, and ppl will lay off.

  • cool stuff to know, thanks for posting the video

  • this helped alot my tattoo machine came in the mail today thank you

  • jeez is this guy a fuking human ruler,. fukn A

  • how much duty for a liner ? n for a shader?

  • @edgarsanchez1904 between 45% to 55% for both so you don't overstress the armature and snap your spring....Been there done that and have been hit a few times lol

  • my main thing is out of the house or not....get licensed!!! you can own a private tattoo studio (house) but do it right. get your bloodborne pathogens cert. you can get em online for $25. i work at a shop and the there is alot of truth to what you folks are saying. i've worked with some assholes and i've worked with some really cool folks. some artist are better than others shop or not.

  • Great vid, thanks for posting

  • Awesome post man...that's some good knowledge ..

  • Just wanna say thanks so much for posting these videos. Bottom line, is tattooing is an art form and we should treat it like one. You don't see guitarists telling someone "No, you have to apprentice under me, clean my house, polish my guitars and let me treat you like shit for a year before I teach you how to play guitar.." or someone who paints telling someone "Well, you have to apprentice under me before I teach you to paint". So, why is tattooing any different? Art is art. Thanks, man!

  • the more the duty the better quality u get?

  • A artist can be good in a shop...but you want give that same artist his credit if hes doin the same tattos in a house

  • I've been a professional tattoo artist for 21 years and have won over 25 trophies at conventions around the country. You go ahead and keep telling people the wrong info and I'll keep making money by fixing up the work of scratchers. Thanks. You're keeping me in business.

  • @63Eco ive seen scratchers fix a lot of tattoos from pros and the finished product looks amazing. i can understand that there are definately a lot of them out there that are either really bad or are not sterile and they r the ones that should get the negativity and not the ones that actually do a good job at it. I dunno about most places but where I am from, its really hard to get an apprenticeship let alone find a decent shop that can even do good tattoos but there are good scratchers here

  • @63Eco hi there 63eco, ive just seen your comment and feel yes you are right but on the flip side to that is that a lot of customers cant afford the high price of shops today and its no wonder they try somebody who is working from home. i myself am trying to get into the tattoo business but find it hard where i live to get help or advise coz they think that im taking money out there pocket for wanting to follow a passion of mine.

  • @63Ecothe truth is that if pro's was a little cheaper and lil more friendly the demand for affordable tattoos would not exisit if ya follow me. what real advise would you give to somebody who truly wants to become a tattoo artist trying to get into the game ? ive asked that same question to a lot of pro's in the past and they pretty much say the same thing which is'' not to bother trying !''

  • what happens if u put the speed realy high on shading?

  • how do you adjust the duty cycle?

  • whered you get that power supply? good video thx bro

  • i was a scrathcher nothing wrong with starting off curious!so have fun be safe and blast tats

  • @helllloiloveyou............a scratcher is a home artist that has never been properly apprenticed, they have just picked up the skill they have through self learning and the process of elimination

  • Dood... Between the Buried and Me is in the background. legit.

  • Wholy fuck is that 'sun of nothing' by 'between the buried and me' in the background. Video just got double thumbs up

  • You also have to wipe outwards

  • Ok i just kinda came across this so ima share Diz with all of us scratcherz lol I work from bottom to top depending on the design sometimes from right to left but I also use blood lineing or just a really washed out black two drops in a cap and fill the rest with something called "the cut" I think its just witch hazel diluted with distilled water not shure but Diz makes the ink easyer to wipe down, rather than haveing really thick ass ink then I go back and reoutline the design with outline ink

  • look man,i justgot my gear and have already learned quite a bit from the video's on here ,i know there's always room for progress, even for the pro's..just sayin' thanks to everyone on here ,without this i would be lost...i've paid for my tattoo's and got sick of payin those high prices so i've decided to learn this art..one guy did ask for help on wiping, instead of smearing the ink??just need to know..thanks!!

  • Hey jetho, I just use paper towel with distilled water on it, and that seems to get the excess ink off without smearing it too much. That's what works for me

  • Does it help to have a power supply with advanced readings? Duty, FT, CPS etc. I've heard that experienced tattooists trust their ear. Still new to this so I don't know what to listen for.

