I agree you probably shouldn't. If you want to make a spiritual journey you'll be better off just trying some mushrooms, or maybe even a little LSD or 2-CB. MaryJane contains tar as well as other stuff that's not necessarily good for your lungs, but cigarettes will cause lung cancer MUCH quicker due to the additives, many of which are added because they cause them to be more addictive.

Watched all 10. I've gotten delirious about 13 times each time with no sitter 7 times with a friend or two. It's intense, uncomfortable, and threatening. Sudden sounds/movements scare the shit outta you, you're so brain dead you can't complete 1/2 a thought, and hallucinations IMMERSE YOU. Datura is like any other drug/chemical/substance. Taking too much Can kill you but so cant a bottle of multivitamins. People who study ethnobotanicals and know there effects can and do use plants like datura safely. Well, they're not; there's a HUMONGOUS difference between all the psychoactives, and everyone will react extremely different to different psychoactives. Some can kill you, some cannot. It's for instance impossible to overdose on cannabis.
But Datura? Yes, it can be fatal.

I'm 32 and have only drank and smoked weed.. I'm totally thinking about making myself some datura tea because I have read a lot about Native American shamans using it for "spirit journeys". I agree you probably shouldn't. If you want to make a spiritual journey you'll be better off just trying some mushrooms, or maybe even a little LSD or 2-CB. But only if you really think you're ready and the circumstances are right. Datura is actually more of a posion than a psychoactive. It dehydrates the body and most users experience the trip as extremely frightening.

My advice is to read trip reports on erowid to determine what a good starting dose would be. I've never tried it, but, the first time, I would eat no more than 5 grams of seeds.

You see, this is why they should legalize LSD, Mescaline, Shrooms and Cannabis. They have all the nice hallucinations (unlike all Datura species which are real hallucinations) and no poison to be worried about (though there is still a chance of overdose)
