Blast from the past! This tune on the HM soundtrack led me to track down three Trust albums when in France in the early 1980's - they had some tasty stuff on those albums also (but then also some odd tongue-in-cheek excursions into disco, combined with punk/metal...)
Who cares, if this song was originally written in French? French is a dead language. Might as well complain that it isn't written in Sanskrit, or Greek Linear A. The only language, the "international Language"... the lingua franca (to be ironic)... is English. Only those things that occur in English matter. So, Robert Gallo discovered HTLV III, the disease that causes AIDS ...and the LAV "virus" of Luc Montagnier is a footnote to history. Only thing the French are good at is surrendering.
I loved this song when Heavy Metal came out. Never occurred to me then how much it reminds me of stuff on Def Leppard's first album (On Through The Night).
If you like this classic animated movie, i recommend Fantastic Planet, Akira, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Wizards, Ghost in The Shell, Princess Mononoke, Fire and Ice, LightYears, Starchaser Legend of Orin, Wicked City, Vampire Hunter D 1 & 2 and American Pop
@Johnlindsey289 And "Les maîtres du temps" from Moebius, who conceived background designs for TRON and who drawed "L'incal", a fabulous french comic. His real name is Jean Giraud. Go and check his productions!
James Cameron is a huge fan of Moebius and used him with Corben for one of his inspirations. He did borrowed some elements from Den and Taarna for his movie as there are similarities to the magazine and 1981 movie in his new movie even that climax where Neytiri fought Quatrich was a homage to the same scene where Taarna fought the enemy. He did also borrowed from Miyazaki, Rene Laloux, Last of the Mohicans, John Carter of Mars, Dune and Star Wars for his movie too.
Don't forget Princess Mononoke, same plot as those 3 movies. Seen that one? Avatar borrowed from that besides HM, Ferngully, and those i mentioned even Fantastic Planet. Do you think Neytiri is as sexy as Taarna and would win? Pocahontas is never a disney movie, it was an actual story that happened 600 years ago and Cameron borrowed from world history as he is a historian.
I grew up with this movie since i was 12 18 years ago on TBS with Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival, Rock and Rule and American Pop and they ruled my world since then. Fifth Element is also one of my faves since i was 15 going on 16 when i saw it 3 times in theaters, have you seen Avatar? very HM-esque and do you think Neytiri could beat Taarna in a contest?
Did you know this movie is one of the inspirations to both Fifth Element and Avatar? James Cameron is a fan of this movie and the magazine as it's one of his favorite animated movies, he is a fan of animation, adult animation, anime, Euroanimation and that kind of thing. You can tell Avatar was like live-action HM, he combined HM with Dances with Wolves, Dune, Star Wars, Willow, Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke, Ferngully and Transformers in one movie.
One of my fave soundtracks since i was 15 in 96 when i bought the movie on VHS. I saw this movie on TBS in 93 with Vampire Hunter D, Rock and Rule, American Ppo and Robot Carnival as they rocked my world. Who else has the same experience?
hello guys, l 'm french , and this is the first albulm, trust, (préfabriqué in french) :1979
l prefer the french version, it's better...
the singer bernie bonvoisin, he's a friend of bon scott, listen the song : your final gig, (ton dernier acte: in french) this song is dedicated for BON
This song is on the third albulm 1981 : walk or die (marche ou crève : in french). Bye
Don't waste your time using translation from French to English as it doesn't even closely relate to whats actually being said other than the "Spitting in the face" part. This English version is *sskicking.
This track is pure 70's Hardcore Punk crossing into Metal. Raw *ss guitar riffing & the sickest vocals.Awesome Track. The lyrics are difficult to find. Love this song!
When I saw the movie and heard this song the first time I thought it was Black Sabbath. But they had the song "Mob Rules" with Dio as the singer. I thougt first it was Ozzy, but he was fired from the band when this was made.
Problably the only english song by the french group Trust.
Snopp, I think the "Repression" album had both a French and English version...personally, I like hearing them in their native tongue better...just kind of has a bit more attitude...Bernie Bonvoisin sometimes fell into the same cadence with his delivery, but a totally great singer.
I haven't found the english lyrics, but the lyrics for the original french version are online. you can get them into a translator for a lark. "I spit in the face of the system/When I walk around I wear no emblem/I go where I want, I think what I want/No pressure, I spit in the face of nations"
It was in a very short part of the movie, where the robot and hot chick are having a conversation, just after having sex. You can hear the guitar riff starting @ 1:21 in the background.

@Silaxian The "..." makes me think that was sarcasm. haha
(just in case it was) This song was playing in the background during the scene with the conversation I quoted.
Not everyone notices that, because it's very much in the background and only part of it is played.