  • shit was just reading comments and someone mentioned price of tatts here in oz they r expensive in comparison, most shops in this area charge $240 an hour some shops r FILTHY and half of them do really shit work not many shop artists here r about the passion of the art its all about makin the money i will only ever work from home and if a customer wants someting im not sure about i wont do it i tell them i want to do my best work on them n if i think it will look shit il refuse to do it

  • Just curious, does anybody els here have trouble with wiping in between lining/coloring/shading???? I have tried dry wipe, wet with green soap, wipe with A&D dry or wet. It always smears the ink all over the damn place. Somebody please school me with what works for u.

  • And the whole reason an artist starts in the house is to get out and get in a respected shop asap! Know you art first and the tattooing will follow.

  • All tattoo machines are different and each machine needs to be set up in a different way...takes months to learn how an individual machine works best

  • Ay cuhz that's true man, I just got my gun and had to learn all this shit my self and just now found ur video man... But ya thanks man

  • thanks for the easy to understand info....there is room for even studio owners to learn as I fix many so called pro stuff ups and i had to teach myself to start with as in my day no 1 would apprentice a female. Quit hating and as pro's get the right info out there that way all risks are reduced there is enough skin on this planet for us all to share!

  • bro! i have to say like you said this is the best video out their! im a amature just starting out i thought my gun was broken and it wassnt thumbs up brother! keep up the good work - Dan

  • we all started out as a scratcher at some point. and ya even kat was one. ive covered some really bad tats from shops . im very clean and staril

  • thank you

  • im a scratcher im nt here to talk sht bwt othr artists

if you wanna talk sht bwt scratchers go tell it to kat von d

    who also started as 1

  • Great videos man! Can you tell me where u got ur power supply?

  • Thanks dude your probably the best on here I really liked your vid. very very helpful just ignore the assholes.

  • U was very helpful thanks man

  • you were helpful guy

  • Try checking out some of the tattoo forums out there. Holly shit they damn near lynch scratchers!

  • @Mrdrftr, the word "scratcher" actually came from tattoo artist who dragged the needle after the power supply was stopped... do your research fuck nugget! Tattoos for life!! Only have about 20% left then I'm coverd!

  • Your Intelligence is unfathomable, and your obviously homophobic... does your boyfriend know? as for your other pathetic insults, i dont have to show you shit, cause frankly, your not worth my time.

  • thanks for the info man, it helps out alot, and like you said in the vid, your the only one willing to show begginers how to set up a machine for shading and lining. great info and great vid

  • What can be wrong with my machine. You said lineing should be be between 47%-50% but I don't reach that until I hit 16-17 amps what can be the cause of that?

  • LOL not bad for a scratcher to get ahold of eikon parts. I have to agree getting a good apprentice is hard, especially in rural areas. I'm self taught and have been tattooing for almost 20 years. I wish good info was available when I started, I wouldve saved some of my friends skin. Anyone new to tattooing please have at it but please study clean and sterile techniques! No one wants to be known for spreading infection and blood borne diseases.

  • @Kaotixx76 well said. As for the video; great job man, I really appreciate people like you who take the time to make these videos. Thank You

  • Nice job on the video at least he is willing to help people get a general idea of how shit is set -up and how it should sound . See how many other artists will give you a clue on how exactly you need to set your shit up. If your not willing your skills then don't run your mouth , baggin on someone trying to help others out greedy f*cks.

  • Some very handy tips there thanks

  • thanks a lot man. very informative.

  • I respect that you took your time to teaching others that want to learn how to tattoo..

    Great Video Simple and Understanding!!!

  • Can you make a liner a shader and a shader a liner?

