God's come into it because Celtic Woman is a predominatly Christian group. This particular album is full of religious double meaning, and has several open hymns in it such as Amazing Grace.

@colliric I have to disagree, to me Celtic Woman isn't a christian group. Amazing Grace, is yes indeed a religious song, but the only other song i can relate to religion is 'when you believe'. This song would remind me more of a song of love to a child or partner. no disrespect to your opinion you are entirely entitled to it, but don't force it down others throats when they disagree with you.

Only on this occassion it was delibratly done by the group themselves to make a point about love songs reflecting God's love for us. The Album contains several hymns and songs about faith as well.

too be honest i don't think this song talks about God or a relationship with him if there is a 1 God sorry for the name but i am a Pagan/Wiccan Very Celtic me its a song about having ur true love and a relationship with them

@SatanicJuggalo666 I agree that the song was written to talk about love, whether parental (like in Tarzan) or romantic. However, our relationships are intended to mirror God's (Judeo/Christian) relationship with us. If it is talking about a mothers love for her child, the words apply in how God loves and protects also. If it is talking of a romance, God's relationship with humanity has been expressed as the cosmic romance we have been looking for. I think it can apply to both.

In addition to this, I have lost a mother I was really close to, a brother and sister so close yet now estranged, a best friend (only one) that had died.

I have no idea why... but to me there is something in Phil Collins's that tops this one just by a little bit. This cover gives you a beautiful melody and a happy yet sad tone, they have the wonderful voice but I hear more emotion in Phil Collins... that is just me :)

I generally don't like Celtic Women, but this song...loved it. I've been a big fan of Phil Collins' version for quite some time now and I've used it for my stories as well. I'm honestly surprised that I actually like this version a lot. I prefer more of the harder Irish bands like Gaelic Storm and such, but this song...ugh, I just love it. Enough said.
