well, later in the game even melee weapons are laser, plasma and so on. only at the beginning guns should be overpowered with only steel swords and such

I was going to ask around about this. If they where working on Gerneration 3 and 4. Phantasy Star 3 and 4 Remakes. Even though 3 really wasn't related anyway I could see. But I guess there isn't any further work on them. 4 would have been so cool! I found it the best. Also on a side note I can't beat this boss on the Genesis.

Three is somewhat related the problem is when it takes place in the US version it's supposed to take place 1,000 years after 2 as a new Dark Force is born every 1,000 years but some say it takes place after 4 as there are refrences to the sealing of Dark Force in the temple in PS4 and it ties itself to PS1 with the finding of earth and Dark Forces remains are hiding in the ship corrupts the humans has them discover the algo system start a new religion and corrupt Lassic(Lashic).

No it wasn't a fallout with Sony, it was a fallout with the developer responsable for the localization of the US version.

The PSIV remake was cancelled in Japan, and Sony refused to release just the first two games on the one disc; it had to be all three. Plus there were issues with the developer.

On Facebook, search for the group "Bring Sega Ages Phantasy Star Generations 1 and 2 to North America", and join it. The more members joining this group, the more pressure we can put on Sega to bring these classic to our shores once and for all.

Dark force is in phantasy star 1 also but as Dark Falz.

It was a translation option "Dark Phallus = Dark Force/Dark Falz". Also there are many kind of Dark Phalluses: Dark "Pro" Phallus (PSI & IV); Dark "Cyber" Phallus (PSIV), etc. (I think they gave up the idea of giving nickname to them all)

Sega make awesome games,Phantasy Star is maybe one of the best JRPG game series,i played Phantasy Star on Sega Mega Drive 2 and i been totally impressed,of course,its my opinion,but that fact,that Sega made remake for one of the first games of Phantasy Star series is proving,that Sega is great company,bad,that its not been released for PC and its been released only in japanese language

@isorSOT Exactly why I said they aren't what they use to be. Because they are stingy as fuck with their good games and have been since the Sega Saturn Era. Just look at the game libraries, even the Dreamcast we only got 50% of the games at best. And most of what we get now is just SONIC!... We were lucky to even get the PSU series considering what they DO give English language players. And on that game their customer service & failed promises were enough to drive a person crazy. So YEAH they..

@millgiass Have gone down hill since the Genesis days. Sega was always my favorite console maker, even when the PS2/ Dreamcast rivalry began. So you can't be calling me a troll, you have no factual basis for that statement. Everything I've said is based on personal experience and watching Sega change as a company at large. They DONT give people outside Japan the same level of respect they use to. They don't have the same quality I would expect from something bearing the logo SEGA. It's proven.

That is what a troll would do. And it's not an opinion I share. I just think Sega's quality has been slipping consistantly down hill over the past decade. I'll give them props on the PSU series, PSP series, and Valkyria Chronicles, but nearly everything else they have dropped lately is forgettable.

@millgiass The fact they have not released these remakes outside Japan is a testament to how much they couldn't care less about their customers outside Japan. Phantasy Star fans have been frothing at the mouth to have this game in their native language ever since it was released, but it hasn't come, and likely never will. That is Sega's biggest flaw they don't know it's not ok to just keep flooding us with bad Sonic games, they don't give us the selection they use to back in the Genesis days.

Yet they don't take advantage of this like they should... They just keep hammering away with the sub standard Sonic games. He still takes control of party members, however his influence is not always felt. So sometimes you can still attack as normal, even if Dark Force has control, and sometimes the characters can't move, have their attack lowered, etc.

I was refferring more to those whom have played PSII, and are used to seeing 'Dark Force' in the game. :) Most people I talk to have always thought 'Dark Falz' was just a shout-out to PSI, rather than realizing it was actually the name of Dark Force in the other original games as well.

Well, the remake of Phantasy Star IV has pretty much been scrapped; instead they are releasing a port of all four original games for the PS2, plus the text adventures. The english translations of PSG1 and PSG2 have also been cancelled, and considering how long it has been now, I seriously doubt the project will be picked back up.