  • @KODB123 with changing the springs and adjusting your throw and voltage yes

  • i am a scratchmyasser lol,and our local pro tattoo artist, cant touch this

  • I'm A "Scratcher" And One Of The Youngest Tattoo Artists I Know. (I'm 16) I Turned Dwn Apprenticeships. Theres Nothing Wrong With A Little Constructive Criticism, But Most "Pros" Believe That Theres One Certain Way Tattoos Should Be Done. Now I'm Still Young And Dumb But I Know That Everyone Has The'r Own Unique Tattooing Style And They Shouldn't Dare Change It. So Any Shop Owner Can Keep Their Apprenticeship.

    #ScratchersForLife

  • Thanks mate! Helped me. Cheers. More vids please

  • it dosent matter how you start what matters is that you like what you do and you are dedicated to your work

  • They don't deliberately do bad tattoos, sometimes it's the clients coz not all take proper care of there new tattoos! People who comment negative feedback need to realize that this guy has just helped alot of people with there dream of becoming a tattoo artist.. Just back the fuck off & get over it oh & not everyone can get an apprenticeship! There's very limited shops actually looking 4 desk people let alone artists.. So go shove ya "get an apprenticeship" up your arse coz not all of us can bu

  • To the person trying to look us up were at facebook 12thavenuetattoo

  • thanks for the video! Keep it going!

  • Hey man, thanx for the vid. One question, Where can i buy a machine like your, i mean, the black whit the yellow screen (EIKON EMS250)? I'm from México. PEACE!!!

  • good shit I just stared and it's helping me start I was way off! lol thanks

  • I am a proud scratcher BUT i did apprentice and i did work in a shop...i work alone for the simple fact...why am i going to pay someone half the money i earn? also alot of people here are correct the people in alot of shops are assholes. scratcher or not its about knowing how to do things....fuckin shit cant we all just get along?

  • Thanks for the video. Tthere are two kinds of tattoo artists in a shop or outside of a shop. One kind is the one who knows how to work a tattoo machine but is not an artist and one who is an artist that does know how to tattoo. Ive seen stuff come from a shop where a dragon had good color and cleanliness but the dragon looked like a kid drew it the artwork sucked ass and looked like a joke. Put more machines in artists hands. Thanks

  • thanks for your help!

  • Danish 100 bill :)

  • power to the scratchers \,,/ o_0 \,,/

  • @Y0ungL0tus your an idiot. scratchers are NOT good, they are called scratchers for a REASON, cause they only JUST SCRATCH the skin, douche

  • @mrdrftr i have been tattooing from home for 4 years now iv been offered 3 apprenticeships and turned them down im an artist NO-ONE is going to make a profit from me except me im what the shop tattooists would call a scratcher but i refuse to label myself as such since technically im not the definition of one im a home artist ur right a scratcher is someone that makes a mess of someones skin which i would consider some of the shop artists around here who's work im paid to fix !

  • Hey thank you very much, I'm just learning how to tattoo. I learned some good stuff from this video. I appreciate when people try to help other people, it's called karma. Peace.

  • thanks for the help brother

  • Yeah, I agree, us scratchers are much cleaner then most shops. We are taking there money, and that makes them mad, lol, well its not only the gap on the machine, it is the duty cycle and volts and cycles per second, ALL BEGINERS should start for lining at 8 volts and go very very slow. once the confedence is there, then 10 volts and still go slow. This video is pretty damn accurate for someone who never apprenticed, I am very impressed!!!

  • @fallnangeltattoo Your a fool, scratchers are not tattooists, youd have more luck tattooing toilet paper thats the only thing thatd take your ink. if anything scratchers make real tattooists money cause people have to get your shit tattoos retouched, douche

  • @mrdrftr LOL, your the real fool, the only thing that makes me a scratcher is that I don"t work in a shop, I use to work in a shop for about 3 years in Ca. So your stupid ego can take a dump with the toilet paper I used to wipe my ass, and maybe you can figure out how to go back to school to learn how to spell !!!

  • @fallnangeltattoo Wow, that wouldnt make you a scratcher if you didnt work in a shop, look up the meaning on scratch, then you can find out what a scratcher is. INFACT ill post it for you!

