Sorry Luv, but I am old enough to remember The Midnight Special and yes they are singing to the record. All shows had performers back then singing via the record or sometimes live (Soul Train, American Bandstand, Midnight Special). I have this album and I know this is the recording backwards. Remember this was the 70's there was no MTV. No one cared if they were lip synching. I don't think anyone even cared. I We just stayed up just to watch the Jacksons! Those were the days!

Those really were the days. I was about four or five when I discovered the Jacksons back in the early 70's so everything looked real to me as far as lipsyncing goes. Miss this type of talent...

The year this was filmed the Classic Rock Genre was feeling very threatened by Disco, Funk & R&B the whole country was "dancing and shouting and shaking their bodies down to the ground" Also the movie Saturday Night Fever had came out a couple of years before this, Oh I remember it well! The Rockers were so threatened they burned "Disco" (Dance) records at a big stadium in America, the video is on youtube search burning disco records or disco riots of '79.
