I never said that she didn't try and sing it beautifully, Wishmaster just about passes but if i'm honest the songs written for her sound the best. Oh and yes I have heard Wishmaster by her but Tarja did it better because the song was designed with her voice in mind. ^^ xx

People cannot accept change, a singer they have known and loved for so many years suddenly replaced. I love the early Tarja version of this, but I also love this version as their voices are so different, it refreshes it amazingly.
The difference between Tarja and Anette: Tarja can SING those high notes, Anette has to SCREAM those high notes. No question, both are great singers, but this song just doesn't fit to Anette's voice :(
I rather like this version. Looks like Anette is getting to find her own style, in the beginning she seemed a bit too generic and impersonal (and she seems to control her voice better now, too). Not all old songs sound good sung by her but this one does.
I wish she would sing the melody straight without so much embellishing. Still a nice job though. The thing I like about Annette is that the delivery is more genuine, Tarja's was a bit artificial at times.

It's true there are certain songs Anette has not done very well...but it's unfair to say she's "bad." She has a very good voice, but a very different style...and I actually think she sings some old songs as well as Tarja. For example, I saw them do Higher than Hope live, and Anette absolutely blew me away! And I liked her version of Dead to the World better, in fact.

I know all the Tarja fans will hate me for this, but I don't care. I love Annette's rendition of the old era songs especially of this and Nemo, just as I love Tarja's renditions. Sleeping Sun and Nemo have always been my favourites.

I like Anette's take on this. This song is out of her range, and she's doing it anyway.
Tarja's voice is amazing, but she's a lyric soprano. Those don't grow on trees! Very few women (even in opera) can hit those notes.
I'm glad she wasn't too intimidated to sing this. Yes, I like Tarja's voice better on this song...but this song was WRITTEN for her.
Some singers would have been too afraid to attempt this. Anette gets my respect for that.

yes Tarja is a very good singer... but she was asked to leave nightwish. She is gone... probably never coming back... Anette is the new singer.. you will all have to either deal with it, or just go listen to Tarja's solo albums...

I don't know...I honestly like both singers. Tarja is legendary, but she could not work with the band. You can't replace a voice like that.
Annette is different, but she's good in her own way.
Still, imagine how bad it would be if we didn't have Nighwish at all! If Tarja broke up the band, we might never have gotten any albums after 2005. I'm happy to have the band!

People cannot accept change, a singer they have known and loved for so many years suddenly replaced. I love the early Tarja version of this, but I also love this version as their voices are so different, it refreshes it amazingly.

The difference between Tarja and Anette: Tarja can SING those high notes, Anette has to SCREAM those high notes. No question, both are great singers, but this song just doesn't fit to Anette's voice :(

I rather like this version. Looks like Anette is getting to find her own style, in the beginning she seemed a bit too generic and impersonal (and she seems to control her voice better now, too). Not all old songs sound good sung by her but this one does.

I wish she would sing the melody straight without so much embellishing. Still a nice job though. The thing I like about Annette is that the delivery is more genuine, Tarja's was a bit artificial at times.

It's true there are certain songs Anette has not done very well...but it's unfair to say she's "bad." She has a very good voice, but a very different style...and I actually think she sings some old songs as well as Tarja. For example, I saw them do Higher than Hope live, and Anette absolutely blew me away! And I liked her version of Dead to the World better, in fact.

I don't have anything about Anette, just the opposite, I think that she has a great voice, the songs of the new album Dark Passion Play is very good. The element is that Anette should not sing songs of Tarja, simply because they have very different styles, without to offend to Anette, but her voice not has a conditions of singing songs as Wishmaster or Sleeping Sun... That the legacy that Tarja left was.

Okay, let's face it Tarja is gone and now we have Anette, people are complaining but would you prefer if Nightish had just ended? I loved Tarja's voice and then I heard Anette and I thought that it was a new and interesting sound for Nightwish and I would like to see where this goes.
Alright I'll admit that her voice doesn't work with some of the older songs but they weren't written for her, they were written for Tarja. Could you see her singing Bye Bye Beautiful? Just give her a chance huh?

Creo que Anette no canta mal... pero debería estar con las Spice Girl o con RBd. Su voz no es adecuada para esas rolas, no es su estilo y se oye mal... yo no digo que Tarja sea insustituible, pero mínimo busquen una vocalista que sea similar, con el mismo estilo y el mismo tipo de voz, porque es una banda de metal sinfonico, no es Pop!! Qué lastima y que decepción por el cambio tan drastico que ha dado nightwish.

I know all the Tarja fans will hate me for this, but I don't care. I love Annette's rendition of the old era songs especially of this and Nemo, just as I love Tarja's renditions. Sleeping Sun and Nemo have always been my favourites.
I'm so excited Nightwish will be only 5 HOURS AWAY FROM ME IN 7 DAYS!!!! Unfortunately, my folks don't have the money for tickets T-T. Ah well, with my cd collection, YouTube, and the knowledge Tuomas is just a few miles away, I'll be hyper all that day.

In all fairness she made a fairly good attempt considering her voice can only cope with quick note transitions and not the more operatic ones :O
Anette does have a more pop voice but I liked the version...not as good as the last version sung by tarja though <3
