I don't think I'll ever understand why this particular label signed Poema. I mean, Poema isn't bad, but its not the Tooth and Nail sound or genre. You know?

@WDFF5 Exactly opposite logic. By signing bands that don't fit the Tooth and Nail genre, they only estrange their current audience and harm their new audience. People who listen to Poema, generally aren't the same kind of people who listen to screamo and hard rock/punk. And vice versa. This is the nature of specific labels and genres. Your not supposed to mix and match, your supposed to choose one and stick with it. The Devil Wears Prada SHOULD NOT be on the same label as Justin Bieber.

@shipleyshipster I love Screamo and Hard rock/punk and I can say I love Poema as well. To me record labels that expand their horizons are better lables, now I agree TDWP and Justin Bieber should not be on the same label, but to have variability in a label is a good thing, it shouldn't harm their audience. I have heard too many times that when Tooth and Nail signs a band, its just another band like all the others they have. For a label to grow, it takes signing bands not like the usual. They fit.

Then comes along, the likes of Joy Electric who has been on the label for years, and Joy Electric is more different than Poema is on the label. Labels need variability to grow, without that, most labels will eventually tank. Change happens, and this label is going in the right direction! Poema is great. So is Rocky Loves Emily, and I am Empire, some other recent signs.

@Rith9789 It's not odd at all. T&N is really trying to expand their range of artists and styles, and not just the rock-y stuff. i think Poema is a wonderful addition tot he label. And like everyone else was saying, T&N is a Christian record label, and both the Puckett girls are very strong in their faith. Just proves you can't stereotype music or record labels haha. I think it's wonderful to see Tooth and Nail expanding their genres.
