  • one of the catchiest songs ever! Gets me groovin everytime!!!!

  • ohhhh snap, my body wont stop moving!!

  • It seems like their feet were always moving 100 mph

  • Shake that thang fellas! Yes!!!!

  • lol thumbs up if you see 2:32 the cop is trying to get the girls off stage and then at 2:38 he starts dancing lol

  • MJ was so hot & sexy back then with that dark skin, afro, nose, etc.

He did not need plastic surgery.

    X:D

  • @Srhandel mike absolutely did not need the surgery that destroyed his looks....i honestly believe he did for two or three reasons...the first being...he didn't like his 'big' nose...two...he looked too much like his father who he apparently despised if not outright hated...three...he learned early on that he would not reach the heights he eventually did if he had kept his 'black' features and dark skin...once he started he couldnt stop...

  • @gdub520 I actually agree with all your reasons...but I think mostly he didn't want to look like his father and he thought he wouldn't be the most famous man if he had dark skin....

  • The Midnight Special was a great show. Many great artists including the Jacksons. RIP MJJ

  • Michael was always a beautiful human being. The Jacksons Are good looking people. I don't know way Michael had so many plastic surgeries. He certainly

had issues. It's too bad, because he never seen how beautiful he was naturally.

  • @jd7779377 no...i mean NIGGA nose...he ran away from who he was.

  • OMG...

Michael Jackson was such a fine hot looking, younger teenage kid then to. Even that custume, he wears on stage, couldn't make him, less attractive looking.

The other Jacksons Bros are cute Boyz to. But to me Michael and Marlon to me are the best looking of the brothers in this video.

No offense to Jackie, Jermaine, Randy and Tito. But they still cute to. No wonder my mother has a big crush on Marlon & Jermaine. I can see why. I really can't blame her...lol I would have to.

  • Comment removed

  • @jenniferalls its spelled video. not vid. dumb ass. suck it

  • Lord I would Have gotten my ass on that stage and acted as though I belonged honey, they wouldn't have known the difference, the only difference would have been I would have been the one following Michael on stage copping a few feels! His security would have had to beat my ass!

  • I just got "The Very Best of the Jacksons" CD today and so I will be in a state of unfettered joy until further notice...love the dancing and those bright horns and crackling guitar licks, and the keyboard on a strap...

  • At 1:45 that spin was bad to the bone.

  • .49-.55 so HOT!

  • Love seeing Mike and Marlon at 1:00-1:05.....

I read a long time ago that....it was Michael who showed Marlon a pic /fan letter of the girl that he (Marlon) would eventually marry....they have been married for 34yrs now.....don't know if that story is true...... but if it is....nice to know that Mike was looking out for his big brother!.....Thanks for posting this video.....brings back great memories....

  • @carlagirl7 Marlon married his high school sweet heart.

  • @carlagirl7 It is true. :) Michael introduced them. Marlon said it in an interview a while back.

  • He did look FINE I don't understand why he thought he had to change his face?

  • lord have mercy michael was soo sexy he made u wanna do some thangs :)

  • I love when they do the funk part, i know it's not this video but it's cool as anything when they do it....

  • He was totally hot....

  • There will never EVER!!! Be another MICHAEL JACKSON!! He was the King of EVERYTHING!!!!! king of pop, king of music, and the king of dance!!!!! He is a legend that will never be forgotten!

  • nothing is as raw and real as it was back then...everything now is mixed and computer enhanced...the live performance is the best...so glad these old vids are still around...maybe the new generation can learn something about talent...mj you are so loved and so missed!!!!

  • When the best is gone, who are you going to conpare yourself too. Things will never be the same again.

  • Im going to tell you all something funny, as a kind growing up, 2 yrs younger than Michael I use to think he was Billy D. Williams son. I guess he didnt look too much like those other brother and after seeing Billy D. Williams I just couldn't believe how much Michael looked like Billy D. LOL! I think about those days more and more each day goes by now. Whenever J% was on TV the WORLD stop and Im GULED to the tube, if I had to go to the rest room it had to WAIT because J5 was on TV.

  • I Was The Same Way Growing Up. Whenever Michael Was On T.V., I Dropped Whatever I Was Doing As A Kid.

  • @orlandez22 ummm I still do!!!! My kids LOVe the old jackson 5 stuff....

  • i am mesmerized by the pelvic thrusting goin on here

  • im going to ask the dj to play this when i go out sunday he played blood on the dance floor for me last week

  • Just out of curiosity, why did singers lip synch on these shows? Was it a cost factor or for appearances' sake? I always wondered.

