  • WOW ! Awesome sound ! Thumbs up**********

    Stork-Werkspoor Diesel B.V., Zwolle/Amsterdam 6TM410, 1969, 6-cylinder 4-stroke, 2747 HP aboard motor suction dredger ZETA, PIM Belgrade:)))

  • do you have a river near that power station? I just wondering is it direct or indirect cooling.

I know this is a hospital, but on our ship we have MaK, its almost the same. Constant revolution at full throttle, 375 rpm.

  • @bigcyz The engines are cooled by a cooling tower. There is no river nearby.

  • 1 month to go. Then they will be stoped.

Now we are at 236024 hrs.

  • hehe great sound!!

  • Ugh U dont want your hand in those rockers!!

  • Do these have any kind of forced induction? Seems like turbo charging would make sense, even at that size. Where can I find the numbers on a engine like this?

  • Engines are turbocharged by BBC. Size does not matter. There are much bigger ones. The number of the engine can normaly found at the frond of the engine. (Front-ship, turbo-side) We have 2 engines no: 3511 and no: 3512

  • Thank you for that. By "numbers" I was actually referring to statistics. I am sure I can search for them.

  • ^^ lol

  • I sailed for 3 years on a ship with the same engine. Bore 410mm, Stroke 640mm, 4000 bhp. I sailed on a non-rev. 4 Engines, 2 shafts.

  • So that comes out to 2400 CI and some change. big engine.

  • Ha ha.

Niet goed geld rug, a Nederlander once told me.

  • The guy in the white shirt shits his pants.

  • That's me :)

During the start there is an air leak and generates a spray of lub oil. I was saving my white shirt...

  • klinkt nog bijzonder goed voor 216k uren... :)

  • @vinlien776

216000 hrs, it must have been opened a few times ?

  • @johnsenkenn

    1000hrs a smal maintenance.

    9000hrs an overhaul

    18000hrd a big overhaul.

    So it's opend a few times. ;)

  • i worked for a while on this kind of Engine. same model. and its still working. it was built in 1963 :) so much for reliability. I liked it. sure, its not easy to do maintenance at them. but still, you will get lots of experience....

  • @vinlien776 How fast do they go? 500 rpm?

  • During start-up 270rpm.

    Normaly 600rpm

  • i assume 1 of 4 generating sets ?

  • No, It is one of two generaing sets for the emergency power of a hospital.

This is the startup after 3 month standing still deu to a fire in the fuel room.

  • WOW

  • Hoi Vincent,
