I don't know why people say that destruction spells are underpowered if you enchant you items so that it doesn't cost Magicka then you are quiet powerfull and I know that it doesn't do as much damage as melee or acher where you can one hit (witch I don't wont to do because then its get way to easy) but the good thing about is that it stuns (I know you can do that as well as melee but you can do it at a distance)

I found really interesting the Midas Magic Mod used with the Deadly Dragons Mod and with Wars in Skyrim! Those three mods together are really fantastic and not overpowered at all!

I love Midas it gives u spells to fit a far wider range of possible classes...like druid / ranger type ect. Skyrim is kinda flat with magic, Armour, weapons :/

@sammetju08 I crawl through mud infested dungeons covered in body parts and fluids from a hundred different denizens of flith that happend to explode on me, I get slashed, burned and dribbled on ever ten seconds, and its bloody cold out there. Besides it would clash with my beard :)

@GophersVids No, I was talking about the vanilla clothing, the clothing is only different on female bodys, but you could make a male character and then type "sexchange" in the console, you keep a male head, but the rest becomes female, it does however make you sound like a female, but on NPCs only the body will change, and that's pretty funny sometimes, having the archmage in a skimpy dress with his head :D

And it allows gay mariage...

@pwnnightman Yes I am aware of that. My first mage playthrough was a conjurer/illusionist. Both are very powerful schools of magic. Probably the most powerful two in the unmodded game.

I have a lot of saves in the drive but the total drive capacity is 1.7tb. So it is no where close to being full.

@99Pusher Try deleting very old ones anyway. The scaleform menu system seems to bog down when the save list gets very long. I am not sure that is your problem though. But it is worth a try.

I luv the videos you produce and I've been watching them since I started playing Skyrim. I find myself using almost all of the mods you've recommended. Here's the problem I'm running into. I can't save my game without it crashing to the desktop and losing all progress. I'm not sure which mod or mods are causing the conflict and I can't narrow it down. Is there any programs that can look for conflicts between the mods like there was in Oblivion? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

@99Pusher Is the drive you save games are on full? I have found that if I let my saves get too many, the whole thing grinds to a halt in save/load. So now I delete old ones every week or so.

@PeTreTTyy You are very welcome :=) Try a conjuration/illusionist sometime though. Even unmodded it is very nice on master difficulty. Getting enemies to kill each other and then raising their corpses to fight for you. Fun times, fun times....

I don't know if you've already answered this/listed this somewhere (probably have) but if you haven't, could you tell me what graphics enhancing mods you are using in your videos?

I'm mainly interested in things like: FXAA/ENBSeries mods and lighting mods in general; texture mods are probably more a matter of taste anyway.

I'm confused about the magicka cost with the perks of balanced magic.

In the perk's description in the video I read it says "Destruction spells cost more magicka and do additional damage".

The 'more' should be 'less' , right? (As Gopher also says in the voice over).

Or am I confusing stuff?

@RICOOABC I believe he's using IE, because that's NOT his normal browser, so the browser is clean. He's more of an Opera guy, if I recall correctly.

Have you never heard of Enchanting? You cant Put Fortify Destruction per exp. on four parts of your body. Each will reduce magicka cost for 25%. If you put all four it will reduce the magicka cost by 100% giving you infinite magicka. :) You should cover that.

One thing you forgot to mention in the video. The way Mage Armor works in Balanced Magic is on a per-item basis. What this means is that IronFlesh will be slightly downgraded if you are wearing one piece of armor, say, gauntlets, and will be severely downgraded if you are wearing a full set of armor. This effectively makes it scale like the magic effectiveness level did in Oblivion.

For anyone looking for even more spells, there are 2 more great spell mods, one of which is dedicated to completely unbreaking the conjuration tree (with other fixes as well)

The first is called Be A Better Mage with Unique Spells. The second is called Phenderix Magic Evolved. The only requirement when installing is that the first must go before the second in your load order.

Also, Gopher, can we PLEASE get some CK tutorials? That would be awesome!
