The biggest problem in Haiti is the overpopulation; the fertility rate is around 4 children per woman... about double the US and maybe 3x Japan's. Thats insane, they need to stop having babies that they cant support. Haiti is about the size of Massachusetts with 9 million people... and no way to even grow enough food for themselves.

Yes, that is what the article was saying, in part. It would seem it was also pointing out a lack of infrastructure &, to a great extent, a lack of awareness on the part of the common people. 90% of their trees, these people have been on the brink of extinction for some time now. Sad.
