  • 321, 4 was so bad its not even an option.

  • 1324

  • For me, 3-2-1-4

I love the glassy, bright-dark, cutting tone of the K Custom Hybrid cymbals.

I also love the AAX X-Plosion too. Nice cut, explosive & bright. BUT i prefer the ordinary X-Plosion crashes... Not X-Pliosion Fast crash.

  • The test is not really fair.

The Sabian B8 is only half the price of the others. Its like comparing a Fiat 500 with a BMW 520.

With this in mind the B8 doesn't sound that bad.

  • @Hannibu I think that might be the point actually, just to give people an understanding of why the better cymbals cost more. On the test video, almost everyone put 4 as their last pick, and 3 and 1 as their top two. I guess it just goes to show that there is an audible difference. Agreed though, it didn't sound too bad.

  • woah the sabian b8 was a shocker.

  • i dont like sabians, but that zildjian wast the best ive heard either like the paiste better but though if i had to choose i prefer zildjians over anything my personal favorite is paistes

  • 3,2,4,1

The B8 is too bright and too cutting... That crash sucks.

The K Custom Hybrid is bright and dark at the same time (that's the purpose of the crash) and has a nice cut to it.

The AAX is too low pitched for a 16" crash but it is still nice.

    The Paiste is "meh..."

  • Pie-sty rhymes with fiesty.

  • Hahaa im used to hate zildjian for life, but now my favorite one was actually number 3, the zildjian K... i suck :D

  • @Meykeeeee personally i hate sabian but that xplosion fast crash was ok sabian is just trashy of a cymbal not well made and ive seen more broken sabians then zildjian

  • Hehe i have the 18 explosion fast not the 16 but i did liked the k hybrids

  • hahaha.., I am a sabian guy, but I chose number 3, zildjian...

  • i'm a sabian guy and i love the zildjian crash, i think i may have been converted...

  • That has got to be the best sounding B8 in the world.

  • Damn I prefer the K Custom Hybrid to all of those although i'm a Paiste guy... :)

  • 4 sucks balls...

  • hahaha my ordered went 3, 2, 1, 4. No surprise that the B8 was my least favorite. Though I thought I'd like the Paiste more than the Sabian.

  • 3214 ... paiste sounds shit :D

  • the B8 caught me off guard. It wasnt that bad

  • so which got the most votes?

  • drum heads, including ludwig heads please!

  • Funny how everyone was digging number one before the reveal..and then they revealed it, and everyone was like oh I said the wrong one...people are stupid that they care that much about a name.

  • i like 2,4,1,3

i did this in my drum store once with rides, went in thinking id be buying some HHX or HH ride, walked out with a Sab Pro 20" rock ride

  • mine is 1,2,3. im gonna leave 4 out cause it sucks

  • I loved the number 4, and now that i know that it was the B8 i regret that decision, because i hate Sabian's Cymbals, they are always too high pitched for their size

  • @joaoa13portugal failed on the reason on the video, it is about the sound or the brabd. You did totally about the brand ¬¬

  • @joaoa13portugal No offense but that kind of stupid wouldn't you say? you said you loved it, but because it's a sabian now you hate it. That stupid...in fact really stupid...cymbals should be about the sound you like not the name...It's obvious that you like the sound, because it's right there on you-tube.

  • @cattfischh Its not because its on youtube, i've only been drumming for 8 months, and for example, i love how Evans drumheads sound on the snare but just because its Evans i wont buy it xD

If its Remo, then i love it heheh

  • Guess i'll have to get myself some KC's then (Y)

  • I knew it! I knew number 1 was the best. I could tell it was Paiste. I know my paiste cymbals when I hear them. :)

Oh, and the B8 is shit.

  • @UrTubeSuksJerk Number 1 isn't the best, it's all about preference. there is no best.

But imo the B8 is pretty garbage.

  • should have gone in order

  • The first time I watched the blind test I liked 2, 3, 1 ,4 from best to worst. The last time before the reveal the I watched it I liked 1, 2, 3, 4 from best to worst. Funny how you like different sounds as time goes on.

  • Use some Meinl next time, and can you do a ride comparison?

  • "Please Let Us know what you think by leaving comments" Ok, Where the hell is Meinl. Maybe a byzance brillant please?

  • hahahaha let me laugh I really never liked sabian, and i was like "idk maybe the logo, maybe cos the owner of sabian is the brother of zildjian

didnt know, I saw this test so i was like O.O lets see...

    i was really confused about the 1st two cymbals, I finally said 1 3 2 4

and cant belive there was 2 sabians and both were always the last :( sorry sabian is not good enough for me xD

paiste all the way also I like zildjian

  • why no meinl? :(

  • the aax sounds best, still don't like sabian tho, and i dont play 16" crashes

too small! 18" all the way!

  • @Meatlooaf 18" is weak...go for 22"

  • I voted for #2 the sabian but it was obvious that the #4 is a cheap one.

  • Damn. I knew it. It must be a gear thing for me. I loved Cymbal #1 and I'm DEFinitely a Paiste guy.

