Thanks, John. Although I never would have thought, having watched you on "Good Times" in the '70s on CBS, that you were a hippie "back in the day." So was I -- except that for me, "back in the day" meant the '80s, for I was a decade too young to have experienced Woodstock in 1969 (I was only 16 then).
It's also good to know that I'm not the only black guy who's still a hippie after all these years! (LOL)
@janetm1961 As i said, I'm glad that I'm not the only black guy who was a hippie "back in the day" and I'm still a hippie after all these years. But unlike the 72-year-old John Amos, I've still got the long hair to show for it -- although I must confess that it's only in the last 10 years that I've worn my hair in shoulder-length dreadlocks. "Back in the day," I sported a mini-Afro. I'll turn 59 in April, yet the only grey hair I have is on my moustache.
John, I had wrote you on your face book page but I got a tip from DHL to try and talk to you from here. I just wanted to say I did dig the video and being a late born hippie myself "61" But ah kinda got an early start on certain things. However I also wanted to say that I have enjoyed your movie and TV carrer for a long time. I read about when you left the show Good times and I was always under the impretion it was because they were taking a much differant veiw from the original intentions.
we were right in the 60's and lots of us still live by that credo...as the "other" elvis said "what's so funny 'bout peace love and understanding?" .....love this!
@flypeepshow It's John Amos. He's an actor. He was James Evans Sr. (The father) on 'Good Times', the father in 'Coming To America', in the mini-series 'Roots', 'Die Hard 2', lots of stuff. IMDB him.
This was fun! Thanks John! Still gotta a inner hippie child in me that has too get out sometimes!
