I am absolutely spellbound by this. A couple days ago I would have said my practical influences for music composition would have been Martin O'Donnell, Steve Jablonsky, Hans Zimmer, and Ennio Morricone. I'm now adding Stephen M Lloyd to the list.
Hi! Great composition! I've a question...i've installed on my pc EWQL SO gold edition, but the "skin" of the program is not the same of the other skin that i've seen on youtube..not the tipical skin of the program...and another question...for a composition like this, i have to use EWQL SO and goliath or only EWQL SO? because i use a laptop, intel dual core 1,5 Ghrz...Colossus doesn't work on my pc for exemple...(sorry for my BAD english)
Wow!!! This is great, I use Reason v5 and I want these sounds, but i cant no matter how many refills i get or how many other programs i have tried. I am trying to rebuild my music station, but i am at a loss on how to do it. I have the same pc, but i have another one built for film scoring. Is EWQLSO a stand alone program, or used as a VST? If you can at least tell me how yours is set up, i will be put in the correct direction!
@Zironyxcyx EWQLSO HAS a stand alone program but it is not dedicated to stand alone, it is built to record. How many gigs do you have? How many processors do you have? All of these things are taken into account when your using a studio computer!
Hi. Great score :) May I ask EXACTLY which SD2 drums you are using? Quite new to this, and I would love to see what drums create this effect. Love the drive in this. Do you score/write down the music before starting, or do you get a tune in your head and then add instruments till it sounds good?
@bae215 You know what bae215, i cant remember exactly which one i use, Its one of my favorites but its been so long since ive actually used it i honestly cant remember! What i would do if i we're you is try experimenting with different percussions, also try experimenting with different EQ's on thoughs percussions! That is how you will define your music! Change the sound, crisp and simple is good!
@Xilefave Think of composing like building a house! Brick by brick! Foundation is percussion, the structure is your bass strings, and then of course comes the roof! Thoughs are your violins, after your done with the basics then start decorating it with lead melody!
if I were to compare Stephen with any other music by the way he composed this, it would have to be Two Steps From hell... but face it guys, Stephen has his own style, which I very much like, keep it up (I know you have to be working on something in the background of everything else as we speak)
very nice, you know, both duduk and ney are Anatolian Turkish Armanian ethnic instruments. Especially ney is an amazing instrument, you must try to listen some examples played by original intstument, it's not from that world but somewhere else.
NASTY! I can't wait to get this sound library, youtube is blowing me away just hearing all the great music made with this sound library, keep up the good work man
I really wish you can extend this track. This is the bestttttt soundtrack I have ever heard. So awesome and makes me feel all powerful and humble at the same time. Wish you can make more cool tracks. Thank you for this great music.
@Bullski123 i dont listen to hans zimmer, i understand the fact everyone compares me to him, its always easier to compare someones music to another composers rather then make your own opinion about the piece itself! Try listening to the piece without using the "Hans zimmer" approach!
@SteveMLloyd But you DO sound like Zimmer. You use Zimmerish staccato strings all the time. And your tracks certainly don't sound like John Williams ^^ Of course, they are good as they are, no doubt about that.
by the way, you're welcome to pop in and comment on my tracks - I've been digging EWQL occasionally for the past several months, and there's more to come anytime soon. The results so far are fine imo, but any criticism is welcome ;p
@SteveMLloyd Ennio Morricone mixed with Zimmer IMHO... :). I think it is impossible to not be influenced by someone else. As Sting once said, "All the chord combinations have been done a million times, it's just how you intrerpret them." Zimmer did admit that he was hugely influenced by Wagner for Gladiator.
Man, you're the best!!! Incredibly fantastic!!! I'm dreaming every night with this song and how could you do everything so natural!!! Not only this song, but all your compositions!!! Can you post some tips or/and a tutorial about EWQL and the mixings? I'm just a begginer!!! Can you help us? Please!!!
I've watched all of your videos. Can't pick a favourite one..they're all such an amazing pieces! Really love them.
anywho..i have a little problem and i wonder if you could help me?
I have the EWQL SO, but it doesn't load most of the instruments. It says that they couldn't be found. I've checked a million times, everything is there. The library is complete. Any idea ?
I have had a similar problem with east west colossus, the thing what helped for me was pick out the parts which wouldn't load and download them again [and this time it DID work! although i redownloaded it from the same torrent]
You should go work for Two Steps from Hell or Immediate Music. I dont mean this in a bad way, but your stuff is very typically "Hollywood film music". I fucking love hollywood film music, so I mean this in a good way.

Hey! Just letting you know that Ive listen to a lot of EWQL music and this is by far the best and most favorite of mine. I keep listening to it over and over. Keep up the great work!
Not only is the composition superb but I can't get over how well you've mixed this! I mean people this is a computer playing this! All midi and VSTs! I cant make it sound crisp and each instrument individual yet a good solid wall of sound which is perfectly balanced!