  • Michael & Randy Jackson were the most talented of all the jackson brothers(=.But honestly, I don't think Randy got enough credit for all the contributions he put in for "The Jacksons era".

  • I think all those who are taking time out to put these vidoes together are awesome I love MJ so much and spend countless sleepy nights watching these videos lets keep his legacy alive thanks so much

  • I still can't belive he is gone.

  • randy wrote that song !!!!!

  • @clbdy

    and michael..

  • Is there any talent out there anymore. This vid is better when they are doing what comes natural than someone trying to take it over the top. Everything sucks these days. When is it ever going to come back. All the legends are gone. When you watch MJ you are watching a life in music. He did it to please us to the greatest of his ability. And damn was he good. We will never see this type of talent again. Its gone, can't understand things anymore.

  • Youre spot on because music of today is absolutely lousy

  • @jenniferalls

I agree with everything you are saying. It doesn't take much today to get attention. Talent is definitely not mandatory. Michael indeed gave everything to us.....including his life. I just wished we had collectively treated him better....especially the blood sucking media.

  • @tgeighties

i say this all the time!!! michael gave EVERYTHING he had to us, to the point where there was nothing left over for him to cling to himself. he was possibly the greatest multi-talent in the world and much like any public figure, he was continuously sacrificed. his life is a testimony to "fame" in all its dark, ugly, realism. . .

  • @tgeighties I TOTALLY AGREE...wow.totally agree.he sacrificed privacy and really-LIFE to give to the world....

  • @jenniferalls I know exactly what you mean and how I you feel. Everyday, or so, on my Facebook page, I attach a "video of the day" from the 60's, 70's, or 80's, to try and remind people what great music is, and try and get people to stop this insanity of the music today, and get it back to it's roots, but no one is listening, it doesn't seem. It's sad, it makes me really really sad.

    How do we change it?

  • @vegasbaby92 Everybody buy's CDs for one song they like on it and the rest sucks. The songs you hear these day's are played for a month and you never hear them anymore. It's because it suck's and its a fad. I think all your record company's are run buy a bunch of kid's these day's. And they don't have any taste in music. I don't know what to do but play the good stuff in your car as loud as you can so these ass hole's can hear real music. TURN IT UP and don't be ashamed.

  • @jenniferalls What is called music now-a-days is recorded overnight and released the next day. These guys took time to make an album and put their heart into it.

  • @949galaxy So true you hit the nail on the head. Good to see you enjoy this as much as I do. Thanks my friend.

  • @jenniferalls What is called music now-a-days is recorded overnight and released the next day to make a quick buck. These guys here took time to make an album and put their heart into it.

  • This is one of my favourite songs of all time an absolute classic lets all party

  • ii like the part at :50 lol

  • merkury06, watch "American Dream". It wasn't mj that wanted to seperate!!!!!!!

  • thats right it waz jermaine

  • Watching this I think MJ shoud have stayed with the Jacksons a lot longer than he did. I think he would have been much healthier and just as succesful.

  • I love what they're wearing

  • it's like, every time I watch a performance of this song, it's like hearing it for the first time....which is weird since it came out 11 years before I was born....lol. But you guys get what I mean....it's just that type of song. A really good one to mark their 10 years in the business, too.

  • i don't really care 4 the jackson 5/the jacksons albums but the singles r great

& michael's solo albums i could listen to all day

  • Sorry folks not only do I have the Destiny album (yes, album) that this song is from, it is the recording they are singing to. You have to remember (and I do, as I was 12 when this song was out) there was no MTV, this was 1979. Midnight Special, Soul Train, American Bandstand, all music shows either had them singing via the record or in some cases live. This is definitely the record. No one cared, all we cared about was see the performance. Those were the days! :)

  • Thank you! For once, someone is being honest! All these shows had 90% lipsynched performances...that's just the way it was.

  • @mediaagent Agreed. And you know what, it doesn't even matter if they were lip synching because the Jacksons proved a billion times over how talented they were anyway. Unlike the autotune crap that is out today...

  • @tinkie5 EXACTLY! LOL!

  • 0:44 OMG!!!!!

  • I LOVE YOU MICHAEL FOREVER !!!!

  • I could care less if they are lip singing or not...they are the Jacksons and they are rockin!!!

