  • I served on this ship from 1981 to 1985 , during beriut, plank owner. I miss my shipmates i served with, and miss the ship also. It was a awsome experience!

  • Hats off! Thank you for serving.

  • Isn't it ironic: at one time she protected this nation from our enemies but now she sits docked along side the most dangerous city in the US: Camden NJ.

  • Modernize & recommision the Iowa class!!!

  • Awsome! Glad Thier Keeping Her Fit.

We Might Need Her Again, Some Day.

    I Served on a (378) U.S.C.G.C. Chase.

We had some Good Fie Power. But Nothing Compaired to That Beauty

    Thanks & GOD BLESS!

    DEO VINDICE!

  • This is the first ship I served on.

  • This is also the first ship i served on, commisioned by pres. Ronald Ragen

  • Thank you for your service.

  • Thank you for your service.

  • My grandfather, Harry Chew, was in charge of NY Ship. He built the NJ. I am from Haddonfield and I was a 71542 with the 101st in Vietnam. That piece of metal means nothing without the men who run things.

  • Yes, it's always about the brave who serve.

  • I was on this ship today. Its an amazing ship and beautiful too. There is one thing im mad about though. The Jappenese were supposed to surrender on this ship because it was the most decorated but was done on the missouri instead since trumman was from that state. Now the Missouri is at Hawaii where all the movies are filmed so it gets a lot of income from hollywood and is very maintained. It recieved a new teak deck... which the New Jersey should of got. Support the New Jersey!!! DONATE

  • I was on this ship today its real cool

I wish that they would open up the entire ship but its really amazing. One of the things im mad about is that this ship was supposed to have the Jappenese surrender on it since it was the most decorated but since Trumman was from missouri at that time he had it signed on the missouri which was then put at Hawaii where all the hollywood movies r filmed there for battlehips so it gets a lot of income so it has new teak decks and is more well preserved...

  • awsome piece of kit, it a real shame the UK never kept any of there Battleships

  • Of course she looks like the Iowa, she is an Iowa Class Battleship and a sister ship along with the Wisconsin and Missouri

  • it looks like the iowa which iz my fav ship

  • thats cuz the iowa is the sister ship of the newjersey

  • thats because its her sister ship!!

  • This is pretty cool! I actually went on this ship when she was still in commision. My dad was deployed on it for months at a time!

  • Your dad, like all who served, are the true American heroes. Please thank him.

  • We will! Ty for posting this! I also do remember this ship. Our father took me in '06 to visit it again as the museum! It was awesome!

  • my dad served on that ship. he worked in the machine shop from 1982 to 1986. just wondering is the below deck experince open to the public yet? please send me a message telling me if it is or not :)

  • This is AWsome!

  • I've been aboard the Black Dragon. It was amazing. The ship is enormous, and I got to stand on the same deck as Fleet Admiral William F. Halsey!

  • en France nous avions les Jean Bart et Richelieux ,ils on finis a la ferraille ...

  • i just wish that other countries kept their great battlesips for the same reasons. Love to get to the states and visit them all.

  • Check them my channel for battleship Averof

  • I wish the US would of permitted Japan to keep the Nagato at least so it could of became a museum ship today.

  • i sleept on that as a scout like last year

  • This is just awesome! Do you know when the new orientation video made by the History Channel will start playing at the BB-62 Museum?? Thanks.
