  • I bought Sabian Xs20 Medium Hats mostly due to this video. These have to be the best value in cymbals. Peace.

  • The Medium ride to me sounds like crap. Although it might just be the room I play in, I really want to replace it with an AAX Metal ride. The Rock crash is nice though, I prefer the medium thin crash from the XS20 line, but the rock crash sounds cool, its even decent for wash riding, but maybe a bit too cutting for that.

  • this guy said he wants a set of these, come on bro your eyes on the aax line :p

  • An endorsment from a guy like this means more to me than some famous guy who plays in big arenas. This is the type of gig that most of us have. XS20 cymbals are great. I compared my 16" AA crash to my XS20 16" crash, and they sound just about the same.

  • I like so much the sound of this cymbals. I had a A Custom 18'' crash and 14'' Hat and I'm looking for a cymbal more "brilliant". It's not a coincidence that "brilliant" is a part of the name of this cymbal.

About other thing: I think ridiculous that someone comes here to talk bad about your band or music preference. We are here for knowing about cymbals or discussing about what music style is gay?

  • I have them, and Im getting my crash..I believe those are really good..i had 13' hi hat..I took 20' ride and the 13' hi hats..They cost me 200++ both of them..took them half price..Good !!!

  • because sound maters.

  • are these cymbals good for hard rock like avenged sevenfold

  • @SchecterSYNful not even.

  • @SchecterSYNful Glad you asked, I drum to a lot of A7x stuff, the Rock Crash I have does not suit the music well, and the medium ride I have doesn't seem dry or cut enough to sound good with it either. I would say no. The Rev used a lot of AAX stuff (and Two AA cymbals, which are basically hammered XS20's) I would go for the AA medium thin, or the AA metal-x (the same the rev used) if you want a sound like the Rev had.

  • yo band is gay!

  • ******&&&&&&^^^^^^from the videos ive seen on youtube the xs20 rock and the regular xs20 sound the same anyone tell me if there is a difference******&&&&&^^^^^^

  • @GOTAIRSOFT I'm no expert, but the rock are a fair bit heavier than the regular. The Sabian XS20 Brilliant video showed a fair bit of difference in sound, atleast to my ears.

  • How much are these cymballs

  • @TheSupernoodle right now there 483 dollars at zzounds for a limited time. usualy around 500

its the super set one btw

  • So how much was he payed to say all this?

  • I have that crash. Its AMAZING!

  • I have these cymbals but slowly I want to upgrade to either AA or AAX. Which ones will still sound nice with these, AA or AAX?

  • @edgarrubenvelasco both will work well...i would go with the AAX's cause the preformance pack is on sale for $500 on Musicians Friend right now!!!!!

  • i have these cymbals...they dont sound like this i reckon me techniqe is wrong :/ i suck

  • @Lawtonthegreatest Sticks can be a part of it too. The type you use can slightly change the sound. What sticks do you play with?

  • @RedSandStudios Pro Mark 420 (the Mike Portnoy signature ones) I'm looking into getting some Vic Firth rock model sticks are they better or is it about personal preference?

I have just re-read my first comment and i'm sorry for the terrible english! :L

  • @Lawtonthegreatest Haha it's fine, bro. Well between Vic Firth and pro-mark it's definitely preference. I prefer Pro-mark since they seem to be less slippery and a bit more durable. Although it could be partly because I have been playing with 2Bs, but I digress... The Portnoy sticks are on th ethin side, so they will definitely sound different than thicker kinds. Using oak instead of hickory will also change the sound (plus oak is a lot more durable).

  • @Lawtonthegreatest Anyways, I would say try out some thicker sticks to see how they sound (and maybe you will find a pair that you love). I would recommend 5A or 5B, perhaps in Japanese oak from Po-mark if you want to try that out. If you're really daring you may want to try out some 2B sticks. They are really heavy at first, but they do most of the work for you, make a really powerful sound, and are super hard to break.

  • @RedSandStudios ahh great :) thanks for the advice I shall check those sticks out :)

  • fuck the bar tenders!! bast the bell

  • I have the 18" XS20 Medium-Thin Crash, the 18" XS20 Chinese, and I recently got the 13" and 14" XS20 Medium Hats. The thing I like about them is that they have a warm sound that's not overbearing. It's very musical. VERY melodic. And I love it. I would recommend it to anyone. The only thing I wish Sabian would make is an 8" XS20 Splash. That, with the 10" XS20 Splash, would make a wonderful splash setup.

  • st. pete bitch

  • favorite of the xs20 line is the china

  • He should probably learn a few more descriptive adjectives other than "great." For instance, "neat."

  • @PopeReloaded

He says killer at the end!

  • @MrRiot007 Ah yes, I am mistaken then!

  • Do these last long?

  • @theshoe124

Well, they are made of B20 bronze so they flex well. Unlike B8 sheet cymbals which don't flex (and I crack them within the first month)

  • what are the songs your playing

  • what are those songs your plaing there good?

  • what are those songs your plaing there good?

  • just played some of these the other day. Was not expecting them to sound as nice as they did. These are just as nice sounding as AAX.

  • @ironcobra8 Agreed.

  • these are awesome cymbals! i was either going to buy these or save up for longer and buy a HHX cymbal pack! i bought these and with the money i saved i bought some more cymbals! but damn do the hihats sound lush!

  • i have these exact ones and no doubt i recommend you to buy them. they are indeed at the best price

  • I'm more of a big HHX fan but I understand where this guy is coming from and I wouldn't mind a set of these for the smaller venues I play at with my band. They do sound fantastic so next set of cymbals I buy will be these. Sabian just keeps getting better and better for me.

  • im usually a zildjian fan....but i just got these and they sound amazing

  • these seem great, anyone know how well they work in a studio situation?

  • I like them better than AAX

  • what's the difference (sound) between brilliant an regular finish for the xs20?

  • @RazorMX The brilliant finish adds a clearer sound than the original. The orginal has bite, but these have a glassy cut to them.

  • ...and they coulda had Wailin Smash!!!!!!!

  • is this guy a mini endorsee or something

  • I recorded my band's demo-songs with Sabian XS20. They're really good, and the owner of that studio (friend of mine) is also a drummer. He has been playing drums over 6 years or more and he plays very heavy stuff and he bought XS20 about 2 years ago. And he hasn't broke them yet! So they are durable and I love these. :)

  • I'm gettin the brilliants in a few days! Can't wait man!!

  • the hats a really great !!!! great cymbals for a great price !

  • if online stores don't specify what finish these cymbals are can I now assume they are brilliant finish???

  • 2:15 ZIGGY STARDUST!!!!!!!

  • i have the entire set of XS20's , 20" ride, 4 crashes 14" 16" & 2 18's , 10" splash , 2 sets of hats(13 and 14's) and a 18" china, in the natural finish though, Im glad they made the brilliants , gonna pick up a set of those as well. nice kit and sound you have :) ! cheers !

  • These are the cymbals I started with when I first played Sabian and I had them for about 2 years before I started moving up to AA and HH and other higher end lines. But if you just need a great cymbal for not a lot of cash XS20s are the way to go.

  • Same, they're great starter cymbals

  • sounds kickass!

  • SABIAN RULES

  • ziggy stardust!

  • man that WAS a nice bell!

imo, great cymbals for the price.

  • @proto35 great cymbals period.

  • This ride cymbal kicks ass

  • these cymbals sound great and at a good price, ill definetly look in to these for when i go get some cymbals