  • Damn, Michael was so fine.... He could make even those corny 70's outfits look hot(and that's saying something). He had the most beautiful smile,oh and the way he move Lawd have mercy....sexy,just sexy. I hate the way the woman walks across the stage(It's like, bitch get the hell out of the way...you are blocking Michael, lol!!).

  • @obdiane Sorry for the late reply (7 months later), but I had to say I laughed at your comment .. yeah, I agree .. lady, MOVE IT .. we wanna see Michael !

  • @obdiane lol... xD... ikr.. she takin ha timee nd shits.. i wanna see Mikey!! xD

  • This performance is pure energy expressed by all the brothers. Sorry but there is no lip syncing at all!!!! Please watch the video again. MJ is not singing harmony and vocals at the same time.

  • lmao, don't be silly. So I guess Michael can also double his own voice and create harmonies with 2 or 3 of his own voices, too? lmao! I adore him, but he's lipsynching here like most artists did on tv back then.

  • Ok, then explain to me what sounds are coming out his brothers mouths,ie background singers? Kind of silly to dispute this.

  • @Luvtheskin simple. brothers are lipsynching

  • Sorry Luv, but I am old enough to remember The Midnight Special and yes they are singing to the record. All shows had performers back then singing via the record or sometimes live (Soul Train, American Bandstand, Midnight Special). I have this album and I know this is the recording backwards. Remember this was the 70's there was no MTV. No one cared if they were lip synching. I don't think anyone even cared. I We just stayed up just to watch the Jacksons! Those were the days!

  • Those really were the days. I was about four or five when I discovered the Jacksons back in the early 70's so everything looked real to me as far as lipsyncing goes. Miss this type of talent...

  • Amen!

  • you would think that if they were gonna have them lip sync this they would at least take out the parts where mike is singing backup and harmony with himself! i mean, he's good, but he's not "sing with two voices at the same time" good! awesome performance anyway!

  • In the 70s and 80s, lipsynching was so commonplace on tv shows that people didn't care.

  • RANDY!!!!

  • wth, you guys. VH1 used to show this type of stuff years ago. Now, what do they show? Reality shows?? I'm sick of it! As time goes by, music and TV get worse :(

  • i agree with u, now they show all these reality show's and back then there was awsome tings on :/

  • Notice the song is basically Michael's song including all background harmonies throughout until the very end when his brothers join on background. He wrote this with Randy but this was a precursor to Off the Wall - Michael was music!

  • This is my favorite song!!!!!!

    I like the dance steps.

  • Trivia: Paula Abdul choreographed this And was dating Jackie during this time, too!

  • lol yeah they had been dating for a while even though jackie was married, but she was a great choreographer

  • WRONG!, Paula was 17 at this time, she didn't start to deal with Jackie until the early/mid 80's

  • Fact Check: Paula was interviewed by MTV on the Red Carpet for the 'This Is It' opening, there she stated she was 'an 18 year old Laker Girl' when she was asked by the Jacksons to do the choreography for their tour.

    DEAL with THAT!

  • what a slut fucking with a married man.

  • The year this was filmed the Classic Rock Genre was feeling very threatened by Disco, Funk & R&B the whole country was "dancing and shouting and shaking their bodies down to the ground" Also the movie Saturday Night Fever had came out a couple of years before this, Oh I remember it well! The Rockers were so threatened they burned "Disco" (Dance) records at a big stadium in America, the video is on youtube search burning disco records or disco riots of '79. Love you MJ and The Jacksons 4evah!

  • I remember that. Very sad situation for people to act like that.

I hate that people burned those records and "declared war" on anything of the Disco nature. I love Disco and it's not dead. No music is ever dead as long as it's in your heart and soul.

I wonder if those who hated Disco so much would rather have it over all the vulgar songs that are so popular today? Hmm.

  • lol I like disco better than rock!

  • Bonafide star!

    Effortless talent!!!

  • A truly gifted singer and dancer - God Bless you, Michael!

  • HOT!!!!

  • This was the loosest his has ever been on TV, He was extra funky in this performance,

  • yeah i think because this was the same night they all renunited with jermaine to perform destiny, and he probably was excited about doing that considering him and jermaine were so close

  • He was sooooooooo freakin' sexy and hot in 70s !

  • mmm at this point they all was sexy even down to tito lmao. but i love me some marlon back in the 70's he looks good now but this marlon right here can get it. and michael was sexy here too

  • cute butts thay all have

  • U got it - bootaylicious or what? MJ's has always been a fave booty tho! :)

  • Whoa. I can see where the "Thriller" dance originated from at 1:30 to 1:36. :)