  • Respond to this video... scratcher

An inexperienced, untalented, unclean and untrained tattooer. Though usually found working out of home kitchens, they have been known to find work in disreputable tattoo shops. The word "Scratcher" comes from the look of the, so called "tattoos", they produce. Looking more like colored scratchs, than recognizable images.

  • Respond to this video... look it up if you want.

Now your educated, and as for my spelling, i'm not the illiterate one, we spell with English not some bastardised version.

  • @mrdrftr *you're, *I'm, and no, you don't spell with English, you spell with letters. You're as ignorant to language as you are to tattooing. Off with you, peasant knave, to the depths of your troll cave! We have no need of you here, sirrah.

  • @mrdrftr wow you really are RETARDED aren't you?I have no problem with my inks, and I wanna see you use Fusion,Intenze and Classic on TP...cost too much for me to RE-RE.....but does go in skin very nice i might add,and stays.BUt I wanna see all your work

  • @fattasticvoyage WOW you really have no concept of what i said! I dont care about what inks you use, ive been tagged by scratchers, and ive had to have them, redone, completely. and im not a tattooist, my partner is though, having over 60% of my body done, and growing up around tattooists, you pick up a thing or two huh bud. So lets re cap. I DONT GIVE A F*$K ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK. and as for commenting on a video that i posted for someone else, id love to see you do it sunshine.

  • @mrdrftr lol...apparently you do...hence the offensive comment...lol...but I would never downgrade my reputation with shitty art that all faded...grow up and realize what good art is.....as for commenting on a video of my oldest work..lol....lemme see ur first work again..thats right commenting on shit you dont know...lol...ur a loser troll

  • well... ive watched the video and read quite a few comments . all i have to say to fatt is , thanx buddy , that was a good explaination and great close up to show exactly what you described .. i dont know about elsewhere but in australia , your flat out getting a tatoo artist of any kind . so i appreciate you taking the time to help ppl out ...after taking your advise my guns work great thanx ..

  • I appreciate the video and you are right, it is a pain in the ass to find a good video on youtube for tattooing help.

  • I just have a question about your 2nd machine you show here, would that not be more of a colour packer, I though you wanted a stiffer front spring ( not as hard as a liner ) but that looked really really soft, feel free to correct me if im wrong ?

  • Tattooists are mad at scratchers for revealing there "secrets", they pay lots and go through a depressing stage of being used on an apprenticeship, only to be out worked by a person who is naturally talented and can do better work without the need to pay for talent, enough said.

  • never press your spring...

  • No tattoo is perfect, and all tattoos are differnt. Many culters have been doing tats for hundreds of years. If you trust your tattoo artist then why would it matter. Nobody gets paid what they want, and sharing is careing

  • this is a good video for anyone trying to learn to set up a gun and hes right now the fact that most home shops are way cleaner than actual shops. i always get my ink in home because they are nicer. most of the other vids on you tube didnt help me at all with understanding how to gap the spring because the vids are so hard to see and they dont take the time to explain it. thanks bro for the vid

  • I own my own tattoo shop I started at home after a few years I got a chance to apprentice in a shop I leaned alot more about the technical side and so many things that I didn't know before but I never talk shit about home artist untill I have to fix one of there f@#k ups but at the same time I've done more cover ups from other tattoo shop than home artist so keep learning and sharing information and if you get a chance look me up on facebook at Soaked to the bone Tattoo.

  • @TheFroggi420 tried to look ya up on facebook but ever brouht anything up...

  • @TheFroggi420 seen your work its pretty good but i must say im only 17 and some of my work is way better and i only been tattin for almost 10 months... but your work is tight just thought it would be better

  • just bought myself a tattoo kit... your video is a great help! im only just starting out! going to learn how to tattoo on practise skins first ( buy them of ebay dirt cheap)where do u recon i should go from there?

  • so how much are you asking for your machines and whats your bulldog set up as?

