IVE BEEN LOOKIN FOR THIS SONG FOR TWO YEARS. I Didn remember the name of the song but i remember the hook"take a message"! Kept gettin mixed up with the song outkast "She's Alive" dont kno why ! BUT I LOVE YOUTUBE!
I want him to hear the voices of all his angels and allow them to lead him again to his childhood where the strings of his heart screamed from his fingers, the thump of a wall or table came through the beat of his palms, the smile of his keyboard created through a genuine need for an encore. My prayers are with him and his family on this journey to life continues for them.
Here's the message from his cousin left on the facebook page "What happened to Remy Shand" from 3 weeks ago: "Dena Torchia hi there... just thought I'd update you on where Remy is at. I visited with his grandma today ( she is my aunty). He has not been himself since he lost his mom......he had been dating someone new and is now married to her. They moved to TO. I am hoping he starts to make some music out there and get into it again!
The comparison to Robin Thicke is retarded and Lame. Remy Shand not only plays every insturment, writes his music, but the guy dropped an awesome, and soulful album, then left the scene. Every song was a jam, unlike Robin's first album. No comparison Remy Shand >>>>>>>>>> Robin Thicke
sometimes i think white neo-soul/r&b singers (outside the U.S.) do r&b better than our own. i mean would rather listen to amy winehouse & adele than beyonce & keri hilson anyday...im just saying
@dl8a I agree that some of the neo soul Caucasian artists have surprised many blacks with their soulfulness and ability to relate on a level that is somewhat uncanny. I absolute love listening to Remy, Jamiroquai, Robert Palmer (God rest his soul), Winehouse (God rest her soul), Sia, Christina Aguilera and others with a soulful bone :)
Remy just needs to stop playing the disappearing act and come back! I miss him.
actually thicke was out before 2002.. he had longer hair, and he didnt do so well, but......people only heard of him in 2002 when his cd came out.. people do your homewor. JON B, was first...
For all of you saying Remy Shand is the 1st Robin Thicke, or before Thicke's time and has the same style......
Remy's and Thicke's 1st album singles came out in the same year! (2002). It just took Thicke a while to blow up, but he's been in the game a long time.
Just FYI; This album is classic; This still my jam
This dude is off the chain!!! I know he dropped off the music scene some years ago and his mom died in 09 or 10....thats his ex-wife behind him with the blue cap on Maiko Watson....he needs to make more music, super talented!!
i agree i love this song and it took me so long to remember his name and when i did i never stopped playing it much respect i feel this right to the cerebellum
I looked him up on Wikipedia and it said he started working on his second studio album in 2003....and he fell off. Everybody can't handle the music industry. Maybe he just decided it wasn't for him, but I'm thankful for this album. When it hit, I played it over and over. A true and gifted talent.
@MoniSings i read that too, and another thing- that he stopped doing his own music to produce for his wife....but i think that was hearsay. he never actually put a statement out saying anything, just fell off the face of the earth. what a waste.
I had his first collection of songs before he did a major recording.Got it off his dad with whom I worked with.I really like his music, but had to give the tape back later..damn.
The last I heard he was home in Winnipeg..sad to hear his mom past away.
When the Oldies R&B station here played this song, I thought it was some older musician like Smokey Robinson or somebody (please don't shoot me, I'm not that familiar with older music, lol) but it was a nice surprise when I found out it was this guy.
@skywarp Remy was sick, but Motown wasnt the label for him. Brian mcknight was rollin then on the Back at One album and they just dropped him in the whirlwind, Phropet Jones Too.
Hope you could post it with mirror image corrected. Remy Shand is not a lefty. Flip your video. The piano is mirror imaged, and hence "weird". The drums, guitar & bass are likewise reversed. On the original video, he plays right-handed. Nothign critical, just an FYI. I would like to see the notes he hits on his instruments & noticed this abberation. Anyway, thanks for posting the video.
I remember when this song hit the urban radio where I live, I fell in love with it. Had a rock/soul fusion thing going on, and I thought this song was awesome! Now, I was a caught off guard by the album cuz of its focus on rock (not a rocker), but the more I listened to it, the more I fell in love with it. Thought he was going places too, cuz ya boy is to talented, but the only place he went to was obscurity. Guess he didn't stoke the public's interest. Still, he was such a talented artist!
@IRON5 I am sending prayers for the healing of his heart, soul, and mind due to the tremendous loss in his life
