Veer ji i am learning kirtan in raags.He is teaching me 2 sing sargams in between shabad..so i also asked him the same question n asked him whether this thing has ever been seen in Harmandir sahib.he told me that golden temple vich sargam nahi boliyaan jaandiyaan shabad de vich bt he also told me dat to learn raags,one should know sargams.
So according 2 me we shud not sing sargams in between shabads coz saanu darbar nu hi follow karna chahida hai as nothin has changed here since guru ji's time
@sanghera47 my question is not wen shud it be sung but shud it be sung or not? shabad pad de samay ki ohde vich sargam allowed hai ja nahi?? bcoz Amritsar darbar sahib vich ta ajj tak main kisi v raagi nu shabd vich sargm add karde nahi suneya!!!

@SnehdeepK Well, as far as I know, Raga Basant is a spring raga,
and should therefore be played as such, that is, in springtime at any time. Otherwise at night.