  • @heartbreakerz18 I have a tommy stegall custom line that I am asking $200 for,A dennis dwyer customized mad maxx setup as a shader/color machine(better for dark shades) for $200,I also have a custom machine i customized thats setup for lining I beleive(slower liner, good for single pass and great for letters),the bulldog is a great color machine but also is a beast at soft shades as well, I am asking $250 for the bulldog and the previous is $150...will make deal for multiples

  • so how much are you asking for your machines

  • DUDE THANKS. I bought a tattoo gun that suppose to be a shader and liner and was trying to figure out how to set it for each. you gave me a better understanding. if you got some more info send it to me . PLEASE...lol

  • Thank you man for the enlightening on tuning up really appreciated!

  • A lot of amazing tattooists through history taught themselves, about time 'pro's' learnt to relax & realise sharing knowledge is a gift- if you love tattooing as much as you say you do then help ppl do good work rather than putting them down. A video on how to change coils would be really helpful too!

  • Thanks for the video- so helpful, & I just love watching the way 'professional' tattooists get their panties in a twist whenever anyone spills their 'secrets.' I taught myself to tatt, my set up is sterile & my work is better than a lot of stuff I see coming out of parlours.

  • I am selling a few machines, tommy stegall full custom, dennis dwyer full custom and I mgiht be selling my old bulldog thats about 25 years old.....all are top notch professional grade, all tuned to perfection and lay ink like no other, but I Am looking at a certain machine That i really want....if interested contact me.....prices are good...as I am asking $200 obo each Or will combine for cheaper price....one is a liner the others are shading/coloring machines

  • I am selling a few machines, tommy stegall full custom, dennis dwyer full custom and I mgiht eb selling my old bulldog thats about 25 years old.....all are top notch professional grade, all tuned to perfection

  • look its alot cheaper to doit ur self it cost $1.75 a tat ...i TATTOO MY SELF MY WIFE TATS HER SELF WE TATTOO NO ONE BUT US....WHEN U SHOPS CHARGE WAY TO MUCH FOR BULL CHIT ...U CAN DO IT UR SELF AND NOT apprentice @ SHOPS ..GET UR SHIT TOGETHER AND GET UR LICENCE ITS CHEAPER THAN A TATTOO FROM A SHOP..SHOPS R A REAP OFF NEEDLES CAST A DOLLAR @ MOST INK 10 DOLLARS..DO IT UR SELF ONLY IF UR AN ARTIS LIKE US... ;^p

  • @STABFIELD Pleas edont say that shops are over priced....its sort ofcontridicary.....Most shopd mark prices by the owner or manager, which makes them set the price not the artist, plus half of that goes in owners pockets...alot of the times a price is set really high so the owner gets more of a cut when the artist would do it alot cheaper.....be mad at shop owners...saying nothing bad about tattooing urself...more power to you

  • @fattasticvoyage ....see i say that cuz i know three tattoo artis that tell me not to go to shops!!!! They say if u r in to tattoo's do it ur self if u want 1 here or 1 there then go to shop...Get my drift... :^) My buddies whis they could do it in thair own but they to lazy the shop gives them freedom from 9-5 dayz they say!!!!! Hope all gose well with u but i was mostly talkn to other ppl not ur vedio M8>>>>

  • @STABFIELD Well buddy. The reason tattoos cost so much is A - This is the only thing you will ever buy that lasts forever. B - Most apprentiships, unless you are good friends with someone, cost between $5,000 and $10,000 to learn the trade. Where I live there is a state mandatory 2,000 hours of apprenticing, which is working for free on top of paying the $5,000. C - Most likely if you do it yourself it looks like shit if you dont know what your doing. (continued...)

  • @canonlawnyc If we charged any less money we would not be able to make a living doing this. This is a career. Why would I pay 5,000 and work for free for 2 years (when I apprenticed I worked 5am to 1pm in a bagel store then 2pm - 10pm at a shop, 6 days a week). ......

  • You have got to understand, a good artist is a good artist, not an apprentice...

  • @canonlawnyc Why would I go through all that, take health classes, bust my ass, and work really hard at creating custom art on people everyday to make minimum wage?

