They have clustered. There's a server called Ywain, all have the same zones (excluding housing). According to herald there are 3.5k-4k players every night.
I played DAoC for 8 years and switched over to WoW. I'll have to agree with you, though. I personally feel that I had alot more fun with DAoC, the world was SO MUCH bigger. Trials of Atlantis alone could probably cover all of WoW, lol.
But I do have to say that WoW's arena system is amazing, DAoC should've had it. Also, WoWs interface is much better, its alot more handy. I don't think WoW is crap, its still alot of fun but I do have to say that DAoC was better. I wish it was still big.
It was clearly the best mmorpg i've ever played. Don't get me wrong, UO with which i started playing online games, was great and may still be regarded as the mother of mmorpgs but i've never experienced such an atmospheric, beautiful game with such a nice and adult community.
No matter in which level zone, you always used to find a group and leveling was just pure fun. Never played a game with such a balanced an thought -out pvp system, either. I'm longing back the good old pre ToA DAOC. R.I.P.

agree, Daoc was a wonderful experience.. but Darkfall is coming out so there is hope to reclaim the throne of a good pvp centric group/solo/guild sandbox style game. We can only cross our fingers in the coming months.

This brought many memories back. DAoC was/is the 'love' of my 'gaming' life. No other game ever really came close. Sure there were good single player games but nothing compared to DAoC. It is also the only game that managed to keep me for longer than 2months (2+ years). I left after ToA, and came back, and when my nightshade (first to 50 on any server) was renamed on Percival, I closed the account indefinitely. It was a beautiful game. WAR captures some of the RvR/PvP moments...ALMOST...
I played WoW for about 3 years. It wasn't until arena season 3 in BC that it started to bore me and I was literally screaming for something new. About half of my log on sessions were logging on, jumping around Orgimarr for a few hours while chatting with my guildies. I'm glad mythic came out with another MMO that feels right at home. Warhammer is a great game IMO, I'm looking to try DAOC but I don't think I can play 2 MMO's at once...

DAoC enviroment is pretty dead compare to WoW. WoW music 10 times better and way more intuitive and fun where DAoC seems like a chore. Its just not as epic BUT pvp is a lot better atleast. WoW comm is pretty tolerable to me. Plus im a warcraft fan that has followed the series which is supposed to be RTS but WoW is great. I like both but of course WoW wins for me it just has that epic, awesome, feeling. Plus its the most fluid well balanced game. WoW made MMORPG fun again as others were aging.

No its unbelievably good. Dont bash a game you dont play. Ive played both and WoW wins. I suggest you play it and explore it before you say anything cause DAoC it can be a mess till you get used to it. WoW easier to get in to than DAoC. Both are good. Thats your opinion. Its hard to get in to a different mmorpg other than the one you have played for years. Why would you play a game for 6 months that you dont like? Makes no sense. After playing WoW, i go and try DAoC and it was shit but then turned out to be descent. i tried LOTRO and that came after WoW and it isnt as good. Plus WoW is 10 times better with the BC and the new WoTLK coming out. I suggest you play with expansions as they make the game WAY better.
As far as hard to get into a different MMO... WoW was my first MMO. I played it for 3 years. Then I explored other options, and saw how far WoW really does fall behind... I'm currently on the trial for DAoC and I love it, already i prefer it over WoW, classes are better, and the game actually knew how to pull off PvP, rather than just LAWL I GOTZ PURPLZ IWIN! And I got into the game REAL easy... The tutorial zone explains very simply everything you need to know in 1-2 hours.
First off Im really bored of MMO's and think they are the worst game genre. Secondly Warcraft WAS an RTS and those games are some of the best games ever. I have no motivation to play WoW anymore atm or any boring, overpriced, and cheap MMO which they all are as they are becoming the thing these days as they're easy money.
yeah, average age for that game is 25+ therefor no BS from kids.....i remember i was 14 when i played this game and one guy stole my kill or some, i dissed him so bad with some bad words ( pecival server (where you have to be nice and all))the little blue crystal in the air ( admin ) was there within minutes lol, moved me to the top of a tower and had a conversation with me, said one more time and we'll close your account :D so....there was no BS from kids.

OMG So many memories indeed. I used to play daoc from like a year after release off and on until a little after DR came out, then i had to give it up for a while. I was self afiliated with all my characters except for 1 which was a lvl 50 Cl 3 Paladin w knights of the round. Im also looking forward to WAR also because IMHO DAOC was the best and funnest MMORPG ive ever played so i have faith in mythic. Great vid BTW!!
yeh , like Archlord that a pretty decent game and when it first came out u had to buy the disc and pay like £9 a month but they made it free and u can download it now and its alot more populated :) , so they should think of making DAOC free

I only left because a friend and I were interested in CoH again (after playing then quit cuz he couldn't play anymore) and he told me he would join CoH but he never could T_T But I'm gonna play again hopefully and most likely as a bainshee (although I do feel odd playing a girl as a guy)Anyways, great video!

