I'm interested in what you have to do to become a pilot. If anyone has detailed information, a private message/comment response would be highly appreciated.
kinda of intimidating how nonchalant he seems, to a novice it seems like astraunat talk, at this rate I feel like it would take decades to understand that "lingo" gotta put it in slow motion to get a grasp
What I don't understand is why this guy didn't know what aircraft he was flying... and why is he so slow in knowing what to do? I feel sorry for any student of his...
@alex99minecraft In general aviation speak, 'flaps down' means flaps extended fully. I'm sure we have all seen that video of a Cessna 172 trying to fly overweight and with flaps down...
Wow i guess that Microsoft combat simulator game i had way back in 2004 was good:you not only had to do all those checks AND MORE (ailerons, flaps, oil/fuel mix, prop angles) in the game but had to manage all those buttons mid flight as well.
If that's any indicator, it makes me think i gotta good chance of getting a plane airborne in--well its been said-- a Zombie invasion. =P
Where's the cupholders <;-) Do you primarily teach the checklist as a 'to do' list or do you teach flows? I learned via the checklist but now have transitioned to flows and follow up with the checklist. So just curious. I know there are many philosophies out there.
open your head ....... if you want to be a pilot .. and you have no idea what does it look like .... watch this video ... if you like it .... you can go to an academy ... if you dont like it ... you will change your mind ... because if you dont like it and went to the acadimy ... you will waste a looooot of moooony
Wow everyone on youtube must be atpl, mecir pilots. If all the flight sim chuck yeagars out there want to get a hold of me I'll give you a carton of beer and make a fake ID for you to sit my CPL performance and flight planning test I failed today, cause obviously flying on flight sim breeds quality experts.
Should have left the Carburettor heat on for AT LEAST 15 seconds, if carb ice were present, it would have melted and formed at a more critical point in the engine
@guesswhat6789 Carb ice wont form at idle. Plus you should refer to your carby ice guide to determine the risk of icing for a particular day. Putting it on on the ground is just a check to make sure it is op, but many times particularly in areas I fly if it is U/S there is still no reason to cancel the flight.
Do you mean Cottonwood by Sedona? Holy crap that is the best place in the country in my mind want to move there when I get out of college that is awesome!
As a pilot I have to tell you he did a fantastic job on his pre flight for you people that dont have a clue but seem to open your pie hole go take a lesson or two. It always seem that the uneducated are the first to judge.
Wait a minute; did you say make sure that the flaps are down? I thought they were suppose to be up; at least that's what i was told by a previous instructor.
are atc turn instructions pre calculated for drift angle and winds aloft? SO if atc wanted you to fly 360 and the winds were from the west would they actually give you a heading of something like 353 to corrrect for the cross wind. woudl atc be aware of the winds aloft and of taken them into account before giving you turn instructions. so basically are atc turn instructions calculated to put pilots on precise tracks. are atc instructions drift angle calculated
@1982FMJ No, atc instructions are not corrected for wind. All craft should follow exact headings given by atc, otherwise you may have some pilots correcting more than others. If everyone is flying exact headings without correction, then atc knows what to expect of them.

he seems to know what he's doing, just a few details he messed up, 1. know the plane you're flying, it says "piper" on the yoke lol but thats an easy mistake if you fly cessnas for a real long time, and the 50 ft drop is suppose to be RPM, but again, easy mistakes. but if someone heard that and was looking for a cessna taking off and saw a piper, confusion would result haha good video

Your an idiot if you think this is a Cessna (this pilot is an idiot). It says Piper on the Yoke...the switches are laid out like a piper...and the obvious throttle quadrant.
1) That (and I use this word lightly) Pilot should really concentrate on what he is doing, god if he was my instructor i would never make it past my skills test.
2) For those who took notice of my user- name its PPLPilotUK, thus I am training for a PPL In the uk, however just a quick question to those Pilots or Students out there, what is the normal RPM rate you set while on the ground in that type of aircraft?

Check again. Transponder is set to 1200. That's the one thing he did right.

why is the transponder set to 1300? VFR flight usually squawk 1200, no? I'm just training for my PPL, so please don't yell at me if I'm wrong!=]

Your an idiot if you think this is a Cessna (this pilot is an idiot). It says Piper on the Yoke...the switches are laid out like a piper...and the obvious throttle quadrant.
MasonPilot06 2 years ago
thats funny, it looks like a cessna intstrument pannel, with piper yolk. haha

Cessna 9704C is the callsign of the plane if i heard correct, but the on the yoke it says Piper.

Hi there, I would just like to say two things:
1) That (and I use this word lightly) Pilot should really concentrate on what he is doing, god if he was my instructor i would never make it past my skills test.
2) For those who took notice of my user- name its PPLPilotUK, thus I am training for a PPL In the uk, however just a quick question to those Pilots or Students out there, what is the normal RPM rate you set while on the ground in that type of aircraft?
I only ask because I fly a C152.
PPLPilotUK 2 years ago
1800rpm is the standard for most small trainers...

He seems to be concentrating pretty good to me....Typical UK snobbery.

Well, aren't you a hero. You are so full of yourself, I would hope to never have you as my pilot. Check your ego at the baggage claim...Sheesh

Im defending your attack on 'UK snobbiness'. I am not praising myself. The pilot in this video seems too 'lax'.