  • @canonlawnyc People who say shops are overpriced and their "boy" does it cheaper are the same people who walk in our shop every single day with horrible fucked up tattoo work, scarred up skin, and hep c.People like you are the reason the tattoo industry is going to be destroyed because in ten years, everyone is going to see your horrible home tattoos and say"wow, tattoos look like shit, im never getting one"

  • @canonlawnyc You forgot to mention the fact that they charge more because the artist only gets half of that....lol...then what about some people are greedy, around here minmum fluctuates from 30-80 bucks...so definitely some greed there. Also got to think coverage costs...supplies are cheap yes but lights and bulding isnt....but saying crap comes from someone doing it at there homes is bull too...my tattoos come out great,I am begged to work in a shop, and my shop at home is (continued...

  • @fattasticvoyage just as clean if not cleaner than most shops I have seen.I didnt just pick up a machine and poke people,I knew how it worked before I used it,I knew all I could...yeah i hit bumps along the way but I worked through them. Some ofthe best work I have ever seen came out of someone that taught themselves, and again some of the best work ive seen has been done in prison.Im not saying go to a shop im not saying go the the nigga down the road,im saying let their work speak.......continue

  • @fattasticvoyage becuae in the end of this all it is art....and we are artist, not debaters on whats right and wrong.I am sorry you had to bust your ass and pay a feee to get an apprenticeship, its like that here,no one wants to teach anyone, and in my opinion they shouldnt unless they have 15+ years of experience. But then you end up someone old school teaching you old tricks, when the new ones are so much better...to eachhis own..keep inking

  • I'm just telling you how it is man we shouldn't have to be treated like shit just to do what we love.. Basically be treated like shit and spend thousands If I wanted to be treated like that sure in the hell wouldn't wanna pay for it so all your real artists in shops you aren't no better than any of us god made us all the same no matter what so stop thinking your the best and greater than ne one else

  • alright...first off all the whiny ass people need to get it right if you all say you love tattooing and want an apprentice oppertunity....try taking the blood borne pathogens class,an anatomy class, business management course, and some art classes, then sit your ass in a shop for a year scrubbing floors buying artists lunches, mopping floors, answering phones....ect...pretty much fight club iniiation treatment..to be a professional artist....but were all stuck up whiny over privlaged ass holes right?

  • @raddlecan no just to damn stupid to say fuck them and learn it on your own and from real good artist that will teach with out the hazing or spending a fortune

  • dude you freaking suck man

  • 2:40 WTF IS IN THAT JAR??

  • thanks for the advice u gave me it allowed me to set both my machines up when others did not keep the videos coming

  • why does your liner look like a shader machine?

  • good video im a scratcher aswell done loads of tats from my home.,very useful video too got some good info from you.keep up the cool vids.cheers

  • Does your state allow a licensed shop to exist in a residence as a home business? They do in my state as long as it has a separate room, only thing is there cannot be a sign outside or anything. Might want to look into that to cover your ass and be legit.

Don't get me wrong, I am 100% against any type of government regulation, should be buyer beware. Educate the public on what type of sterilization standards are required, not make mare trade protectionist laws.

  • that lunam054 guy is a fag, who cares what someone does, if its what they like doing then let them do it. its a personal choice and honestly none of there fucking business. and when they say things like "oh its taking my business". well you know what, its not your business, no one can own the right to tattoo all to them selves, i work on cars but you don't see me ragging on the other shops. just ignore the haters all they are is insecure winy bitches!

  • ok first and formost thanks for the info it is very helpful. and to any shp worker that refuse to help the little guys. i got 2 words for you FUCK YOU!

  • most so-called pro tat2 artists that work in shops are so god damn snobby they make it nearly impoosible 4 ne1 that has potential 2 even get their foot in the door or get an apprenticeship that you're forced 2 start on your own and work from home,oh i'm sorry not every1 can start in a shop with help from the pro's since it sounds like thats how u got your start, maybe when the day comes when pro artists quit being so jealous of "scrarcher's" that have talent they'll stop tat2'n from home@lunam054

  • @aarontbradley1 Amen

  • nice video...highly informative...thank you very much...and to hell with these people who have the need to keep tattoo an esoteric art only the priviledged can learn...screw that anyone should be able to learn something and make a living doing it right so keep on tattooing man.

