lol I am Manchu/Japanese//Han (although my dad who is han looks more Uighur.) Anyways, Chinese knows I'm Chinese when they see me and Japanese think I am Japanese when they see me. Point is, historically, a large part of Chinese history is about integration and no one really knows how mixed they are.

@calling4jim1 Agree. Han Chinese has the greatest population because it is resulted from thousands of years of integration. It is not simply one ethnic group but a mixture of thousands of ethnic groups. The Chinese language today (PuTongHua) and culture are very different from the Chinese language hundreds of years ago. Whoever feels proud of being a pure Han Chinese probably have inherited a great portion of genes from those minorities in histories, sarcastically.

Many Tibetans look very typical east Asian, as most Han Chinese. When the Dalai Lama visited Taiwan recently, there was a DL look alike in Taiwan.

The ethnic social dynamics is not like that in the USA. External physical appearance will always be a major factor in regard to seamless assimilation generations to come.

Socially, the Tibetans are more like Slavs and Irish in the USA, not like blacks, Hawaiians or American Indians.The social essence is much determined by racial appearance.