  • What kind of snare drum is that

  • wow... so my guess that no. 4 was B8... It's so obvious that no. 4 didn't sound that high end compared to the other 3. B8 has this obvious 'flavour' to their cymbal which I don't really like.

  • Istanbul better than this cymbals at all...

  • test hi-end rides!!! it would be intresting!!

  • I picked the Ziljian, Paiste, AAX, and then B8. I have say this test was good but all cymbals are crap compared to Bosphorus (for Jazz)

  • OMG I SAID "there are 2 sabian 1 zildjian and a paiste"

i selected 3 (zildjian) then paiste

and one ore time i know this, sabian doesnt like me

  • I'm a recovering "cymbaholic" and have tried cymbals from every manufacturer. I'm sticking with Sabian for the rich tones, durability, customer service and TWO year warranty unlike the other guys. AAX crashes rock. This video served as confirmation for what I've already known, Sabian kicks ass.....

  • I really liked the Sabian AAX Fast Crash, nice balance of tone and brightness.

  • HAHA! :D

I've been drawn into Sabian for a few months now, and turns out I liked the Sabian :D

  • Hybrid Crash was my favorite in the blind one, and I've always wanted a set of them. When he revealed it, it solidified how much I really do love those crashes!

  • The only cymbal I definitely didn't like was the number one, Paiste Signature. I actually preferred Sabian B8 to it. The other three, I think any could come out on top, depending on how I feel at the moment.

I like B8 bronze cymbals in general, when they're made well (read: Paiste).

  • Are you kidding me, Paiste Cymbals are the top B8 brand. And Signatures aren't B8, they have 14.1% Tin. All other B8 just sounds like a tin can.

  • That's what I meant, maybe it wasn't clear enough.

I'll try to rephrase: I like well made B8 cymbals, and that primarily means cymbals made by Paiste.

I didn't like the Paiste Signature crash in this video. This doesn't contradict my first statement because, as you noticed yourself, Signature cymbals are not made from B8 bronze but from a proprietary B14 phosphor bronze alloy, also known as Signature bronze.

    Is this clearer now?

  • @TheFiery Oh, my bad. I thought when you said made well, you were being sarcstic about the Paistes being good. sry.

  • i got the zildjian as my first pick, but i really didnt like any of them 16" crashes sound horrible in my opinion, too annoying and high pitched

  • definitely sabian sounds horrible... I prefer paiste then zildjian...

  • Mine's

    2, 3, 1, 4.

I don't like the B8 cymbals at all. They sound cheap.

  • @Rastard12345 thats because they are cheap

  • @Rastard12345 that's because they ARE cheap?

  • I favored paiste prior to watching this and thought the blind test would help me know for sure which I liked best and it turns out I like the paiste signature. They're still really expensive...

  • interesting...before they posted the results i had picked #2 as soudning the best to me, and coincidentally i have 3 AAXplosion's in my set up.

  • I'm not surprised about the result!... i love zildjian K custom cymbals, but since I got my 1st paiste it kinda opend my preferences a lil bit... is hard not to tell paiste is a good cymbals mark

  • wow im so surprised...i said 1,3,2,4

thats weird because i said that none of them were gonna be paiste but it turns out my favorite one was paiste

  • I liked both 1 and 3 and I've had time to hear both for the past few months. I'm kinda torn which to get, although I honestly prefer zildjian

  • paiste it is then!

  • i like number 1 and 4

  • great result! :) I voted 1 & 2! thanks for the help guys!!

  • This was a very good test and I'm glad that I picked the Paiste Signature full crash because I've said for a long time that it is my favorite crash cymbal. I would have looked dumb if I picked something else!

  • Sabian AAX Xplosion Fast Crash rulesssssssssss

  • I know, I actually thought that was a Sabian the whole time, but I though it was HHX, I have to buy some X-Plosions now.

  • @tao1986 Agreed.

  • Paiste is pronounced "PIE- STEE" not "pastey"

  • haha, i said that in the same video when they uploaded it yesterday :P

and it rhymes with feisty :P

    BTW, it pearl_reference-123 from PDF

  • @officialdrumsndskate

    PDF RULES!

  • I could never get my PDF account to work. But I do go on Drummerworld

  • "pie" is right but it's not "stee".

Hard to explain, you barely pronounce the "E" at the end. I know it because I'm German ;)

  • @ RutboyNiles

you do pronounce the E, because initially the family "paiste" wasn't in a country with a german language, but in russia/estonia, eventually the company was set up in germany/switzerland, but this doesn't change that you pronounce the E.

as far as i'm concerned it's pronounced as, pie-stee with a reconizable "ee"

  • @Ignitionator You guys dont know how its said. Neither is right. Its said PAISTE. How its written

  • @cvcgac go on wikipedia, and type in paiste

  • @hellohiholaify im finnish. it comes from the word shine just like it says on wikipedia. and shine in finnish is pronounced paiste. thats the closest english people get it. people who speak english screw up all the words which come from abroad.