  • i have done hundreds of tattoos now and im upgrading all my stuff because i have gotten that good. but this video really helped me because i couldnt find this information any where explained fully and i still cant find it but when i watched this while ago it helped me understand it alot better thanks. ps more like that people in professional shops started out scratching then none people are watching this for a reason why critisize

  • how can i add duty and decrease the speed?

  • Do you want to hear some funny shit? I'm a scratcher as well and I had a sheriff ask me for a tattoo.

  • to do with actual art lmao honestly though where did you get that eikon power supply?

  • just one question... where in the fuck did you get the eikon power supply? ..... I thought they only sold to official shops... with address's and a valid business license... sorry man but I had to ask.... and btw don't listen to those jerk offs.... ( no offense if I just pissed someone off ) I mean don't get me wrong I agree with the sentiments at least in part( sterilization is a bitch when your working out of your house.... autoclaves are expensive as fuck ) but location has vary little

  • I really struggle to understand why there is such a negative attitude from tattooists toward people wanting to learn. It's an art and yeah I agree it should be shared and loved. Some people can't actually get apprenticeships. Because of that, does that mean they have to stop wanting to do the thing they love or have a real great interest in? I don't think so. I'm starting out and it's vids like this that help a lot. I know the rules, the do's and don't. People who want to learn aren't stupid

  • @AilinsArt their negative attitude comes from greed and priviledge. less people learning means more cash for them...and trust me they are mostly very overpaid...and they like it that way...secondly...their social status comes from knowing something not everyone knows...has to stay a well kept secret or they just arent as admired. its all shallow and bad for the industry.

  • thanks for the help mate

  • [ F yeah! Scratch on dude! thanks for the vid, helped me out thanks!!! ], jut walked in a tattoo shop that opened up im my town, she attend the "World's Only Tattoo School". the shop already looks like dirty shit hole, and her personal art on the wall looks "rudimentary". im OCD and sterilization is common since lunam! and thanks to this chick opening up a shitty shop im learning and proud scratcher !

  • Thanks for the tuning info, I've been having a hell of a time with my guns, especially after alot of heavy shading! Thanks!

  • thx for the Vid man!!! plz dont be fooled just because someone works at a shop, or owns 3 of them lmao, dose not mean they are a artist let alone even know how to lay out a tattoo!! i can not believe the shit i see coming out of "shops" these days......

    lol so Scratch on

  • hey forget all the negitive comments man your the best

  • hey man i just ordered a dragon hawk starter kit on and i'm not sure if its a good gun maybe you could tell if its a good gun i know its not the best for sure but for a starter is it good ??

  • Hey dude, thanks for the greate vid. Gave me the insight i needed.

  • I got every one of my tattoos in the pennitentiary, which is to say 11 years earned me a lot of ink. I learned how to shoot there, and now thats my bread n butter. Ive never had one infection, or Ive never had anyone get infected after I hit em. Its called cleanliness. If you dont take care of your fresh tats and keep the area clean and sanitized, its your fault if it gets infected. I can say though, theres no cleaner spot that Ive ever worked out of than my home.

  • honstly lets be adults, i own to tattoo guns and ya can call us scratcher or whatever we dont charge ppl we do this as a damn hobby one of my 8 tattoo was done in a actual shop and never again will i ever go to one it wasnt done how i wanted it and spots of color are missing id much rather be kicked back in my own home while my hubby does a tat for me i aint takein anyones buisness. what i do in my own home is my buisness and im being attacked for it right now.

  • I liked this video & I'm damn sure it will help me. Fuck anyone who thinks scratchers should die lol the fact is everyone has done it at least once.. Thanx for the bid =)

  • im a "artist" and i always wanted to tattoo,im just learning and im glad theres people out there that help us scrachers. For people to come out and say that were messing up the industry is bullshit! Some people including myself dont have the time to be someones slave in a shop and work for free just so one can teach them,to old for that shit, i have not tattooed anyone and will not do so till i have learned from reading, seeing and practice. All u need nowadays is COMMON SENSE,anyhows great video
