@honkthedank it`s in the 3d space, he just puts the camera parented with the object, and alwayis alinged to the side view, nothing else.

He also probably saves a lot of quads, because he can model all on planes.

The rocket drive animation is flawed. If the thrust would've been at the location the flames exited, then the car would have the tendency to roll over, instead it seems the thrust pushes at the rear axle or even lower, pushing the nose of the car upwards. Or someone is cheating with moving the CG to the rear.

you don't... you just leave it in 3d, set up controls for 2d (only forward and backward) and leave the bullet physics engine to do the job