Yes it can. WoW is better but DAoC is one of the pioneers and is great too. I played WoW first then tried this and it wasnt as good.

That's a matter of the age of the player. As most young players need graphics at a certain level and an interface that is easily understandable.
DAoC is a MUCH deeper game then WoW, requiring a lot more understanding of the game to be good at it. Also, the community is tolerable, unlike WoW.

DAoC enviroment is pretty dead compare to WoW. WoW music 10 times better and way more intuitive and fun where DAoC seems like a chore. Its just not as epic BUT pvp is a lot better atleast. WoW comm is pretty tolerable to me. Plus im a warcraft fan that has followed the series which is supposed to be RTS but WoW is great. I like both but of course WoW wins for me it just has that epic, awesome, feeling. Plus its the most fluid well balanced game. WoW made MMORPG fun again as others were aging.

First of all you did you give it much of a chance? There are SO MANY awesome stuff in WoW and its just epic and EXCELLENT lively atmospere. I hated WoW when i first played but that because i played for a few levels but i learned of what a great game it truly is. It gets tons better if you actually play it. Fun festivals and holidays just adds so much to it. . Im hated DAoC but its good now. DAoC 8/10 WoW 9.5/10

No its unbelievably good. Dont bash a game you dont play. Ive played both and WoW wins. I suggest you play it and explore it before you say anything cause DAoC it can be a mess till you get used to it. WoW easier to get in to than DAoC. Both are good. Im a Warcraft fan too which makes me like it more. There were 3 Warcraft games before WoW and they are EXCELLENT and WoW i didnt like AT FIRST because it was WAY different and mmorpg. Then i gave it a chance and like it now. Both are great

Thats your opinion. Its hard to get in to a different mmorpg other than the one you have played for years. Why would you play a game for 6 months that you dont like? Makes no sense. After playing WoW, i go and try DAoC and it was shit but then turned out to be descent. i tried LOTRO and that came after WoW and it isnt as good. Plus WoW is 10 times better with the BC and the new WoTLK coming out. I suggest you play with expansions as they make the game WAY better.

As far as hard to get into a different MMO... WoW was my first MMO. I played it for 3 years. Then I explored other options, and saw how far WoW really does fall behind... I'm currently on the trial for DAoC and I love it, already i prefer it over WoW, classes are better, and the game actually knew how to pull off PvP, rather than just LAWL I GOTZ PURPLZ IWIN! And I got into the game REAL easy... The tutorial zone explains very simply everything you need to know in 1-2 hours.

First off Im really bored of MMO's and think they are the worst game genre. Secondly Warcraft WAS an RTS and those games are some of the best games ever. I have no motivation to play WoW anymore atm or any boring, overpriced, and cheap MMO which they all are as they are becoming the thing these days as they're easy money.

I loved daoc. I dont remember the exact years I clocked in but it was before SI up until Darkness Rising. Thats when I quit.

yeah, average age for that game is 25+ therefor no BS from kids.....i remember i was 14 when i played this game and one guy stole my kill or some, i dissed him so bad with some bad words ( pecival server (where you have to be nice and all))the little blue crystal in the air ( admin ) was there within minutes lol, moved me to the top of a tower and had a conversation with me, said one more time and we'll close your account :D so....there was no BS from kids.

I think WARHAMMER is just a bad rip off of DAOC's gameplay, I played it last long as I could now I am going back to DAOC.
DAOC just does everything better then WAR and it has nicer classes and better end game.

Awesome! I miss daoc so much, played it since day 1, but then when trials of atlantis came out I kinda lost interested, to much armor base then...lots of great memories, and definetly great people, my favorite game of all time.

I realy miss this game. I started playing it one month after release. What I enjoyed about it the most was the community. Every guild I was in was very good and fun. Now I play wow and good guilds are hard to come by. :( Oh how I miss them good old days

OMG So many memories indeed. I used to play daoc from like a year after release off and on until a little after DR came out, then i had to give it up for a while. I was self afiliated with all my characters except for 1 which was a lvl 50 Cl 3 Paladin w knights of the round. Im also looking forward to WAR also because IMHO DAOC was the best and funnest MMORPG ive ever played so i have faith in mythic. Great vid BTW!!

yeh , like Archlord that a pretty decent game and when it first came out u had to buy the disc and pay like £9 a month but they made it free and u can download it now and its alot more populated :) , so they should think of making DAOC free

Awesome video. I've never played DAoC, but my friend does, he's always liked it through all the good and bad changes. Looks like a good community game and it's my hope Mythic will bring that same glory to WAR.
