When I saw this I thought it was an A/U ( Alternate Universe) type of film of what happened AFTER the series itself ended. Anyone else think the same thing?

@MyKelly85 AU yeah, but I don't think it's "AFTER the series itself ended" cause -SPOILER ALERT!!- Spike dies at the end of the series. So... there is no 'after'. Technically speaking.

@Ackles4life watanabe himself said about spike "I've never officially said that he died. At this point, I can tell you that I'm not sure if he's alive or dead." so we never really sure if spike is alive or if he did die. secondly it was even discussed at one point of continuing the series but believed this would upset fans so he left it. finally, when I first saw this I thought it was an alternate universe film but I found out soon after that it took place somewhere in the actual series.

Although I can only think of one off the top of my head: in the episode with the weird cowboy guy and the "Teddie Bomber" the guy himself says his name. "You're Spike Spiegel, aren't you?"
